Strength:
Sound quality, cherry finish, compact
Weakness:
None yet I don't classify myself as an audiophile and can't quote stats with db ratings and hiss and whatnot. What I can say is that all my music sounds WAY better than before. Music has depth/dimension to it and the speakers play the music without any effort. I still have my Bose 301s for rear speakers but have learned over the pst year that Bose are crap speakers (foam/paper construction). Similar Products Used: Polk, Klipsh, Bose, others |

Strength:
Tweeter
Weakness:
They are not free Outstanding. This speaker has one of the best tweeters I have ever heard. Cymbols, trumpets, and strings sound incredible. Chose these over the VR-M50 because male vocals sound slightly more natural (due to the slightly larger woofer). Will purchase the Boston PV600 10 inch sub to drive the lows. If you go to BA's website, click on the PDF spec sheet for the VR-M50 and 60s to see how accurate the AMD tweeter is. Sale price was $840. Similar Products Used: NHT 1.5 and 2.5i, Monitor |

Strength:
Strong imaging, very clear sound, look great
Weakness:
none These speakers sound very, very good. I went to the store to buy the bostons vr-970 for my home theater then I heard an a/b comparison with these speakers and I liked them so much I ended taking 2 pairs also for my stereo setup (of course for the comparison the VR-M60 with a separate subwoofer). I'm extremely happy with the sound in both setups. At the beggining they were maybe a bit bright Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Extremely clean and detailed sound. Exceptional imaging.
Weakness:
Lack of bass though the bass that is there is very tight and punchy. This speaker surprised me when I first heard it. I never expected that a bookshelf speaker could sound so good. The sound is very clean, crisp, and detailed. Some may think it is a tad bright. I personally like it very much. Imaging is very strong. The phantom center image is exceptional when you listen to a moderate to well-recorded vocal. Close your eyes and you'll swear that the singer is right there. Bass is very tight but there isn't enough of it. Then again, this speaker was not designed to be used stand alone. When used in conjunction with an extremely quick sub like the Boston PV800, the sound quality is incredible. Give this speaker a try if you like the sound crisp and clean. If you like a mellower, laid-back sound you may need to look elsewhere. |

Very rich and clear. You can hear everything. The only drawback is that it doesn't hit below 40hz but what do you expect from just one 6.5 inch driver and a tweeter. |

I think absolutely one of the best sounding speakers at any price thanks to technology similar to Boston’s VR lineup. I especially like the sound of the tweeter, which sounds crisp, but not harsh like some other speakers. There seems an acoustically seamless transition between upper midrange and highs, which vocals really shine through. I knew I had to have these speakers after working for a retailer that carried these. Boston is known more in the car audio world than home believe-it-or-not. What initially impressed me about these M60’s was the amount of refinement these speakers like cast aluminum woofer basket, AMD tweeter and notice how close the tweeter is to the midrange/woofer. Bottom line is these speakers don’t need any hype because they offer music at it’s fullest. Buy a pair and you’ll know what I mean. |

low bass Have now had these speakers for about 7 months. Took about a month to get them broken in. I have been very pleased with the clarity and sonic quality of the AMD tweeter. Some might think it bright, but compared to other speakers I have listened to sounds much more articulate and detailed. I have the PV1000 subwoofer and the combination is fantasic. The system handles music and movies with a soundstage that is open and enveloping. Brings you right into the action on movies. My purchase decision was between these and the B&W CDM1 SE and to my ear these speakers had better details and balance in the upper registers. Appearance-wise, the cherry veneer is real and the finish work is very good. Have not regretted the purchase one minute! Similar Products Used: Boston, Polk, Infinity, B&W |

none that i can tell I can hear every little sound crisp and clear...music at it's best...I went to good guys and listen to everything..and for the money the BA 60's couldn't be beat, they made me a deal for 4 of them so how could I resist? Strength:
Incredible bass for the size of the speakers. Extremely well built. Very attractive (adds to the decor of your room) Sturdy.
Weakness:
Yet to find one. These speakers are fantastic. They create a huge soundstage for such a small speaker, especially in concert with the VR-MC center speaker. The craftsmanship is superb. You will like looking at these speakers as much as you do listening to them....well, almost! Combined with the rest of the Lynfield VR-Monitor series, this makes a beautiful sounding theater for both movies and music. Great bass range as well, but even better when put with a good sub. Do yourself a favor and give them a listen before buying. Similar Products Used: Tested Klipsch Reference Series |

Strength:
Accurate and clean sound, compact, great overall performance
Weakness:
A bit light on the bass, but hey, it's a bookshelf! These speakers are a real pleasure to listen to. They glide easily between the mids and highs with superb clarity and resolution. On the low end, the bass remains responsive and consice 'till it drops off at 40ish Hz. Even though these speakers don't deliver the real deep bass, they still can rattle the all the windows in my living room. If you are considering the VRM50's, spend the extra $200 and buy the VRM60's. It's money very well spent. |
