I think its funny bringin these speackers home, going to yahoo and typ`in the model and gettin this site to find out everyone has this problem. HAHAHA I payed 250, thats it. I feel for you people that paid over 400-500 bucks.
I seen the paper, they worked for global audio blah blah blah, same as everyone else
Its Jan 19th, here happened on Jane-Finch North York
Hey, the box is friggin nice worth 100 bucks for sure alone, i`d say.
I`m not a audio nut, i just like a good tune to be able to bump a house
and these do it. I`m content. Like why would i be mad? they work, and I didnt expect a 1500 buck speaker, long as i got my money worth which i did.
They`ll look nice in the corner of the living room.
I`d buy another pair for 250 too, but definalty no more. If i see them again, i`ll question them for ya.
Ohh, well i`ll just put a tracking device on them so you guys can find there hide out lol.

Ok I too bought my speaker out of the back of a van. Two guys stating that they were delivery guys for a company called Global Audio here in toronto. As I was getting into my car they approached me saying they had high end audio speakers for sale. They said that they retailed for $1499.95 each and how they got them was that they picked up 12 earlier when the boss was only expecting 10. I seen the invoice and all, even a glossy sale sheet showing off the specs of the Grafdale Gd 507. They seem extremely desperate to unload them stating they had to get back to work and if the boss seen the extra speakers he would take them. I was suspicious but bought them anyway for 400 for the pair. The name and numbers they gave me were fake. So I already believed I was robbed until I hooked them up. I took them over to my girls house where I used her mini stereo system where they performed quite well. These are obviously not worth 3000 but probably around 500 for the pair. The sound was not distorted at all.

Strength:

decent bass, ok midrange, solid construction (trust me, ive dropped them)

Weakness:

high end (distortion, static, cutting in and out)

well, here's the deal, i bought these over a year ago for 300 cdn. after a lot of usage, they still sound alright, not the greatest, but you can definitely listen to them. i've moved on to energy xl:26's for my main system, but my old-school 2-channel system (mainly for tapes and vinyl) still cranks these speakers. i have a 100w/c amp on them, and they can handle it all the way up. i thought they would have blown by now, but they're still kicking. the sound at high volumes is pretty sketchy. if the tune has a lot of bass, you won't notice the inadequacies, but anything with high end (guitars, synth, vocals etc) sounds staticy and dull. if you can't afford decent speakers (like me a year ago), then find these guys and talk them down to 250 or 300. for that price, you can only get a pair of decent bookshelfs anyway and these do sound better than that. for the average high school/college/university kid with no money who loves music, these are fine. besides, when you're 20 years old, all that matters is volume and these can deliver that (i have the "disturbing the peace" ticket to prove it). but remember, these are a temporary solution to an audio problem. for god sake's buy something better eventually. and DO NOT pay more than 300 for them. if you can get them for less, they are actually a steal, because a little bookshelf with a 51/2" woofer cannot deliver the same sound a 12" woofer can, no matter who makes it.

Same deal as everyone above. Two guys, a van, two speakers, and $400 down the drain.

But I did manage to scrounge up some info so here you go:
1) Two white males one with a dirty blonde pony tail the other with short black hair. Blondy does the talking.
Both around 6 feet and around 190.
2) Driving a green GMC Safari Ontario liscence plate number AHBS 472
3) Claimed to be working for "Westmont Corporation" Richmond Hill.
4) Alias used "Mike" and "Angelo"
5) Fake phone numbers used.
If ya EVER see them, please follow and give me an adress There's money in it based on how good your info is.

Sounds somewhat better than a set of 2 dollar earphones

Weakness:

I could have gone to K Mart and picked up better speakers

These speakers ARE a scam. I maxed out my credit cards to buy these. Luckily, I only had about $500, if you want to call that lucky, because these speakers aren't worth it,not even close. I was told by the thugs in the vans that they use these at AMC theatres. What a joke, these speakers can't even fill up my 150sq ft bedroom, let alone a movie theatre. I hooked these up to my amp, cranked the volume up halfway, and what do I get? Distortion. I can't even hear the music, I'ts just a bunch of jumbled noise, and it isn't even very loud. I admit that they don't sound too bad at low volumes, but for the size of the things, you'd think they'd deliver some juice. To all those white van guys, think about getting out of the business. I am struggling to get through university and I needed that money and I wasted it on CRAP. Should have known better though. I give these speakers five stars alright, negative five.

these speakers are a scam. there is no doubt about it. they are constructed out of crappy parts, that are made to "look good" and trick the uneducated potential speaker buyer.

they were probably not stolen, however they were definitely sold to you illegally since they misrepresent the quality of the speakers.

the speakers themselves probably cost $20-$30 a piece and usually sell to buyers at $100-$250 a piece, leaving a huge profit for the scammer involved.

do not believe any of these other posts raving about the quality of the speakers. they are either involved in the scam, or don't know anything about speakers. look at it this way, i have nothing to gain by telling you they're a scam - they've got everything to gain by telling you they're not.

Strength:

A lot of effort was put into the sales pitch

Weakness:

lack of quality

I bought 2 of the GD 507 speakers out of the back of a metallic GMC van with tinted windows. Global Audio was the name of the company, whom supposedly made an error in ordering the speakers, and when 10 were ordered, 14 were loaded into the van. I was filling up with gas in scarborough, and ended up buying these 2 speakers for 295 total cost. That was with me saying I didn't have any cash. They followed me to my bank, which was about a 10 minute drive. Definitely committed sales people.
Just ask yourself, doesn't it seem a little strange to buy high end speakers at a gas station?

Large profit in a short amount of time = )

I bought these speakers from two guys in a green gmc van about a week ago. They showed me the brochure and the listing price for these speakers. The price was $2500 Cdn. They offered me $600 dollars for the speakers. I said i didn't have that much. Then they offered me $400 dollars. I thought about it and thought hmmm, maybe its a scam. They showed me the speakers and connected them to there Car radio. The speakers worked and they looked p retty good. So I bought them. Later in the week i was trying to get some information on these speakers from various sources. Some said I got scammed and some told me that they have heard of these speakers and they are pretty good. I called around various music stores and one of them accepted to see the speakers. They told me to come in so they can see the speakers. The guys in the music store analyzed the speakers and told me that they were pretty good. They offered me $1000 dollars for them. To the guys in the green gmc van, I thank you for selling me these speakers and giving me a $600 dollar profit. If it was a scam, then hey. I think i scammed the guys who originally sold them to me. I give this 5 stars out of 5 for the amount of time i've spent and the amount of money i've earned. Kudos!!!!
