people who buy these speakers and cry about it.

The people who buy thses speakers,You are the same people who buy a fake Rolex watch from a guy in a long coat. I mean did you really think these guys were honest? I have met teenagers that know this is a scam, but to read about grown men geting ripped off is sad. If the speaker is worth 1000 bucks, why would they sell them to you for 400? Use you head! I for the life of me can not understand why anyone would buy a set of speakers from the back of a van and then cry about it latter. hey you got ripped off, learn from it. If you are that naive than you deserve to get taken. I was just looking around at speakers and this site came up and I am shocked that so many people are falling for the scam. Do yourself a favor and walk away the next time......

hard to get people to buy, out of my white van.

Hey these are the greatest speakers ever. I found them in an abandoned warehouse on the east side of cleveland. I loaded up my white van and went out to see if anyone was needing a great deal. If you want a great pair of speakers for a "steal" then look for the man in the white van.
Just kidding thanks for the feedback you kept me from buying these speakers, and thanks for the laughs everyone who thaught they were getting a "steal", ouch.

cabinate isnt solid enough

i cant really complain to much, the sound is good, not as good as my jamos, the jamos are at the rear for now and the phase IV are the mains for now. the speakers i bought dont sound like the ones being sold in the usa.

Just call me an idiot in New York. I was walking from my building and same old story. Some guys screamed out "you want to buy surround sound speaker for cheap"? They said they were shipped 3 extra speaker sets, and wanted the extra money to have fun. In the back of my mind I knew I was taken as soon as I got home. I bought the Acoustic Image Tsunami Series Speakers and Acoustic Image Sub-Woofer. I went home, checked the internet to see if there were any reviews and what the actual price would be, and of course came across this site. Knew right away I was taken. The only good news = looks like some people have set them up and they might sound good. I don't even know if its worth the effort at this point. Someone should put this on 48hours or 60 minutes.

I just got home from purchasing the subwoofer for my husband as an early birthday gift, and wanted to find some information on the great deal I got. Now, I feel like an idiot. We currently have an infinity sub, but I thought this one sounded like a better one. The nice thing about this whole ordeal is that I did not pay what they were asking. I am going to try this out soon and hope for the best...I feel like such an idiot. They are TERRIFIC salesmen!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE WHITE VAN!!! :(

We currently have an infinity sub, but I thought this one sounded like a better one. The nice thing about this whole ordeal is that I did not pay what they were asking. Dad says a subwoofer would make them sound even better

My husband and I don't know much about audio, but right after we bought them, we drove them over to Dad to inspect. We hooked them up one at a time to compare with Dad's Kwiks(?) and these actually sound much clearer; very crisp sound. We are really happy with our purchase!

I too was caught in this scam. The guy was driving a satin colored 4Runner. He had several boxes of speakers in the back. He first pulled out some high end towers claiming he got them for free. Same story as you have read below. I tried to reason with him that if he got them free, then anything he gets for them is extra. So I offered $50. He was insulted and went on to explain how much they list for. He had the DHL shipping envelope, the whole 9. I kinda got swayed by the other high end speakers he had in the truck. I should have followed my intuition. He was too fidgety. I should have never let him into my car. I took him to the ATM too. He tried to beat me for more. I sure learned a lesson. i hope that they work fairly well.

Scaaaaaammmmmed!

I'm posting this review before even listening to the speakers. Got scammed like everyone else. Paid $200 for the $1200 speakers. Feel like a fool. Hope they are at least of average quality.

Be careful in northern NJ! This was not the white van but rather a Blue Jeep with Ill. plates.

Walking home from class one day, I was stopped by a white van. Two guys asked if I wanted speakers, giving me the same story in most of the other reviews here. It sounded like a good deal to me. They even had a professional looking "spec" sheet listing them at almost $1200. Looking back, I was very dumb, as I actually had them bring me home (yes I got into a strange van with two strange guys). In addition to the 6.5's, they had subwoofers they said they were going to keep. I was smelling some sort of scam, so I had them bring the 6.5 towers inside my apartment before we made a deal. They sounded good to me. We left the pair in my apartment, and again being somewhat stupid, I got back in the van and they took me to my ATM. They hastily agreed on a $200 price; that was all I had. I gave them the cash and they actually drove me home too! They even wrote up some sort of warranty card very similar to ones given in stores, which I never sent in. In the end, they seemed sincere (yeah right), but at least I wasn't kidnapped. The speakers have held up pretty well considering the amount of volume I pump through them. The tweeters seem to be starting to go bad, but still well worth the $200 I paid for the pair. I added a crossover to cut the amount of bass they were putting out(not that it was much at all) to lessen the toll on the speakers because they are part of an 11 speaker system I have which has enough bass already. They have good, solid cabinets. So, for extra rich highs and the crisp reflecting tweeter on the back side, these are excellent. As an addition to an existing system, I approve, or even just adding a subwoofer is a must. I however DO NOT ever recommend getting into any strange white vans, EVER.
