Just setup the M&K 750THX system... I have the complete system including the sub. The system is great for both cinema and music. It's hard to believe that much rich sound can be produced from a relatively small package. I have run both midrange and high end preamps and amps to these speakers and they performed flawlessly. I leave the sub set on THX mode and never adjust it. You really don't have to for either cinema or music. If your looking for a matched speaker system, look no further. The sub, fronts, center, and rears are well matched and produce rich vibrant sound that fills the entire room not just a small "sweet spot".

This system has only one purpose.... to make you part of the movie. I recently bought the M&K 750THX system and paired it to an NAD T770 dolby digital receiver. It is absolutely mind blowing! The sounds are so crisp and clear! The surround speakers are suspiciously small and direct-radiating as opposed to dipoles (or even fancy tripoles), but these suckers do their job without hesitating. They make you part of the movie. And the sub! The SUB! When watching movies, the explosions sound fabulous. When I was shopping for speakers, I fell in love with these the first time I heard them. When I went into another store, i told the salesman that I was looking for home theater speakers. He played movies on Definitive Tech. speakers and Klipsch speakers. The expression on my face told him that I wasn't convinced. He asked me why and I told him that they didn't even compare to the M&K's. He brought me closer and told me that there was nothing out there that could beat the M&K system for the price. And that is how I fell in love and brought home the M&K system... my baby!

Strength:

Great for cinema and CD's
Price,Qulity and Value

Weakness:

None so far

Absolutely outstanding for movies as well as for music.
The soundtracks for the Mummy, Lethal Weapon 4 and
Lost In Space all sounded phenomenal. Compared to a
Kef Ref.103/3 system I was using previously, the
center speaker and surrounds performed flawlessly. Overall
I prefer the Kefs for music but the M&K's hold their own.

I power them with Sony's 555es using the optical connection
to a Sony 650 dvd.
Highly recommend.

Strength:

Excellent dynamic movie sound, very rich smooth music and vocals, highly accurate sound reproduction.

Weakness:

None

After careful evaluation and auditioning of systems from B&W, Polk, Mirage, Infinity, Definitive, and M&K, I bought the M&K 750THX system. These speakers are so accurate and dynamic they make movies jump into your living room. They have a very wide soundstage covering a wider area of the room. The sound, at times, appears to jump off the speakers into the room....very cool! If you like action movies you'll appreciate the fast hard-hitting driver response. On quieter films the dialog is crisp, clear and life like.

For music, these speakers are some of the best I've heard. On 2-channel music they match and image so well that the music just hangs in the air. On 5-channel music they are hands down the best I've experienced. Playing DTS CD's I feel as though I'm in the studio with the band.

Be sure to get them in the high gloss black finish with the matching stands – they are beautiful! For the best sound make sure to level match them with a meter.

Just get them you won’t be disappointed!

Strength:

Incredible detailed sound. Loud and accurate.

Weakness:

Can't stop listening to them. Cause neglect of girlfriend and outside world.

I have had these speakers since last august and I have never been so thrilled with any peice of audio equipment that I have owned, and especially for the price! These speakers continue to amaze me and my friends with their dynamic highs, mids, and thunderous bass! A real steal! Don't hesitate when buying them. I AM SERIOUS!!!!

Strength:

This is an amazing speaker system. It's ability to throw up a huge soundstage and reveal finer details is awesome. With proper amplification, they also have outstanding dynamic range.

Weakness:

As referred to in previous reviews, they do not have the normal mid-bass bloat most other speakers have. Personally, I would not replace accuracy with an editorialized version of the bass.

This is an outstanding speaker system. I could not find anything as good anywhere near the price. I auditioned a ton of speakers including Kef, B&W, Monitor Audio Silver Series, Mirage, and Definitive Technology. None where as accurate and I was completely amazed at the lateral imaging and depth. BEWARE OF MAGAZINE REVIEWS! I currently read Home Theater and Stereophile's Guide to HT. Home Theater raved about the Monitor Audio Silver's but I just didn't hear it. In fact, they sounded very boxy and seemed to have a midrange coloration. HT gave a less than favorable review to the 750Thx which makes me wonder if they aren't driven by advertising dollars, especially since Atlantic Technologies can do no wrong in their eyes. However, the 750's were Stereophiles editor's choice speakers. I guess the real clincher for me was the 750's ability to reproduce piano, which is a excellent test for the tonal balance of the speaker. I may be exaggerating a bit, but the 750's seemed to get it as right as the Wilson Watt-Puppy's I listened to just for the heck of it recently.

I purchased these speakers to replace my Definitive Technology BP-10's. Although I enjoyed the BP-10's, the presence of the rear firing drivers always seemed to muddy up the image and fine detail in my listening room. The M&K's just blow the BP-10's away on fine detail, imaging, depth, and dynamic range. The M&K's have so much depth and fine detail, sometimes I even mistake sounds on movie tracks for something actually occurring in my house. Now that should say something for the accuracy of this speaker.

Strength:

Awesome sound, easy to place.

Weakness:

Surround speaker brackets are kinda cheezy. They are for a flat wall mount and are hard to get flat with the wall with decent 12 ga. wire.

I demo'd so many speakers and nothing compared. Once I heard these there was no going back. It's funny how sales people will try to sell you what ever they need to move out of their store. These guys will try to convince you that something else sounds better. You be the judge. If your ears tell you they're good, buy them. Take your time and listen to whatever you can afford. My room is 21 x 15 and I can't even turn them all the way up, or should I say I don't need to. I love these speakers and have absolutely no regrets.

I checked everything I could get my ears on and nothing compared with these speakers in this price range.

Strength:

Soundstage, dynamics, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A MOVIE THEATER!

Weakness:

IMHO, cabinet could use a more aesthetically pleasing design

I auditioned the M&K system this weekend and found it to be spectacular.
My question is, did anyone compare them to the NHT VT 1.2 system? I'd be curious to see how they compared as I'm probably going to buy one or the other.
I will be driving either package with a Pioneer Elite 027tx reciever.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Cheers.
