Same deal, two girls and a guy pull up in a New Ford Explorer (which gives it some type of credibility). The whole speech. Extra speakers, someone signed for them but never took delivery so there stuck with the merchandise. For $550 i got 600 sl Tower Speakers, 10" subwoofer, and the 5 speaker home theater set.
They left the invoice of the store they got the merchandise from. I called the store and someone answers and it sounds legit. The store is in NJ. Will let you know when i try out all the speakers.

Crappy speakers. WHITE VAN SCAM!

I feel like such an idiot. I know I am smarter that this and in the past I have bought some good things in parking lots, but this time I got screwed. I wanted some speakers and they looked real nice and even matched my Entertainment Center. I know I should know better but I lost my mind for 15 minutes and it cost me $300.

Well all I have to say is if I ever see them again My Glock and I want to have a conversation with them, and they better have my money or its pop, pop like scum like them deserve.

hard to explain what kind they are and where ya got em

Listen here kids. I know a lot of you are probably pissed that you got sold the way you did,I should know I am an ex speaker man myself.I,ve seen close to a thousand sales made in the year that i worked for them,
but really a lot of what your saying is bullsh#t not, about the speakers, thats a matter of opinion, but what you all say about how you handled it,you all wanna sound like heroes "Ooh i got them arrested,Ooh i beat them up" yeah right!!
C"mon now speakermen are typically ages 18 to 30 years old, very motivated and hardcore salespeople. We traveled in pairs we carry permits so if the cops dont care what are you crying about??
I worked the streets for a year and saw more than what I might have liked to see these guys might have a infamous profession but almost EVERYBODY has done this sh*t!!
We would hire and fire 20 guys a week!! No bullsh$t!!
20 guys trying to find someone with the balls to do this.
Chances are someone you know sold speakers,I guarantee it
sure these arent the best speakers, sure the approach is shady but when we were selling 90 to 120 pairs a week and getting 1 or 2 returns, doesnt that say something? those guys work longer days than you,put in more effort than you, put up with more bullsh*t than your job,and certainly get paid more than you unless you have a degree or something.
Give the speaker guys some slack, and hey if you dont wanna talk to em no thanks always made me keep drivin they'll ask someone else they always do.
And from now on keep all your pipe dream war stories in your own head and just talk about the speakers will ya!!!

sell on speakermen....sell em all!!!

It's the "White Van" scenario to a "T". A guy and 2 girls rolled along as I walked and did the whole routine: extra speakers accidentally loaded in by the idiot loading guys, could be nice and return them--but the audio engineers would just take them anyway--or make a couple of bucks. I asked all the right questions and they had all the right answers. They had P.O.s and delivery information and laminated name-tag badges clipped onto their clothes. They just wanted to make $100 each and offered to bring the speakers up to my apartment and have me test them out--which I did--and they sounded fine. As shady as it all seemed, I should have taken a few minutes and looked on the Net. I would have saved myself 300 bucks. They're not horrible--they work fine--but they're, obviously, not worth $300. Considering the van people have to make some cash, and the guys they get them from need to also--assuming it's only a 2 part chain--I guess they're worth about $100 tops.

See above...

Well, I'll tell my story, as if it needs told. The wife calls me up from a phone booth in downtown Chitown (1 hr. ago). I hear in the background someone saying something about speakers, real cheap. She asks me OVER THE PHONE what I think. Since I'm always in the market for any audio gear that is practically being given away, I play Mr. Smoother, and tell her to offer 200, ya know cuz we're broke & yadayada...I'll bet she never EVER asks me a question like that again OVER THE PHONE! "We" dropped 2 bills on 'em. Judging from the reviews, my hopes aren't too awful high right about now. The real hussle came when the "partner" plays it like it's just killin' him to sell them for 200!! Man, that was smoother than John Travolta!!
I get my chance to try 'em out in about an hour and a half. Maybe, I'll be one of the lucky ones....hey, that's what I thought to get me into this mess!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE IDIOTS IN THE BACK OF VANS, I haven't
even listened to my speakers yet and I know I was scammed. Hopefully our reviews will save someone from making the same mistake. I am basically mad at myself for convincing myself that these speakers were legit, oh well I learned a lifes lesson for a couple hundred bucks, better that than a couple grand, couple million, etc.

WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM ANYONE IN A VAN OR SUV

I don't even know where to start.

These speakers are a scam!! My situation is similar to the above horror stories. I just wish I had read these reviews first and I would have never bought the damn speakers.

The only difference is my story is that the speakers I bought where out of pick-up truck in a supermarket parking lot. The idiot did show me his ID so I do know his name (Matt Gotthardt). I asked him where he got these speakers and he gave me the following address:
Charlotte Soundivision
338 South Sharon Amity Rd #150
Charlotte, NC 28211
(678) 296-4867

The warranty card he gave me (yeah these speakers actually came with a warranty card) has the following address:
Acoustic Image Warranty Divison
PMB#598
7095 Hollywood Blvd
Hollywood,CA 90028-8903

The little research that I did revealed that these crappy speakers are sold practically free to warehouses that just store them there until someone buys a bunch of speakers and other crap from these warehouses in bulk. Then, in turn these buyers sell the crap for outrangous prices. The whole operation looks shady at best. The speakers are probably only worth about 20 bucks for both. I hope this helps someone out. We've got to stop these scams!!!

Well I wish I found this web site 30 minutes ago. I just droped down $300 for "$1200" list price speaker. HAHA
These guys said they were from New York, maybe this scam is spreading around America. I just really hope the speakers sound good when I get them home. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have got them. I'd get something from a legit company. I guess this is one of those "Learn a lesson in life" senarios. Never again. Don't trust people.

Well, I didn't buy them, a friend of mine called me and said he purchased speakers from a couple of guys. He wanted to turn his deal into a profit by selling them on line. Well of course he could not find the company or where is was built. I didn't know people still bought stuff out of a back of a truck

i was scammed!!!

yo whats up,

i never knew about this whole '2 con artists in a white van selling stuff' talk until i just entered this site about 20 minutes ago, i wish i was warned before yesterday. like i know there are con artist out there but now its all to real. yesterday afternoon (november 22nd, 2000) i was working on the recycling truck picking up paper and enjoying the sunshine with knock off time in sight when these two boguns come flying past in a white van yelling jibberish out to my driver (pat) about something. so the van pulls over and pat pulls over and he hops out of the truck and heads towards the van, i walk over to the van also to see what is going on and i realize that they're selling speakers branded "acoustic image." there were 2 dudes in their early-mid 20's. i instantly thought it was a scam but the main dude who was doing all the talking had some wack accent that was pretty convincing. the other guy was talking a tiny bit but was mainly leaving it all up to the king of talk. he was way excited, blabbing on about how his boss wants them sold by dayz end and if they sell them they get like $100 in their pockets. they were $850 a set reduced from a 'crazy' $1450. this dude was screaming 'bargain' and 'mega deal' amongst other things, showing real interest in our sterios asking us about our setups. they only had 2 sets left and were saying that they had just gone bizzerk selling them to everyone. the low key guy pulled one of the box and they looked pretty spiffy. both men had shorts on and these blue polo shirts with their company name printed on (east coast sound) which made them look fair dinkum. i suddendly become interested because i was actually looking at getting some home speakers soon to beef up my pioneer system. by this time i thought they were dope speakers and i was sucked in. so i started asking questions, like "is the bass good" and stuff like that. pat was also interested in the speakers because he loves his music too. i don't know if i sort of talked pat into it or not but before we knew it we had cut the deal and bought a set each. they followed us down to the local ATM and we withdrew $850 each. we handed over our hard earned bucks in return for the speakers and a lame reciept. i've compared specifications with top of the range sony speakers and it's all pretty much the same. whether the specifications are true or not is a differnt story. i know jack about home speakers but to me they work fine, sound excellent ant really pump out the music. as soon as i entered this site and realized other people have been getting rolled just like me i was totally unhappy and still am, i feel like i should have known better and told them to cram their speakers where they fit best. however, i'm going to look into it a bit furthur by checking this site out a bit more and i will also visit the bonza hi-fi store in the city to see whats up. everyones been telling me i've been ripped but i'm unsure at this stage. if they turn out to be totally wack i might just try to sell them for like $600 or something. i'm going to warn all my friends about this type of stuff because it's all bad. if u see 2 yuppies in a van selling stuff tell them to back off. if i see these guys again i'm going to get revenge big time, i especially want to punch out the dude with the accent. (i forget his name, but it was probably fake anyway) at least i have learn't a valuable lesson which is not to take part in this type of thing again losing $850 in this way is bad but it ain't gonna kill me. look out!!!
