685
For hi-fi or home cinema in small to medium-sized rooms, you need a loudspeaker that is doesn’t take up floor area, but whose sound can still command the space. You’ll find the 685, which can sit on a shelf, table, stand or wall-mount, an inspired choice.
Its 165mm diameter Kevlar® cone bass/midrange is based on a tried-and-trusted B&W design, but its new fixed centre bullet helps to smooth the response in upper frequencies. Also, by setting the bass/midrange closer to the tweeter than in equivalent earlier speakers, we have improved the integration and vertical dispersion of sound from the two units. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.
The improvements to the drive units in the new 600 Series make it possible, for the first time, to introduce a minimalist crossover to the range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality – hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests – reduces the degradation of the signal significantly. So, whether you’re enjoying hi-fi or home cinema, what you hear is that much closer to what was recorded.
Visually, a refreshed, contemporary design language and a widened choice of wood finishes allows the 685 to fit in effortlessly with any interior.

686
The 686 is the baby of the new 600 Series range, but doesn’t lack for the technologies and features to deliver outrageously good sound in smaller room settings. Mount a pair on a wall or stand, or simply sit them on a shelf or table for a compact stereo system or as surround speakers in a home theatre set-up.

DM 602 S3
2 way bookshelf speaker with 7 inch Kevlar cone. Series 3.

DM303
The tweeter uses tapering tube loading, first used in the original Nautilus. This ensures far greater absorption of unwanted radiation away from the rear of the diaphragm and results in a cleaner, more focussed and natural high frequency sound. The bass/midrange driver uses a cone of woven glass fibre, which functions in a similar fashion to Kevlar. The crossover components use air core inductors for lowest distortion and plastic film capacitors for minimal signal degradation. The front baffle is moulded in inert micra filled polypropylene, which has a subtly curved outline and is dimpled to echo the theme of Flowport at the back; itself elegantly combined with easy-access terminal panel that can accept all common terminations.

DM600 S3
The DM600 S3 is a small speaker designed for mounting directly on-wall, but stand or shelf mounting is also possible. Its primary use is as an unobtrusive surround speaker, but it may be used in other applications where small size is important.

DM601 S3
A compact bookshelf / stand-mount speaker, the DM601 S3 combines a 165mm (6½-in) woven Kevlar® cone bass / midrange driver with a Nautilus tube-loaded metal dome tweeter.
Retaining the double skinned baffle construction of its predecessor, the cabinet features extra internal bracing for reduced coloration. Flowport ensures clean bass with good attack that remains more consistent with level compared to simpler designs.
The speaker is an ideal solution for smaller rooms. Combine it with the LCR60 S3 centre speaker in an attractive, high quality yet unobtrusive home theatre system.

|
|
DM602 S3
This is the largest of the bookshelf / stand-mount models in the range. Although similar in concept to the DM601 S3, the DM602 S3 enjoys the benefits of a larger cabinet and a 180mm (7-in) woven Kevlar® cone bass / midrange driver to give a more extended bass response and higher output capability. It is therefore the bookshelf solution for medium size rooms.
The outer layer of the double skinned baffle construction is moulded from mica-filled polypropylene – strong yet well damped acoustically. The profile is attractively contoured, the rounded vertical edges reducing diffraction – the secondary radiation of sound from sharp edges that can time-smear the clarity of fine detail in the signal.
The LCR60 S3 centre speaker would normally be used to partner the DM602 S3 in home theatre systems, but larger rooms may benefit from the extra output capability of the LCR600 S3.

Model WM2
The WM2 benefits from the common WM features of a woven fibreglass cone bass/midrange, mounted in a stylish corrosion proof cabinet with self-draining 'J'-port that extends the bass response without allowing water into the cabinet. The system, with its 130mm (5 in) driver crossing over to an Ultra 12 tweeter for high frequencies, is ideally suited to humid indoor or outdoor applications. The integral wall bracket allows rotation in one plane and has keyhole fixings to facilitate mounting in either vertical or horizontal orientation.

Model WM4
WM4 adds a Nautilus tube-loaded metal dome tweeter to the 130mm (5 in) woven fibreglass cone bass/midrange driver and a more versatile wall bracket which allows the speaker to be angled in both vertical and horizontal directions.

WM6
The WM6 is the largest of the weatherproof range and incorporates the famous Nautilus tube-loaded tweeter. The larger cabinet of the WM6 houses a 160mm (6 in) woven fibreglass cone bass/midrange driver and an audiophile Nautilus tube-loaded metal dome tweeter. The cabinet uses corrosion proof hard wearing materials and an innovative ‘J port’ which permits properly extended bass performance yet prevents water ingress.
