SCAMMED LIKE THE REST OF THESE PEOPLE! CRAP SPEAKERS! The guys in the van said they were delivering them to SoundTrack, which I believed, because they were in the soundtrack loading docks. They said SoundTrack wouldnt accept them because they were already stocked 100%, and their Warehouse would not take them back either. So I gave em $375 for a pair, THEN found this website! Turns out they cashed my check TEN MINUTES after I wrote it, and the phone number they gave me was bogus.

Well like many of you, my friend and I while on our lunch together, we were approached by the infamous white van. The guys claimed that they had extra from a customer's order and that they needed to sell them right away so they wouldn't have to take them back to the warehouse. But anyway, he originally offered them to us for $800, not bad I thought considering they were retailing for $1200. I told him that I didn't have that kind of money, so he asked me what I could afford and I said $300 and so did my friend. He said that he would give them to us for $350 a set, the way these guys made it sound, we were getting a great deal. Fortunately, for me, I have to buy an engagement ring next week and get my license plate renewed so parting w/ any money is out of the question. But not so lucky for my friend, he had just bought a big screen, a dvd player and crappy set of surround speakers. So he was really into it and ufortunately he bought the speakers at $350. So thankfully for this site, I came and looked at your reviews and saw that it was a scam. I called my friend and told him to return the speakers ASAP. One interesting thing is that I was almost suckered into it and was willing to borrow some money from somebody and maybe a set that night after work. So I gave him my cell phone # and sure enough he called me. The good thing is I have caller ID and I was able to call him back. I told him no that I wasn't interested. But I didn't make it sound like I knew his scam, although I probably should have. If you guys want his phone #, please email and I will give you his. His name is Brian.

All of it!

I have always wanted to check these speakers out. I didn't know they were made from Dynalab. Anyways I was at work and my friend called me up and said there were these guys selling $2500 speakers for about $300.00. I was like "yeah right, whatever dude... it's gotta be a scam." They had this "extra pair" that given by mistake by the warehouse. I do not consider an audiophile (not yet anyways) and asked some basic questions about the speakers. The guy thought I was some cop and started to punk out. I told my friend not to buy it, and that was that. A few months later this white van pulls up where we were at and offered this incredible deal on these speakers... you know where I'm getting at? I asked him to pull out the speakers, and while his buddy was taking the speakers out of the box the other one showed me a pretty nice catalog of what the speakers would be going for retail, I forgot some incredibly outrageous price. Oh man when I saw these babies, I almost fell on my a--! That and punch the guy in the mouth for offering these pieces of s--t to me! Brass knobs(if they are brass) fading, paper woofers, crappy surrounds, cheap particle board....I could go on forever. I said no thanks maybe next time. Yeah right!I feel bad for the people who bought these speakers in good faith. There is no WAY IN THE WORLD, that these speakers could cost that much. Matter of fact I saw some guy trying to sell his for $350.00. I hope he doesn't know what he is selling, because I would think he was a f-----g d--k for trying to get that much. I have some Monitor Audio speakers and believe me while these aren't high end, they make those speakers sound like a car muffler! Please beware of these guys. Watch out for any guys in a van, go to sites like: hifi.com, jeff's audio sales(in San Diego, he is hella cool)., this site ,audioshopper.com or audiogon.com Don't go to some jerk on the street who could give a rat's a-- about your purchase.

None, Well that is not true - they make noise

Weakness:

Can be put together for $35 dollars worth of parts, lumber, and 4 hours of labour

A real ripoff. $1000.00 for what is basically a $35 ($50 tops) pair of RadioShack speakers? $1000.00 can get you an insanely good pair (even 5.1 setup) of loudspeakers. I know two people who have been taken by these scammers - one via eBay and the other by the Van Guys, don't bother. Cute name for the company, makes you think of Magnum Dynalab, and Dynaudio (two great companies) at the same time...real cute.

Yeak same story here, I was lead to believe that these speakers were top of the line, from 2 assholes posing as delivery personel for Dynalab. This is a good scam and hopefully I will get my money back since I just both them yesterday. Thanks to the guy that mentioned there is a law against this type of scam and that you can return the merchandise within 3 days.

I bought the speakers from a person selling in a van. At first I was skeptical but when I got the speakers home and listened to them I was glad that I bought them.

None so far . . .

I bought these speakers for 300 bucks off of a friend who bought them out of a white van for 250. I have not experienced any of the problems that other reviewers are finding. I have them hooked up to a Kenwood 100 watt per channel stereo receiver and I enjoy very robust sound without fail. Please remember that the mark-ups on stereo speakers are usually huge: 100-200 per cent. Furthermore, please remember that these speakers must be hooked up to at least 15 watts of power in order to function within their pre-established range. These speakers are definitely worth 200-300 bucks, but they are not suitable for low end receivers. I have them hooked up to a 400 dollar system and they sound great. The sound quality is very accurate, even at high volume levels. If anyone is experiencing sub-par sound from these speakers, please make sure you are pumping at least 15 watts per channel. If anyone needs further assistance, I'd be happy to respond via email. The white van issue is not a scam; although, they are assuredly making a good profit at even 200 dollars. Anyway, the speakers work great for me, so the 300 bucks was well worth it.

Mediocre by design

Louisville, KY 22 June 2000. Same song, maybe a different ending... two guys in a white van marked Dynalab... overstocked... could be "a deal" (I hoped)... okay. I needed speakers for my basement. I have Bose/Klipsch for the good system but needed something downstairs. Paid $500 for 4 (and threw in $20 for beer) cash. The speakers were boomy with minimal range. Might be worth $75 each retail. I decided to give the warranty a try and sent a certified letter to the Sharonsville, Ohio (greater Cincinnati) address for JAM Audio. No threats. Just "I want my money back". The guy called me back a week later-- "no problem- ship them back by UPS COD". I suggested they pick them up instead. Two guys in a white van picked them up at my office this morning and handed me a check for $520. Assuming it doesn't bounce (a class 4 felony in KY), I guess I'm a satisfied customer. You get what you pay for.
