Strength:
Great bass, no distortion at plaster-loosening levels,
Weakness:
Sharp and tinny top end. I don't get the moral outrage of these guys who say the speakers are rubbish, then state their intention to sell them on to some other schmuck (hopefully for a profit)! Anyway, if you believed all that "over-delivery" stuff from two guys in a van, it's a cheap lesson at $200. As to the speakers, they're great for the money. I haven't used them long, they're maybe gonna blow tomorrow, but they sound as good as my Sony SSG4's and they could have been plant pot holders. Similar Products Used: Sony SSG4 |

distorted some guy pulled up in a white GMC conversion van, got out and dragged the huge speaker, (which was in a sealed box) and asked me if i wanted to buy them, i said, how much, he said well i brought this order to the harb (bar) and I had 12 bu tthey only wanted 6 so i have to get rid of the last 6 or they just get thrown out, sounded stupid, but he didnt ask for much. I said 50$ he said, no way man, i said 50$ each, he said no...i said 200, hes like man thats cheesy, but alright, so there he left with my 200 bones and me with 2 huge speakers. Strength:
ok (i guess)
Weakness:
tell them you''ll pay 50 bucks for 2 or they can shove it!!!! I too have become a victim of these back door bandits! They look like good speakers and they don’t sound half bad. I came on the net to see what kind of a good deal I got on these “$1,350” speakers. I was “abducted by a blue GMC van and convinced by a crack attic that I was getting a sweet deal. If I ever see these guys again they will wish they never came to my town! |

Well, like the rest of you I bought the same speakers but by far got the best deal. From the start I knew there was something up and he wanted to get rid of them quick. I told him I could get $500, when I couldn''t. He was in such a rush that I figured that he would mabey take anything. I told him all I can get is $140 and he said ok. Took them home and read this crap, but hey $140 can''t complain. |

Strength:
Get a 600W or higher receiver and they sound great. Make sure you break them in properly though.
Weakness:
Don''t jam them full blast the day you get them.. Use them regularily for a month to break them in. These speakers aren''t too bad. I''ve seen worse deals flying around toronto. For anyone who thinks they sound like crap.. you might want to check out your receiver. If you''re ouputting from a 100W receiver then yes they will be distorted. Similar Products Used: I''ve seen lots of speakers like these. |

Strength:
loud, decent bass in corner, much better with the cross overs, look nice.
Weakness:
still got ripped off. not very dynamic, still parts of songs are earpiercing well, its the exact same thing, they pulled up to me at tim hortons, showed me a bill and everything. After reading all of these that you guys wrote I can''t believe I didn''t see this on the news or in the paper or something. That would have saved my $400. Anyway after driving around looking for them for a couple of hours I though well maybe I could sell them for at least what I paid. When I got them home I hooked them up to my 1979 pioneer 200 watt per channel amp, the thing ways 70 pounds. anyway, it powers my two cerwin vega at-15s with ease. These grafdales were much better than I thought. They can go quite loud with no distortion. They have good bass if in a corner. It still pisses me off that I paid $400 for them but I guess they''re worth a couple of hundred. I souped them up a bit by putting in crossovers I had laying around and wow, even better. It takes away some of the high pitch ear piercing sound. I don''t seem to be getting the distortion you guy are talking about, they''re accually quite clear, just not very dynamic. When compared to my cerwins, of course no comparison. Anyway if someone wants''em, let me know Similar Products Used: cerwin at-15s, and 3-way ten inch woofer cerwins, closer in size but still no comparison. |
