Strength:

Nicely balanced, good all-round speakers.

Weakness:

Nothing considering I was given them as payment for a debt!

I''m not sure if all of you are talking about the same speakers!? I think you guys were flogged a cheap imitation or you''re not hooking them up to a decent system or something! I was given them by a friend and i was very surprised at the quality. And as far as the bass goes... it was shaking my next-door neighbours pictures ''off the wall''! Ok... they are not the BEST speakers I have ever heard, but they are damn good! Serves you lot right for buying from a ''white van man'', next time buy GENUINE Dynalab.

Strength:

Absolutely nothing. Cheap imitation of Yamaha speakers.

Weakness:

No Bass reproduction. Terrible treble.

These are the worst speakers I''ve ever listened to. They carry no bass reproduction, the midrange is ok, and the high treble is aweful. I feel sorry for anyone who considers buying a pair of these hunks of crap.

I have avoided this scam in the past.

But that's not the point.

This is one of the FUNNIEST pages on the 'net.

I haven't laughed so much in ages.

HUGE thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences about these ridiculous speakers.

1 star overall to help balance things out.

Strength:

Shiny green van they were transported in.(VW or Merc.)

Weakness:

My stupidity (I'm seeking therapy)

The same old shyte... over-stocked by 2 units of 2 different speakers, pushy, yet friendly "salespeople". I first refused, the continual badgering made me wary but the brain just didn't click. I guess these blokes must have completed a course in picking out the most gullible fools from the crowd... never again will I buy anything from the back of a van.... only at the local pub.
p.s. thanks for the info Gimp.

Strength:

I think they sound alright, but I wouldn't really know

Weakness:

I've been ripped off by a bunch of pro-con artists.

The smile sank from my smug face.....
I'm shown this site by a colleague and I start to feel very very angry. Myself and it seems countless other people keen to land a bargain have been duped by these cretins, not just here in London but, it seems all over the World.
I paid £300 cash(!) to Dynalab. They had all the trimmings, the van, nametags, documentation, T-Shirts all emblazoned with the company logo, all part of this huge multi-national scam. Even the website (www.dynalabusa.com) is a part of the scam.
It makes me sick to think I've been had by these people, I hope they sleep well at night. I'm quite lucky, for me the money isn't the issue here it's the principle, however I'm sure there are people out there who have paid more than me and can afford to be ripped off less.
The speakers sound OK. The bass isn't bad but I concede that my knowledge of such matters is limited. I don't consider it £300 wasted because I have two speakers at home that through out the sound, just bitter that these professional pride muggers are allowed to continue their practise all over the world unabated.
I hope they rot in hell.
If you are reading this as someone who has had a narrow escape from Dynalab, congratulations, if you've recently been suckered, comiserations. I used to consider myself quite clued up on the pathetic efforts of London's pondlife to relieve me of my cash but I got suckered too.
Still, least they gave me a lift home in their van. That's three quid saved. Only another £297 to make up.

Wow, I can't believe it. I got approached by the apparently famous "white van" at a gas station in the Milwaukee area yesterday. $1200 speakers, they said "extra from an installation they just did". Started talking real fast when I started asking questions - they said the speakers were set up so that even if you put them into the low-level outputs of a TV, you "still got the full 200 watts". I said, "oh, so they're amplified then?" "No,...blah blah blah". I stopped listening. Told them I didn't have any cash, since I had just paid off a bunch of Christmas bills. I checked their web site, and then checked this site today, and have never been so glad to be strapped for cash.

Price, Sound and Warranty

Weakness:

The way that they are sold

I have been following this thread for awhile now and it just dawned on me why there are so many whiners posting here. I purchase a set of these speakers 5 months ago. Paid a fair price for them $400 and have enjoyed them ever since. I don't consider myself an audiophile but I do have a broad experience in music and understand that depending on what type of music that is being played ALL speakers will display some weaknesses. For those of you who come here whining about the product I have but one question? Why didn't you think about what your needs were before you purchased them? I think that the ones here that are protesting so much thought they were getting something for nothing??? If that is the case then maybe it is like the saying about the first one to smell a fart is the one that let it. For all of the others you should take the speaker out of the box... if you actually purchased them (some of the reviewers here start out saying that they never have purchased them but then go on to say how bad the product is???) I think the bottom line is that if you pay a decent price for them and they suit your needs. The product is as good as any other out there. If you thought you were getting something for nothing then you are an idiot and some of you here have proven that to be correct by reviewing products that you have neither seen nor heard. The product is warrantied for five years, you recieve a reciept that entitles you to the same rights as if you purchased them in a store and personally I like the way mine sound. Guess I am just more realistic than some of the whiners here.

Strength:

Nice speaker cabinet.

Weakness:

Everything else.

I was suckered like everyone else. I couldn't pass up a good deal. I called the company and it all seemed legit. To my suprise, I found this site and it turns out that it is not. What to do in a situation like this. I could throw them out along with $200, or make the best of a situation.
After reading almost all reviews, I decided to find out for myself just what these speakers were made of, so I proceeded to disassemble them. The two way crossover is very insufficient and not capable of handling what the speaker says. No insulation was placed on the inside to help with bass reproduction. The speakers have weak magnets and no specifications on them. The cones appear to be a polymer product, but when flipped over they are not. All in all, I paid for a speaker box and a nice speaker plug.
After finding all this out, and getting very upset, I decided not to go down without a fight. I went to a local electronics store and picked two "PYLE" three way crossovers that have a max. input of 150 watts, much needed for my receiver.
I hooked up the crossover and then placed it into the box and assembled the speakers in their proper places. Now I have a tweeter, an 8" mid-range and an 8" woofer. To my suprise this worked. My speakers sound much better and I have decided to add side firing 12" woofer to make up for the lack of bass, not that they had much in the first place.
If ever offered these speakers again will I purchase them? For $100 and then back to reconstructing. They look nice and after a little bit of time, sound excellent.

Strength:

The three lowlifes that gave me the hard sell...

Weakness:

...it worked.

What can I say, i got suckered in as well. I let my guard down for one second thinking something good was happening to me, 99 times out of 100 I would have questioned their motives. In the end they took £200 off me, as well as my car stereo (which wasn't working in any case) and my mono video recorder. I MUST HAVE HAD "MUG" WRITTEN ON MY FACE.
I also didn't get a receipt from the guy!
My anger now is at record levels and I will take time out of my day tomorrow to consult the citizens advice bureau and the trading standards office to report their despicable tactics. Dynalabs UK be warned if your reading this I am on one hell of a mission, and this turkey doesn't rest.
In terms of audio quality I am no expert, but purely on the fact that i got suckered in I am not going to give you more that 1 star... if only there was a lower option.
I hope this makes people think before parting with their hard earned cash.
PS: If anyone has their address for the UK Wimbledon outlet, post it here or email us. Thanks.
