These Guys Were Good...Real good

Weakness:

They were in a hurry and give you no time to think

I got the famous white van scam and was sold the f/x surround sound home theatre system. Immediately searched the net for reviews. Guess what I found?..this site. Well my trusty golf club and I decided to take a trip to the surrounding scam area to see if I could bump into them. I did (all in a two hour period of time). I saw them in a parking lot across from where I bought the equipment from so I parked my car a few spots down from where they were parked. They were in the middle of scamming someone else when I walked up to one of the guys and grabbed his shirt by his chest and damanded that he give me my money back or there was going to be some problems. After about five minutes of arguing his other client had left. He told me to go over to my car to get the system and he would give me my money back. Well as I was walking back to my car he jumped in his van and took off ( he wasn't going very far). So I jumped in mine and he had me doing 120 mph down route forty chasing his dumb ass. I caught up to him and he gave me my money back and I gave him his system back. Oops I still have the remote to the system, not purposely but I think it's only right don't you? Once again if it's too good to be true it sure as hell is

I cannot believe I fell for this...at least I am not the only one. This is the white van story to a freakin' T!! The only difference was that I think they sound OK. Maybe I am also as deaf as it gets when it comes to speakers. The sales guy was definitely good. Word of warning--they are worth a bill, no more. God I got duped!!

Strength:

that there was actually something in the box

Weakness:

Not getting what you paid for

THE ONLY comfort I have is that i am NOT the only fool in America! Same thing. White Van. North Carolina license plate. 2 guys. Both named Mark. Warehouse had loaded an extra box of speakers and woofer. Needed to sell it before heading to final drop off. Wanted 500. Same thing "Let's just walk right over to the ATM machine and se how much"
I have the number the the store as after I amde a call the guy "Mark A" asked if he could use my cell phone. When a friend found this web site today and I realized I had been scammed. SO I CALLED, casually asked if Mark A had returned from his sells. Mark got on the phone. Seemed alittle shaken. At least I was able to tell him I knew what he had done. If there is satisfaction in calling (as long as this line remains up) 201 888-6535. Hopefully i have leared my lesson.

Strength:

Decent bass, not bad overall sound. I didn't pay $1500 for Bose series 15.

Weakness:

don't know yet, too early to tell. They are still in 1 piece and sound good so far.

The old white van trick, almost fell for it 12 years ago in high school but backed off. Shopping for a system and knowing that a yamaha set at best buy will run me $600 or more I decided to take my chances after looking at the sub. I brought it home 'Acoustic Image Tsunami Series' with 5 sats. I was nervous as hell on the way home thinking that the sub had a 25lb sand bag in it but to my surprise they actually sounded great. I hooked them up to my receiver and can't complain so far. Of course it was only 2 hours ago and by tomorrow morning they could be all dust when I wake up, but they appear to be decent. I know one thing, if they sound like they do now 10 years from now or even 5, my money will have been well spent. I can't stomach spending $1500 on a bose system. Only time will tell if I've been had and i'll let everyone know if I have.

Scam the Scammer

Weakness:

Scammer not as good as me

Aware of the white van scam before two guys pulled up at a stop light and said "Dude I have these great speakers you have to check out ".I declined of course.I stoped at a shell to get gas and smokes and when I came out of the store the white van guys where in the parking lot trying to sell to someone else. They Must have failed at thier attempt. They approched me at the pump and started the same conversation we had at the stop light, apperently they not remembering the incounter, I presumed them not to be that brite. He He .Growing up in the city of chicago I think i was a better scammer. So just to see the scam and how it works I decided to take a listen to the guys.Pretty much the same thing as what everyone else has been saying. But I took note of the DHL envelope ,it was open and the packing slip was open with hand written prices (not printed, not very brite)DHL?So to I took the guy who was standing out of the van in the shell station to get cash from the cash station.went back to the van to look at all of speakers just to confuse them .while one guy was repacking one box iI had the other guy show me a subwoffer while the other was on the other side of the van reloading I had the other guy put the subwoofer in my back seat and told him I gave the money to his partner who went to the cash station with me.He bought it but in reality I said to his partner I wanted to see them first. And just to convince I was Interested I talked them to death. But anyhow.Once he put the speaker in my car it was mine with the assumtion that I gave the money to his buddy.I drove off wonder what will they say to each other ?So I recommend every one scam the scammers.Once I hooked the subwoofer up to my RX-v1 it did not sound that bad for the price.0$ So I recommend that every one pickup a set from these guys because they are not that smart.

good looks

i was in the 7-11 parking lot pumping gas, when 2 guys pulled me aside in a beige mini-van, they gave me the whole story about how they went to get speakers for their boss, and the people in the warehouse gave them 2 pairs of speakers when they were only supposed to get 2 speakers, they then gave me the story about some woman trying to give them $400 per set, but they couldnt sell them because she wanted to use an out of state check, they were pushing for money, i lied to them and told them i had only $120 on me, they settled to selling me one for $120, i got the whole story about how they were retailed at about $850, they even had a legit looking invoice and laminated information sheet telling all about the speakers, i havnt really listened to them yet but i am sure that, like everyone else her, i got scammed, if anyone knows what these are worth actually please let me know

Hello there!
I have two friends that bought four pairs of speakers from a white van... It was not cheap! but I think that it sounds pretty good and is quite heavy, the magnets is very large.

The brand is BSS (BRANDLE SPEAKER SYSTEMS) and can be found at: http://www.image.dk/~haganol

Does anyone of you outthere recognize this speaker?

/Johan
