READ THIS REVIEW!!! It's a good honest evaluation

Weakness:

read this and you'll know I DON'T WORK FOR DYNALAB

DON'T DISMISS THESE UNLESS YOU HEAR THEM. I bought a set for $200. Had em' about 3-4 months. They basically blew away my little Advents (not a great set) in range (bass) and clarity.I know they say this product is a sham, but I think they sound pretty good for the money. So does basically everyone who's heard them including one friend who i would consider a somewhat authority on the subject. In fact, a lot of people have wanted me to get them a pair after hearing them. I must say though, a few of my friends that got some weren't happy with them. I did not personally hear their speakers. Actually though, the ones they got were different from the ones i have. Mine are a more shiny woofer and black tweeter, and the ones they got have a dull rubber-looking woofer and "silver" ring in the tweet. I also got mine earlier so they are probably selling the silver tweeter ones now. I have heard other pairs of these and they do sound different (not necessarily bad). I thought mine sounded better but a friend buying the other set thought his sounded better. I didn't tell him my oppinion. So I don't have a great judgement on these newer speakers. I would beware of what you pay, but for $200 I feel I got a pretty good deal. MY RATINGS ARE BASED ON A $200 PRICE.

All of the five-star reviews below are lies! I listened to the speakers and was repulsed. I returned them and got my money, but one would have to return them in 3 days. Don't even waste your time. You can get better speakers for less such as Paradigm Titans, PSB, Tannoy, ...

I bought these speakers to add to my existing system. I think the sound is excellent and plan on buying more products from this company.

If you get conned by these people, make sure you read the bottom of the receipt and follow their directions. There are state and federal laws that protect the consumer against these types of "sales."

Luckily, I sent off my letter of cancellation via registered mail and the guy called me to arrange a time for them to pick up the speakers and to get my refund. (I almost got conned out of $300 but I got my money back.) The funniest thing was that one of the punks that was in the van tried to tell me that there was a $20 pickup fee because they had to drive so far (2 1/2 hours). I said, "I don't think so." and got in my car while they were still talking to me.

Thanks to AudioReview and all those that posted on here. Let's stick it to these bastards!

Sales tactics. The van thang!(homeboys shopping network)

After seeing the movie Gladiator,I was walking back to my truck.A year 2000 Kenworth T2000.I guess that they figured I had money.Little did they know that it was a company truck ,and not actually mine!Anyway there they were, white dynalab van and all.I got the feeling that they were waiting just for me!Turns out I was right! As I approached the truck,I was fed the (now infamous)overstock spiel. Curious,I listened to the fast talking, don`t give me time to think, sales pitch.Actually,I`m somewhat amused by these guys. After years on the road,I`ve encountered many of these individuals. So after seeing the magazine article, and pulling one out of the box to make sure that I was`nt getting A birdcage or something (as he put it!)We settled on $320 for the pair.I drove off thinking WOW!WHAT A DEAL!! Anyway, when I finally put power to them I noticed that the tweeter on one speaker was`nt working. So I took it out hoping it would be something simple, like a disconnected wire or something.Sure enough that was it!I fished for the wire, put it back on,crimped it a little so it would stay on, and presto! I was back in business. While I would be the first to admit that I`m nothing of an audiophile,I can honestly say that mine sound pretty good to me.My buddy Steve, who IS an audiophile says that they sound pretty good, considering what I paid!We both agree they`re not worth near $1200,but they say you get what you pay for,and I feel I did! I`ll agree that they are a little bassy and lacking in the midrange frequencies, but hey there is no midrange speaker!DUH! Two woofers and a tweeter naturally will be lacking in midrange sound.Apparently,There are different versions of this speaker.I`ve read ALL of the reviews previous to writing this.A couple have stated that there are knobs just below the grille to adjust the tone of the speakers. There are no knobs on mine. One review said that his grilles were wood framed, mine are plastic.I agree with one reviewer who stated that his speakers sound better with the grilles removed! While I admit that I did`nt get the FANTASTIC DEAL that I originally thought I did,I don`t feel ripped off either!I feel they`re worth what I paid, maybe a little more even. And while the sales tactics may be lacking in integrity, the people who buy these speakers off A van,in the middle of a parking lot, thinking they are getting one over,(along with the van guys)on a big company are also lacking integrity, myself included!!But I can`t help it,I`m always looking for a good deal.Sometimes I get it,sometimes not.I guess the cliche is true. Ya pays ya money,ya takes ya chances!I like mine, and I hope I`ve been of some help,to someone!HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

Reading these reviews has just ruined my day. Here I was looking forward to a tidy profit from these incredibly expensive speakers which cost me just £300 for a pair, and now I realise I am just another gullible fool. Well, at least I'm in good company. Unoftunately I was doubly scammed because I handed over £600 for TWO pairs of speakers. However, I don't take this kind of crap lying down. If anyone else in London/UK wants to do something about this, e-mail me on steveribs@hotmail.com

The product

A friend of mine has just been scammed - same old story and I wish I had had my mobile on when he called to ask my advice before he bought them. Once I found out I immediately told him to cancel the £200 cheque and try to call them to get his money £200 back. My advice is that consumers still have protection once the goods have been bought and can still get their money back if they give back the speakers in the condition that they were bought. I suggest that anyone who has bought them contacts the Office of Fair Trading or the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Anyone out there who thinks these speakers are good value for money, even at $100, is talking out of their proverbial. They produce terrible sound quality and are manufactured from extremely low quality components. Just reading their spec from their "website" is enough to tell anyone that it is a load of cobblers. For example, if anyone can tell me what a "Controlled Directivity™ integrated grille" is, other than a couple of slats pointing in a particular direction then I would be amazed. Ditto "High ModulusTM treated cone with butyl rubber surrounds" - other than a polypropylene cone that is no longer used in credible woofer designs.

These uckers have been scamming the world for years and need to be stopped. Unfortunately the only thing that will stop them is when gullible middle-aged men start thinking.
