684
The extended bass response and output capacity of the 2½-way 684 floorstander make it a great choice for hi-fi or home cinema in medium-sized to large rooms.
It features a new combination of a pair of Kevlar® cones for delivering its bass and midrange. The lower cone is dedicated to bass, which relieves the upper bass/midrange unit of the duty to handle heavy bass and leads to clearer, crisper midrange than you might find in smaller speakers. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The improvements to the drive units in the new 600 Series make it possible, for the first time, to introduce a minimalist crossover to the range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality – hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests – reduces the degradation of the signal significantly. So, whether you’re enjoying hi-fi or home cinema, what you hear is that much closer to what was recorded.
Visually, a refreshed, contemporary design language and a widened choice of wood finishes allows the 684 to fit in effortlessly with any interior.

B&W 803D
A new model for the 800 Series, the 803D brings diamond dome technology to a less technical looking piece of furniture than the larger 'headed' models.
Here the FST™ midrange driver is housed in its own isolated section of the beautifully curved, Matrix™ braced main cabinet, which is kept as narrow as possible in order to optimise the dispersion of sound.
In order to have a similar bass output capability to the wider 802D, the 803D uses three Rohacell® cone bass drivers, this time supplemented by a front-firing Flowport™. Like all of our dedicated bass-only drivers, the basic rigidity of the radiating area is enhanced by our novel 'mushroom' construction, a girder-like component that supports the central area of the dustcap.
Although we talk about the three different drive unit types and how each is optimised for its particular frequency range, it is the way these speakers behave as a whole that impresses. It doesn't matter if the programme is music or film, the naturalness and realism portrayed by these speakers is uncanny.

CDM 9NT
The CDM 9NT really is an excellent example of the marrying of technological design with stunning aesthetics. This top model in the Series incorporates the unique FST "surroundless" midrange driver first pioneered in the Nautilus 800 Series. Other technological features include Nautilus tweeter, paper/Kevlar cone bass driver with mushroom dust cap for extra diaphragm stiffness, Flowport and braced cabinet construction. The handcrafted cabinets incorporate the best in design know-how and are available in three finishes - Cherry, Red Stained Cherry and Black Ash.

CM 4
The CM 4 is the stylish floor-standing speaker of the series. Tube loading the tweeter ensures far greater absorption of unwanted radiation from the rear of the diaphragm. The resulting effect is to create a more focused and natural high frequency sound. The bass unit is made from aluminium, which was selected for its excellent stiffness and ability to function as a piston. Twin Flowports at the rear of the cabinet have surfaces dimpled like a golf ball to smooth the airflow and reduce turbulence. The lower Flowport is integrally moulded with the terminal tray.

CM9
The three-way CM9 delivers truly commanding bass with the aid of twin 165mm paper/Kevlar cone drive units. An FST driver, with its characteristic compression surround supporting the outer edge of the distinctive Kevlar cone, is specially developed for outstanding midrange performance. The CM9’s Nautilus tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter keeps high frequencies crisp and sharp all the way up to 50kHz and beyond.

DM602.5 S3
The DM602.5 S3 is the entry-level floorstander of the range and a new model for Series 3.
Superficially incorporating the same drive units as the bookshelf DM601 S3, the bass / midrange in fact uses a larger magnet. Together with the larger cabinet volume, this gives a more extended bass response with a different free-field alignment, more suited to the floorstanding format.
As with all the systems in the range, new style terminals are fitted that allow the connection of 6mm (¼-in) spades yet still allow insertion of large gauge stripped end wire up to 6mm conductor diameter in the side hole.
Ideal for small to medium size rooms, the elegantly slim DM602.5 S3 eliminates the need for a separate stand and retains a compact footprint. Combine it with LCR60 S3 at centre in home theatre systems.
|
|
|
|
DM603 S3
Slimmer than its predecessor, the DM603 S3 is a 2½-way floorstander. The lower 165mm (6½-in) aluminium cone driver features B&W''s mushroom construction and is restricted to bass frequencies only, where it operates in parallel with the Kevlar® cone bass / midrange driver. The reduced excursion demand on the bass / midrange unit reduces distortion, not only in the bass, but also in the midrange when accompanied by heavy bass. The result is greater clarity at higher replay levels.
The tweeter response in the ultrasonic region is improved for Series 3, recognising the needs of the new high resolution recording formats.
The well extended bass response and substantial output capability make the DM603 S3 fully at home in medium to large size rooms. In home theatre systems, partner with the LCR600 S3 centre speaker.
|
|
|
|
DM604 S3
The imposing DM604 S3 is the only full 3-way system in the range. The dedicated Kevlar® cone midrange driver is housed in its own isolated chamber within the cabinet and delivers all the nuances of the detail in the recording without the encumbrance of having to produce any bass.
Twin 180mm (7-in) aluminium cone bass drivers combine with Flowport to deliver the deepest bass frequencies with ease. Like all the vented-box systems in the range, foam plugs are supplied to block the ports should the acoustic of the listening room impose too much bass reinforcement.
Suited to larger rooms, the DM604 S3 is capable of reproducing everything from the delicate sounds of a solo performance to the complexities of a large ensemble. In combination with the LCR600 S3 centre speaker it forms the basis of a truly impressive home theatre installation.

Signature 805
Technically, improvements to the bass/midrange driver have lowered distortion and, combined with a re-tuning of the Flowport, bestowed a more agile bass performance. Midrange transparency is notably improved, not only through the driver's lower distortion, but also with improved crossover components.

XT-8
The XT8 is a true three-way speaker boasting a Nautilus tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, a Kevlar FST midrange driver, and twin composite paper/Kevlar cone bass drivers. The bass units provide low-frequency bandwidth and power handling in abundance, giving the XT8 a real sense of scale and dynamics. As with all XT speakers, the body is formed from a single, seamless piece of extruded aluminium, creating an immensely rigid, stable enclosure and reducing cabinet coloration almost to zero.
