i was in dover nj today near shoprite, when a kid hopped into my car and asked if i wanted speakers...he fed me the same lines, and got me hooked...i paid 300.00 for em, and then like 15 minutes later found out there was a scam going on in this area. Two white males and a white female. Kid selling said his name was Joe. Not much info about van or license plate. Let me know if anything happens.

I was driving down the road minding my own buisness and being bored. The next thing I know this guy is yelling at me to roll down , he was really smiling so I had to find out what was up. So he says " Want some speakers!" I said no thanks. He says " no tanks in here boss , speakers!" So he says " pull over I will let you look at them!" I was laughing so I pulled over. The guy from the passenger seat gets out and tells me the story about how they signed out for this stuff and nobody is gonna miss this pair of speakers. I wasn't looking to buy speakers but I couldnt pass up such a once in a life time deal. So I said how much? He goes how much you got! Shows me the info thats says they are worth 1200$ bucks. So I figured 500$ wasnt enough but the guy agreed I couldnt believe it what a bargain I got! These speakers have speakers i the back too! The tweeters are made out of titanium thats the stuff they make spaceships out of. Im just glad he made me laugh hard enough to pull over. Other wise I may have missed this great oppertunity!

Similarly enough... On the way to the movies, this young guy with a Phish T-Shirt on asked me and my buddy if we wanted to buy a some speakers. We (being the rude, impolite and other stereotypical New Yorkers) kept walking. Then, he jumps out of the front of the van and opens the back to expose all of these boxes of Acoustic Image products. Since I'm getting a home theater together, i thought we'd just listen to his scam for entertainment purposes ONLY. The deal was that they had this delivery route and all but four of "these" boxes had an address to go to. So him and his buddy thought they'd make some quick and harmless cash by selling those left over that were "already paid for". So I tell him straight away that i need no loudspeakers, so then he proceeds to show me the 5.1 dolby surround system "extreme F/X" with a 60W down-firing powered subwoofer and all the other center, front, and rear speakers. Now I'm thinking, "Ok, here's something I don't have but need and it's still in a box, unopened". He's already haggling with me for like 700 bucks showing me the specs and a whopping MSRP of like $2,800! I'm all acting like I'm the poor student that can hardly pay rent and trying not-so-eagerly to blow him off. But in the end he got $300 and a $9.77 tower records gift certificate after dropping me off a block from my place.
So, the system sofar is great. I tried plugging all equipment (TV, DVD, Stereo) into the subwoofer, but it sounds a lot better through the receiver. No wonder there's NOTHING on the web about this stuff! If anyone else bought this "extreme f/x" system... Email me your thoughts on it!

Just wanted to be added to the list of SUCKERS. Similar MO: white van, have to sell, showed "list price". One guy was named Brad, from Philly, early 20's. They asked for half price of $1169, I offered $300. At the ATM, Brad kept working me over for more, and I coughed up another $20 that was in my pockets.

On top of everything, I gave them directions to the local nudie bars. What a laugh.

I was impressed by the decent constructoin, the weight and the double six-way binding posts that allow for bi-wireing.

No bass, with a fatiguing high end.
Maybe they will be better broken in.

I'm a seasoned HT enthusiast. My kids wanted to get me something I would enjoy for father's day.
My oldest son "knew somebody". I'm sure it was one of the white van guys. So, hopefully the guy hooked my kid up with a good deal so they didn't have to spend too much.
I gladly accepted the speakers and replaced a pair of Mission 2-ways. They were a very thoughtful gift from sons who meant well. However, I wish they had just done a little research before they spent any of their money.
For where the speakers are, (B speakers in a remote room) they will be fine.
Hope you all have kids who want to make you happy.

Well I guess that they strick again! The ineteresting part is that the moron that went to the ATM with me lost track of his partner and I said here use my phone and call them. Now, I have one of their phone numbers. The number is 201-888-6535. I invite you all to call this number and let them know how you feel. A voice mail will pickup so leave a message. I hooked them up and they are not as bad as I thought after finding out that I was scammed. Does anyone know where you can get a legitimate review of these speakers

Yeah, you guessed it. I got raped by the same people you all did. That guy with "the deal of a lifetime" came to my apartment, and I fell for the same story about the speakers.
So now I am out a hill of beans, just like you guys. Eh, whatever dude. I guess you live and learn my friends, you live and learn.

I don't know what all the griping is about...my speakers sound great...as well if not better than the Bose AM5's I have. The van, the moral dilemma, the cash machine, the suspicious wife...all memories now. Those who are looking for answers and returns, there are several retail outlets in NY and IL...I actually called a store and spoke with someone (I think). Anyway, it appears I got one of the good pairs. Offer $100 and you can't go wrong.

They Got me. Two girls in a Green 10 yr old Jeep Cherokee. Told me they had an extra set of speakers that wasn't counted. Get this - I actually called the company while I was standing there to get a price quote. There is a fake recording for some Audio company, then a guy picks up. He gave me a quote for the speakers - $1200. She told me that the person I called was her boss (BS - It's her partner) So I thought I had an awesome deal for $220. Anyway, DC Metro PD would not even take my report. I showed a police officer this website and said they could do nothing about it. I Still have the phone # of the guy I called 240-882-2687. He hung up the phone on me when I called back and tried to get an address. It is a cell phone. If anyone knows a way to figure out what cell phone company it is, and then who pays the bill for that # we can get these people!!!!! email me if you have any ideas!!
