LOOK NICE

Weakness:

BUILT IN XOVER WOOFERS ARE OF POOR MATERIAL, ETC

SAME OLD STORY, A FRIEND AND I WERE GOING TO LUNCH WHEN A WHITE DYNALAB VAN PULLS UP. QUOTE " HEY YOU GUY'S, ARE YOU ALL IN TO STEREO EQUIPMENT. WE HAVE TWO EXTRA PAIR OF SPEAKERS HERE WE WILL SELL YOU FOR 500. WE WERE GOING TO A JOBSITE AND THEY PUT TO MANY ON THE TRUCK." WELL I WAS KINDA LEARY AT FIRST I THOUGHT THEY MIGHT OF BEEN STOLEN BUT THEY LOOKED LIKE THE REAL THING WHITE VAN WITH DYNALAB ON THE SIDE, DYNALAB SHIRTS, PAPER WORK AND EVERYTHING ELSE. (NOW I NOW THEY ONLY THING THE WERE REAL OF WAS BEING CROOKS).WE THOUGHT WE WERE GETTING A GOOD DEAL AT 250 OR 500 FOR 2 PAIR. WELL IT TURNED OUT THAT I COULDN'T USE THEM BECAUSE MY HOME AWIA BOOKSHELF SYSTEM HAS A SPECIAL BASS XOVER FOR THE SUBS, AND THE SPEAKERS THAT CAME WITH THIS SYSTEM ARE BETTER THAN THE DYNALAB. AS FOR MY FRIEND HE LIKES HIS, AND THEY DO SOUND HALF WAY DECENT, BUT I HAVE NO USE FOR THEM AND I HATE THEY WAY WE WERE SCAMMED WITH THERE SALES PITCH. SO DO BEWARE OF THE WHITE VAN.
SO IF ANYBODY OUT THE WANTS A SET FOR $150 I SELL THEM MINE, ONE IS STILL IN THE BOX, NEVER BEEN OPENED.

I DID GET A RECEIPT AND I CALLED THE # ON IT TO TRY AND GET THEM RETURNED, THEY GUY SAID FAX OVER A COPY OF HE RECIEPT SO I DID THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO. I'M GOING TO CHECK ON IT AGAIN AND IF I HAVE TO I MIGHT DRIVE TO SHARONVILLE AND DROP THESE DAMN THINGS IN THERE LABS, AND DEMANED MY MONEY BACK.

"There's no point in trying to fight these guys or take legal action. The company is obviously world wide and has done it's homework."
Me thinks you might work for the company. But a scam is a scam, and although I am no legal expert I am certain that these sales methods are 'questionable' in the eyes of the law. The consumer still has a large amount of power in respect to this, and at the very least can report this company to the officials who can have the company removed from trading or fined.

My god...what strengths?

Weakness:

Um...sound perhaps?

I'm sorry....so sorry if you bought these. I had heard my frinds, he got for $300, and then met the clowns myself. I was accosted by these guys in Epping, a suburb of Sydney Australia, in a green van. If you see them ask them if you can have a look at them. I did :) they took them out of the box, and showed me "quality products moit!". When i pointed out these speakers had dodgy rubber rims and were crappy paer cones, and the titanium tweeter was in fact aluminium, the guy got really shirty and said he was in a hurry...not the best description for a man willing to take speakers out of heavy packaging. Anyhooo, i laughed he cried i offered $100 he said no i said cya later he said $120, i said nope he said okay $100, i said nope, he said $%#&& you then, i said okay, just don't give me the speakers, he left, i smiled. moral of the story, if you are buying speakers do some research on brand, model, and cheap places to buy the exact product. If you see these guys waste some of their time if you can, coz they waste everyone elses, but of course amuse yourself at their expense....the value rating below refers to the amusement of dealiong with these carnifolk.

Crap.

For those in Australia the distributor is:
Century Distributors PTY LTD
ACN 086 564 150
Unit 13/98 Old Pittwater Rd
Brookvale NSW 2100
Ph: (02) 9907 4988 Fax: (02)9907 3435

Unfortunately, there is only a 3 day money back guarantee. So, it may be too late for some of you. The penny dropped in time for me. I will be getting a refund in time. Although I did try to get it done today but the manager said they couldn't get the money for 2 days.

Regardless of whether I get the money or not. I will be reporting these guys to the Department of Fair Trading and The Australian Securities and Investments Commission for fraudulent sales. If enough guys complain with similar stories, hopefully these Fuc#s will have their company deregistered.

If I don't get my money back, I will be throwing away a little more money to make sure it costs these guys a lot more than it cost me.

Strength:

NONE - GARBAGE. These speakers are nothing more than Radio Shack (or an equivalent brand) floor standing monitors priced at a RIDICULOUS amount of money! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weakness:

For the price - GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE. Terrible sounding, badly designed, WAY WAY WAY overpriced, pieces of c**p. The specifications are false, and the sound of these pieces of s**t show it. For the amount of money you pay for these duds you could get yourself a set of wonderful sounding speakers (KEF, Sonus Faber, Monitor Audio, Polk, Sound Dynamics, Used Linn, Infinity, almost any brand! - I will say it again THESE SPEAKERS ARE GARBAGE!)

Garbage, garbage, garbage. You could assemble these noisemakers for no more than $50 tops. I know of four people who fell for this scam - three via eBay.com, the other was a victim of the "van guys". I WILL SAY IT AGAIN - GARBAGE. For more info contact the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.com. Numerous complaints have been filed already.

Strength:

Strong marketing push. aka. young guys in white vans soliciting random people.

Weakness:

The speakers are worth what the speaker boxes are worth. The speaker itself is junk.

I also fell victim to the "white van" sale. They used the same line; "I'm a delivery guy and they overstocked my van. I wanna dump these speakers quick and now." He showed me the ad and they showed a $1200 price tag. I worked him down to 200 and bought them. After reading the reviews, I took my hand written receipt and returned them. I heard that some law states that a consumer purchase must be allowed to be returned within 3 days of the purchase. The manager there: John Mehaffey told me that he didnt have any money and wanted to write me a check. I was suspicious, so I asked for a credit check or to take him to the bank. He got angry and started threatening me; "I have a right to take 10 days to process your return."
"I can tell you to take a hike and then what will you do?"

He finally offered to repay me in change. I took the change and ran. But their style of business prompted me to do a little research. Check out these sites:

Looking at the various reviews on this site, one has to realise that these SCAM artists or operating on a large GLOBAL scale. Can't anybody put a stop to this ?? I, myself paid A$800 for a pair, and was duped ! The sound is OK, definitely not worth the amount paid and YES - I was told they are "excess" stock and sold from the back of a van.

I don't have to hear these speakers to know they're bad. They'made from off the shelf car audio components! Don't be fooled by 5-star ratings - a guy from Holland and one from the USA writing EXACTLY the same comment? They should know better. Those people are dangerous. Thieves on the loose! Watch out!

Salesmen: They talk a good story
Product: Don't know - I got a refund

Weakness:

Don't know, but I believe the other opinions posted here

I GOT A REFUND... HERE'S HOW:

I still can hardly believe I was taken in! Usual story: Extra unpaid stock, £1600 studio speakers, drivers making a quick buck. When I went cold on the idea, the story became more legit. I wasn't impressed by the 'Loot' advert as they can be placed easily (and for free), but I was taken in by the ad in the glossy American magazine. I'm really glad I insisted on a receipt and got the company address. Paid £200 plus £10 beer money.

No problem getting a £200 cash refund from Kenny at the warehouse in Wimbledon. I think they accept that a percentage will get returned and they bank on many people not getting a receipt because they believe the goods are stolen, or being to embarassed/scared to try.

I've chalked the £10 up to experience.

I guess most people reading this have already been had so it's no use me advising you to make sure you get a receipt. However if you have got the receipt, go to the warehouse. It's right at the end of Waterside Way in Wimbledon. I went at 8:30am this morning and there was the boss, half a dozen salesmen and three vans. Don't be intimidated by the burnt out cars and loud music, they're all quite friendly and reasonable - they're just trying it on and laughing all the way to the bank.

I doubt you would get far without a receipt, but it might be worth a try, if you can identify the salesman/van and front it out with them.
