Strength:

Good bass, clear highs

Weakness:

not 3 way, but then again they're not center channel speakers either

I think you people are just upset at the way these speakers are sold. I think they are great and so do a lot of my friends. You can't buy good speakers at this price. If you tried to build them, just the cabinets alone would probably cost you $100.
If you haven't heard the speakers then why are you posting on this site? For those of you who still insist on posting w/o listening, at least leave an average rating since you're taking other people's words for the quality.
There's no point in trying to fight these guys or take legal action. The company is obviously world wide and has done it's homework.
I myself will continue to enjoy my speakers.

Seems like the Mcquarie shopping mall is their favorate ground... pack of rich people and flock of asian students loaded with their parent's money... Two months ago I got sucked into this scam and bought a pair for $400 plus some "trade-in"s (Amplifiers and stuff-Probably worth more than $500). It happened on Thursday, and I found out this site on Friday morning day after. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I nearly fainted, and dehydrated by sweating through my A**.

I called their office at once, and got to talk to the manager named "Eugene". He said that salesdude named "Jay, Mark and Matthew" who performed this con weren't their employees. I was like "What the???" And he said if I call them that night around 7PM, he'll help me to talk to Jay. I then called the "department of fair trading and consumer affairs" to see what kind of help I can get. The officer said "You have made a wrong decision, and there's nothing we can do.. I am aware of them but what they are doing is not illegal" c%#p. They know what they are doing.

I called them around 7PM. Answering machine. 7:10PM, another answering machine. 7:20PM another answering machine... then at 7:30 I finally got to talk to this person "JAY". I said I just want my money back because of this this that and that. Difficult part was the "traded-in"s... he immediately said "They are all sold for $200 moit!" I said if I don't get everything back I'll have to bring my lawyer. He said "Hey man, It's Friday and I am just having some beer with my mate and we'll have to do this next week", but what about my "3 day money back guarantee??" he goes don't worry about it since I made my first contact within 3 days. We made an appointment to meet on the following Monday night at 7PM at their office in PittWater.

Their office is near Warrangah mall. It looks like a decent sized office with proper signs and everything. I waited in the parking lot from 6:30 PM. Guess how many white Mercedes vans pulled over.. 7!!! All with "Dynalab" sign on! 7 of these vans are crusing all over the streets of Sydney... All of sudden the office became a swarm of all these "JAY" dudes... about 20 of them, plus a dog.

I waited until 7PM sharp. Then I walked into the office and found my "JAY". I had print out of this webpage and the receipt on my hand. He brought out all my traded-in stuff (which he said were sold for $200) and gave me my $400. Then he goes "Is that your lawyer paperwork stuff"?, and after loading all my stuff to my car, I said "you might wanna read this" and handed over the printout. Afraid of getting gang-banged by all those 20+ Jays plus the dog, I walked out and drove off as fast as I could.

I was unlucky then lucky enough... You may wanna bring your fattest friends and Karate Sensei over when you go demand your money back. Don't do it alone.

Too many to list

My story is the same as the ones above... 2 guys in a white Dynalab van from "Jam Enterprises" (a retail audio store in Cincinnati) caught me in a Kroger parking lot saying they had some high-end speakers that were "overstocked" on the van... yeah, I fell for the sales pitch and gave them $500 since the speakers were apparantly valued at over $1200 and they were supposed to be better quality than my Polk Audio speakers-- yeah, right! Anyway, I want to get in touch with some of you other individuals that want to get your $$ back, or more importantly, sue these guys and destroy their business so no one else gets ripped off... please email me at "marknmax@earthlink.net" -- I've already contacted the Better Business Bureau and consulted with some lawyer friends. I've also contacted Jam Enterprises and plan on ruining their business too. Let's do something about this.

Weakness:

I paid $450 for a pair and one woofer was blown before I even got it! But I did keep my receipt and got a brand new pair free!

I dont see what the big deal is. I love a deal. Yeah I admit maybe they could have a better approach then pulling me out of traffic but I like my pair. Where else do you get a 5 year warranty? Any way stop whining and blame yourselffor not seeing that a $2000 bose system probably costs only $300 to make,

Home delivery.

Weakness:

The sickly sweet smell of the cheap cabinets that seems to permeate everything.

yep, got my cash back.

it was like a factory setting - mass refund of cash .....

2 other guys (a guy in a ute and the other in an audi) and a lady with her son rocked up as well at the same time to return the stuff. the lady had bought 4 speakers and 2 'hiteker' dvd players (@ $2400)!

they actually have a decent office - looks better during the day. no vans about - only cars from the other tenants of the complex. this guy (i think was molner) was fairly pleasant - no questions no arguments. no beefy guys around either - they must have been out on their rounds.

i wonder why they do this? they have a fairly decent operation and products and could flogg it in the normal way and make reasonable money.

i didn't bother to listen to the speakers after reading the comments on this site so i'll give it 2 stars to be fair.
the dvd player was ok - about 3 stars for the price.

thanks again all for the information

cheers

Strength:

They look good.

Weakness:

They sound awful. Hmmm, look good sound awful? A bit like the N'SYNC really.

Bottom-line, I was chumped. Chump by name, chump by nature on this occassion.

Same story. I was in a shopping mall car park in NJ when 3 mothertruckers approach me in a white van with the overstock story. I talked them down to $300 from $800 and then got cold-feet when they actually agreed to accept my offer. I was hesitant because I thought that perhaps the speakers were damaged in some way. To ease my fears, they agreed to give me paperwork (a receipt) with the company name 'Jam Enterprises' and stated that the overstock error would not affect the warranty status, so off I went to the ATM.

I hooked them up to my Amp at home and a boomy gutless bass came out together with a muddled mid-range and lispy treble - 10x worse than a pair of radiocack (sorry radioshack) speakers I made the mistake of buying 9 years ago. I felt like crying....

My saviour was the ticket. I called Jam Enterprises (Huntingdon Valley, PA) who honored the 3 day return procedure and gave me my money back. John the manager was an OK about it, and told me that I shouldn't have expected more from $300 speakers.

I've never been Chumped like this before. Let this be a lesson to us all.

IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Strength:

Nice van.

Weakness:

my brain. the sound. A cardboard box and phone speaker makes a nicer reproduction of sound.

All i'm going to say is buy some PSB Alphas if you want a good $200/pair speakers. They always get good reviews, and sound above their category.

Really, who sells speakers out the back of a van? How could it not be a scam.

Oh, I hooked them up to a Rotel power block and they sound like crap. So, no matter how much power you put in, they sound tinny and boomy.

Strength:

Acceptable Sound if you can get them for 200 bucks

Weakness:

The sales pitch........They should all be arrested

The scam was set. $800 dollars for the pair. I settled for $300.

I must confess that speakers sound okay. The base is strong, and they are aesthetically pleasing. After reading your reviews, I'm kind of pissed off. I see some of you guys only paid 200.
I figure 200 for some good cheap speakers for the casual user and a 100 for being a sucker. If you are a major audio fanatic, pass these speakers. If you are a casual listener or audio beginner, you will not be upset.

I think what really gets everybody upset, is the fact that you thought you were buying $1200 speaker and you find out that they are worth a couple of hundred dollars.

Let's say you knew they were worth about 300, and you bought them for 100. You would feel satisfied. Our expectations were set really ($1200).

If you bought them for 200 to 300 hundred dollars, don't be crushed. The speakers can do for now and later you can buy a real 1200 dollar set.

LIVE AND LEARN: You can only get a average to bad deal if you are dealing in the players court.

Unbelievable. Though the M.O. spans continents, the speakers hardly deserve the coverage. Same green van. This time, he's a bonded courier who was to deliver 8 speakers and was shipped 8 pairs .. willing to unload them for a bargain. Sadly, the $200 I shelled out for my pair was hardly worth the resulting sound. Tinny highs, booming lows, very little midrange depth. The cool looking adjustment knobs under the grill did little to help the cheap sound. And who ever heard of black oak? Cheap particle board with no wadding. Beware of green vans bearing gifts..

Lack of Bass, lack of POWER

I too was aproached by one man, but in a gray Dynalab truck who seemed under the influence of drugs. Very anxiously, the seller, John, singled out my vehicle since it was very expensive thinking "this is a lick" offered us to see his products.

My fiancee was weiry of this and ask me if this is what I really wanted to do. Since I am seeking four speakers for my basement system, I agreed to see them and the man followed me to my house in an attempt to hook them up to my existing stereo for demonstration.

The speakers were weak, and could not compete with my ten year old stereo and speakers. He told me once I buy some 12 gauge speaker wire to hook up to them, they would blow me away. He also said I could get my money back if I threw in an extra $20 so he could buy beer. After the rewiring, I have not been blown away and I am disappointed. I am in the process of getting my money back. Wish me luck
