Like the bass

Weakness:

High end is too brillant

OK, I fell for the same stuff. Paid $300.00 for the pair. They were to replace an old pair of Marantz speakers (20 years old). They sound alot better than what I had on before. I do have to balance the sound from the amp. So they serve my purpose. Though I don't like the sales tactic I am not as pissed off as the rest of you.

Good Scam

My brother in law just bought these today and asked me to check them out. I was skeptical because I never heard of the brand and how he was suckered. Same white van story here. They saw him driving a BMW and gave the pitch..."You look like you enjoy nice things, I've got these extra speakers because the compnay made an invoice mistake" Paid $500 bucks and we followed the directions to get his money back, FedEx'd out the paperwork today. What a joke of a compnay! Dont be suckered!

So let it be written, so let it be done, 120 % Junk, got scammed by the white van, hooked up the speakers, sound like 120 % s--t, barely legal sales tactics, equivalent crime to deportation of 20 million people during the Soviet Union, equivalent to Americans killing Indians in the 16th Century, THESE THIEVES MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE !

Strength:

Lovely green color on the Merc van

Weakness:

I have a weakness for exerting physical trauma to dodgy scammers (and a weakness for blonde chicks)

Recently I was approached by 3 dodgy types in a green Merc van at Macquarie Shopping Centre - a mall in Sydney, whilst parking my car. I decided to humour them (knowing it was either rubbish or hot goods they were trying to scam) and got the usual - the brilliant review in an audio mag, the hard sell and promises of exceptional quality, a great warranty etc... you get the picture.

They first offered the speakers at $500 each... (who sells speakers one at at time???) and then I bargained hard to get them down to $400 cash for 2! Finally they agreed and so I told them to ask the wife for permission (she was standing next to me and hates me spending money on my hobbies!!). Anyway, I got a few minutes of childish pleasure from wasting their time and winding them up (and getting out of grocery shopping). Finally, I took the number plate and contacted the relevant authorities to report the thing - damned losers.

These guys are good at what they do so beware. They give a credible story but when you look at the big picture, selling AUD$2500 speakers from the back of a van for a few hundred bucks has to be a giant rip-off. Have fun with these pricks if you want a laugh but don't part with your dough - it only perpetuates these crappy scams.

Speaking with a real audiophile mate of mine, these speakers are perfect for those with total hearing impairment and a vacant space in the lounge room.

yup! I fell for it...but lucky enough to get my money back. Hopefully, I will run into these people again...I'll let them persuade me that they are doing me a favour, let them load them into my car, and I'll drive one of the guys to the bank while the other guy follows me in the van...can't wait to see what happens when I pull into the police station...

Strength:

Mighty Mercedes Van

Weakness:

Deal, Feel, Sound, ETC

Damn I can't believe I fell for this one.... After 10+ years of being a audiophil, I go and do something stupid like this. The white Mercedes van with a logo "Dynalab" at the parking lot of the Macquarie Shopping Center in Sydney, Australia.

They had these speakers and one other kind (Can't remember what it was). They showed me a tiny ad on the back of an old stereo magazine (Come to think about it, I never heard of that magazine) and they said "It's from the USA mate!!!"

No matter WHAT they say, trust your instinct. They are probably worth about $300 or less per pair. I bought one, listen for 30 minutes and returned it in 24 hours after reading these reviews.

On the box it says "Computer optimized crossover on Military spec PC board" but when you open it, There ain't no stinkin crossover PCB. It's got a single capacitor in series with the tweeter. No circuit whatsoever on the bass cone. Their so-called "patent pending" grill design - I thought it was always better to listen without the grill- it's nothing but a piece of wood with black cloth over them. Bass drivers are not flush with the baffle-Even cheap $100 speakers do that. Cabinet is made out of cheap low density particle board, and is empty, resonating everywhere. No stuffing, no nothing. They used cheap 20 cents/m connecting wires.

If you bargained hard and bought a pair for less than $300, then you might want to keep it. Fair price for the material and labors... If you paid more than that and if you are lucky enough to read this within 3 days of your purchase, contact them immediately for a refund. Otherwise... try to be happy and live with the speaker... Don't even think about selling this thing on the internet auction... people who are "internet" enough to go and buy stuff from internet auction probably have already read these reviews.

I too bought them from the two guys in the dynalab van. yeah it looked like a scam, but i didn't care i only spent 200 bucks on them and they're some of the best speakers i've ever heard. Some of you may have gotten screwed with a rotten pair, but not all of us.

Same story, white van, $1200 retail yours for only....
Well, I fell for it and lost $200. Luckily, I read the receipt and am in the process of getting a refund and will let you know how that goes. If I get any flack, I am gonna drive up there and shove them up Tom the salesman's ass personally. Keep your money guys, I got a good set of B&W 302's for that price and they truly do sound good for the money. Stick with the good stuff, and as always, you get what you pay for.

the speakers are still in the box. so, one day i'm in a mcdonald's drive thru in Ohio, and three guys in a green dynalab "jam enterprises" van from export, PA asks if i want a good deal on some speakers. i said i'd look at them. they say "we just finished a job here in ohio, have 2 extra pairs here and if we take them to our next job today here our boss will want them back." they said they couldn't go home cause they're out by pittsburgh. so they offer 600. i'm like, i can't do that, i thought they were bookshelfs or something, not high end stuff. i got them down to 250. i think i have a good deal and then i go home to look up what they're really worth, and stumble upon this site and f*$^! i fell for it, too. i was assuming that they were quasi-stolen and i was getting a good deal and i knew they were pocketing the cash. i didn't know that they were going to be driving around all day. dammit, i hope that they sound good at least when i hook them up.

Sounds good for the money

Weakness:

Sales tactics

Well when the two guys approached me, I was rather certain it was a scam of some sort. And, after reading this I am sure of it. However they sound better than the speakers I was using at the time and I can't afford what I really want right now so to me they are worth $200. I just hope nobody paid much more than that. :) Actually they sound decent, although they aren't worth $1200 in my opinion. They will never get much credit for their product with sales tactics such as this.
