Strength:

Excellent Vocal Reproduction from the horns
Nice Soundstage
Price

Weakness:

Can be a little bright

These are the most amazing mid-priced speakers that you can find. I simply _love_ my klipsch speakers. I have the full set for my home theatre, except for the Klipsch Subwoofer. Klipsch does not make the best subs. They compression horn tweeters are just amazing.

For $500 retail on a pair of these, you just can't get anything better. Not until u start spending upwards of $1200 i think that you would find something better, and even then, it would probably be another pair of Klipsch Speakers. Maybe i am a little bit biased, but i haven't found any speakers which sound quite as full and rich as Klipsch. The beautiful smooth low sounds with the nice crisp highs.

what is lacking tho is a tight midrange sound.. but i listen to a lot of Techno, so i'm more concerned with low and highs.. whereas i've experienced not-so-good experiences with music that is more guitar heavy, but the scratchy kind.. Aerosmith and Oasis are two that come to mind.. which is a shame because i like their music a lot.
This could also have to do with my receiver, as it is a entry level Sony DD/DTS receiver.

Strength:

Great Price - $209.00/each
Awesome sound
Great for jazz/classic rock/blues
Vocal Reproduction

Weakness:

None yet

I just purchased these today to replace my Optimus Pro LX-5's (which are still awesome little speakers.) My LX-5's performed poorly with music, but awesome for HT. Anyways, I picked up the Klipsch's this morning. I auditioned these speakers along with a pair of Definitive Tech and a pair of Infinitys for about an hour and a half this morning.

I can't believe how good these sound for the price! I would say that the main strength of these speakers are vocal reproduction. You MUST get the "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" soundtrack CD and listen to Alison Krauss's tracks on that CD with these speakers! Simply awesome. I also played around with the "Independence Day" DVD with these today. Again, very awesome! Get the SC-1 center channel to match. I did. I like the fact that the center uses the same exact components as the towers. Transistions across the screen, from speaker to speaker are extremely accurate.

Strength:

They look great, bright highs, pounding bass, great soundstage, and PRICE!

Weakness:

I wish they were a foot taller, but nothing a speaker stand didn't fix

Man, I can honestly say these are the best speakers for the price out there. I got them with a 10% off discount at AudioKing Roseville from a sales guy named Dallas. These things sound great. I listend to several other speakers (Klipsch SF2, DefTech BP 6B, DefTech BP 8B, and Boston VR950) but the SF1s sounded so much better. Brighter highs, and more bass. What more could you ask for? Well, how about the pair for over $100 cheaper then all the others? The only speakers that sounded better were some with powered subs, and they were in the $500-800/each range. If you like the brighness of Klipsch speakers these are the ones to get. I really can't believe how cheap these were, what a deal!

I purchased this pair of speakers about 2 weeks ago and I am still impressed by the quality of the sound they produce. These replaced a pair of Bose bookshelf speakers that I bought before I really became interested in building a home theater system. These speakers definitely blow anything Bose makes away. For the money you can't beat what these speakers have to offer.

After listening to these speakers for a while and comparing them to my old shelf speakers I came to the conclusion that they kick ass. Big improvement in my music enjoyment. I only wonder if they have enough base. Was not able to fill it at all. Think with a music oriented sub these speakers would sound perfect. Cant rate them as high as my Dad's old ohm speakers though.

Strength:

Amazing Bass! Killer Vocals, Very natural Highs, Price

Weakness:

NONE!

Any negetive reviews have to be from people who really don't own these or have lousy room acoustics. They Simply blow away anything in this price range! The bass these produce is amazing coming from such a small driver. They show a high level of quality in all respects. Thump on the cabinets and there is no vibration. Fit and finish is flawless. Go Listen for yourself, better yet bring them home. They sound better in a real world environment.

Weakness:

Forced me to upgrade the rest of my HT system

Prior to getting these I was using an all in one Infinity set up for my fronts, center and rears. This forced me to go out and buy a powered sub. I enjoyed my HT, which is powered by an Onkyo TX-DS747 receiver, but after a year (and a better job) I opted for more for my fronts. I finally decided to upgrade and I looked at the usual suspects: Polk, Bose, B&W, etc. I stopped by this HT specialty store and saw the Klipsch. Now I had known Klipsch was known for power (from their computer speakers), but I had no idea their HT speakers were this good. When the salesman put on a demo for me, the other, similar models of speakers sounded like they were on mute next to the Klipsch. I immediately bought the pair and was bowled over when I connected them to my Onkyo. I put on Gladiator and I sat there amazed listening to the sounds coming from these speakers. I will have to go out an upgrade my center and rears to keep up. I am notoriously singel-minded when it comes to eletronic equipment (receivers always Onkyo, DVD players always Toshiba, TV's always Sony), so that salesman is about to get more of my money.

Strength:

The ability to produce both sheer dynamics and finesse, imaging, bass response, stunning clarity.

Weakness:

A little bit pricey ($1200+ Canadian).

I looked at these speakers at a local stereo shop in my quest to find the foundation main speakers in my future HT setup. Though I currently own a pair of KG 2.5's, I decided to head to the Klipsch dealer last so that I could audition the competition first. This was a good idea. For the price, there aren't any speakers that I have listened to that can match the SF-1 in terms of dynamics, while maintaining finesse at low volumes too. The pair I auditioned were being powered by a 50 watt per channel Bryston pre-amp/amplifier combo and a Yamaha CD player. The only quibble I had about the system is the cheapo Yamaha CD player that was being used, it probably held back the sound slightly compared to a NAD or Marantz spinner. The first cd I listened to was Chris Issak's "Speak of the Devil". I have always found his voice to be too complex for lesser speakers to reproduce properly, but not for the mighty Klipsch's. They were able to reproduce every subtlety and emotion in his voice quite convincingly, without "colouring" the sound at all, which is a character trait that other manufacturers seem to associate with Klipsch. BUNK! I wouldn't bother auditioning any other speaker in this price range, they simply can't compete in both 2ch stereo or surround sound sytems alike. With their high efficeincy, bass extension, and huge soundstage, Klipsch gets my vote for top dog yet again with their killer SF1's. KLipsch has still managed to capture the "Command Performance" with these bad boys!
