This sub is a bad MF! It has tremendous bass output at very clean levels. I do notice however that low's in the 20 hz - 33 hz range are lacking, but most music doesn't use tones that low anyway. I live in an apartment bulding, and I know for a fact that this bad boy would shake the whole 3 story building from front to back. Get it, it rox!

I am looking for some advice. I bought an Infinity BU120 recently for my home theater. I found the power of my BU120 stays on and making a very noticeable humming noise all day long even my HT is not in use or power on. Is it normal? Does it have auto power off capability? What can I do to turn off the humming noise other than unplug it?

I bought the BU-120 to enhance the low-end bass of my Bose AM5 system and it is doing the job superbly. Combined with my Harman/Kardon-AVR65, this combo is really a knock-out! The BU-120 frees my AVR65 to concentrate it's considerable power to the highs, mids and mid-bass of the rest of my system. The result is even more clean LOUD sound with no distortion whatsoever. Very impressive for a modestly priced system.
I found that the best way to integrate the BU-120 into a system that already has an integrated sub is to not only use the sub pre-out, but the line inputs as well. This allows precise control to the rest of my speakers using the sub's crossover. The AM5 does not do a particularly great job at handling really low bass, but the BU-120 really fills the gap. I set all of my speakers (front, center and rears) to SMALL (in the AVR's surround setup) and all low frequencies below 100hz are routed to the sub pre-out, the AM5's bass module handles the rest.

I got the BU-120 @ netmarket.com for around $220...

I have been using the BU-120 for about a month and I love it. My wife hates it. With that in mind I have to keep it. It slams the whole house, rattles the glasses in the kitchen cabnets and scares the cat. I have it hooked up through the high level inputs and run a pair of infinity SM-85's off the outputs. Sounds great to me. I'd recommend a BU-120 to anyone looking for an affordable Sub. Word of Advice, I would recommend pluging in your Sub to a different outlet or circut than your stereo system. On a heavy bass note, the BNU-120 sucks enough current to dim the lights in my living room. If on the same circut as your stereo, it will rob power from it.

I just got this sub 2 days ago from Net Market for $219.00 delivered actually ordered the BU-2 but this arrived instead. I have listened to music and watched a couple of DVD'S this thing puts out the bass. I only have the volume set at 1/8 of the way up and it shook the walls(It woke my daughter up)when I was watching Blade. It compliments my Infinity Ref 2000.4 mains which lacked bass. The rest of my system consists of
Yammaha RXV-795
Infinity CC-3 Center Channel
Polk Audio LSFX Switchable Dipole/Bipole surround effects speaker
Toshiba SD-3109 DVD player
Best sub you can buy for the price ! Just my 2 cents.
5 stars for this value pounding sub!!!

WOW, i just received my bu-120 from Netmarket today, i got it for 248 with shipping. I've listened to it for 2 hours maybe, ive tried hip hop, house techno, and watched a parts of a couple movies. I have but one word to describe it "What?" thats all i can say when i listen, what is it doing now? what? where did that sound come from? what? i didnt even know that sound was there. Or in other words after lookin foward to buyin this thing for 2 months now i wasnt let down in the least, as a matter of fact im shocked at how much bass it puts out. I had to actually turn down the bass. I've never had to do that before. You see im a very big fan of lots o bass but this thing gives that a whole new meaning. I could go on for another 1000 words decribing this thing to you but ill just leave it hear with 5 speakers for sound and about 10 if you factor in value.

Hello friends. I have the BU-120 from netmarket for about $250. Man doesit slam bass in your face. I also have a Kenwood VR-306 500w a/v reciver.
I usually turn it up only half way on live or hall. On Pro Logic, 3 stereo, and 2 channel I only turn it up 40% of the way. I don't even have
a monster cable like every one eles I've talk to. I simply use my playstation
rca jacks. But when I get around $40 I"ll buy the monster cable. Any ways
For $250 this sub is great. I recommend it for any one with a low budget
or that could use some bass. It also makes things sound clearer too. I
play video games on it and man does it really sound good. The music part
is alright but could be better. As my first subwoofer I rate this at 5 for
perefect. I jus need to get the right cables and it should even sound better.
I only wish the sub came with its own. goodbye

Got the Infinity BU-120 for my home theatre setup. OK for movie, but for music it does a poor job. The bass BU-120 produces is mushy, if not boomy. If you like clear, punchy bass, look elsewhere.
Another weakness is it hums. For HT purpose or daytime high volume listening, this is not a problem. However, it becomes annoying when ambience sound level is quiet down. There is no manual or auto power switch, another shortcoming.

A sidetrack -- answer to a previous reviewer's cable upgrade wish, no, using Monster cables won't give you a better sound, BU-120 or anything else.

I recently got the BU-120. My receiver (JVC 888VBK) has a sinle sub woffer output. The instruction asked to connect a Y connector( 1-male & 2 female) and use 2 RCA cable to connect to the left & right inputs of the Sub. My sub is a distanct from the receiver. Can I use a single RCA from the reciver to the sub and use a Y conenctor (2-male & 1-female) to hook into the sub?

It's a cool one, and I get it for $172 delivered. Sound very nice inmy room... the only bad thing is that I can't turn it on to the highest
volume :( Listening to rock music with it is a good experience (Van Halen)
but I'm still looking for the optimal placement... in term of cabling.
having try movies yet, but I'll do it later.

My audio setup:
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V592
Speakers: Infinity MPS Home threater speakers
