BIC America FH-65B Speaker – What You Should Know
- Great sound for Price
- Pocket Book Friendly
- Huge Dynamics
- Mid-range could be clearer
The BIC America FH-65B Home Theater Bookshelf Speaker might be the best possible speaker at this price point for home theater enthusiast. With it’s ability to play at 116dB (which is rock concert levels) and handle up to 375W of power, this little speaker might peal the plaster off your walls. But you don’t actually need all that power to enjoy these. With a 96dB sensitivity you can pair these with even a low output tube amp if you heart desired.
With their flat back sides they are very easy to mount right up again a wall to help them disappear into your home cinema space. The 6.5-inch injection-molded woofer with butyl rubber surround you can get down to a very convincing 40Hz bass but for the low rumble and earth rattling lows you will want to pair these with a 10 or 12-inch sub with a frequency gate. The mid/high frequency horn with neodynium magnet tweeter stays nice and controlled even at high volumes.
To make sure your center channel is in tonal alignment with the FH-65B you should pair these with the BIC America FH6-LCR center channel speaker. And if you want to go BIC all the way pick up the BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer to complete the package.
Though BIC doesn’t have the promotional flare of some other speaker manufacturers, or the ad budget to support, they make some very good speakers for the price points they serve.
