Strength:

great product for the price, the ability to life anyway i want to.

Weakness:

the people that think speakermen are "scam artists"
i cant figure out what to do after work each day, i've allready done it all.

I just wanted to clear some things up. Not all speakermen are doped up, drunk, irresponsible losers. Sure some guys let the money get to them, and use drugs and alcohol, but the rest of us have BIG bank accounts, investments, big houses, and nice cars. That's just to start with. how about the vacations around the world, the beautiful women, the credit lines to the sky. In regards to the post below, in ten years Ill be 34 and retired, living off my investments, and making money by owning a speaker warehouse in you're town!!!Thank you to all the sales I've had in the last 5, years(a minimum of 15 sets a week/every week)and I'm looking forward to selling you In the future.

Strength:

Sounds like from the other reviews, if you take the sub-woofer out it makes a good toilet.

Weakness:

a op-amp, a resistor and two capacitors

Looks like the old proverb -- what goes around, comes around -- has come to pass. You see our little friends pulled their free speaker scam on the wrong person. Seems that the son of an extremely-connected father (aifaM esenihC), was scammed by two small-time knuckleheads in San Fransisco, California... much like all of you were, coincidentally. Funny thing is -- cell phones are a wonderful invention. Anyway, the son just walks back from an ATM machine, and while shoving five $100 bills(imagine that) into his billfold, he is approached by two characters, about his age, offering him free quality speakers. What the two didn't know about this broken-English-speaking asian, is that he had a loaded, chrome-plated, .44 caliber, snub-nosed, Smith&Wesson tucked inside his black jacket. As the two played out their humurous little act for our hero, the son became more and more restless with all the blundered attempts at his money. Finally, he just asked, "How much money are you guys bringing in with this thing." Unfortunately for our two genius-criminals, they continued on as if they didn't understand what the son was implying. To make a long story short, my friend just wanted to find out who sent them(the main-idiot), but cheech and chong didn't budge. Too bad... Whenever you see a milk carton, look at the pictures, and if they look familiar, remember that even organized slanimirC hate swindlers, because they truly belong at the bottom of the criminal food chain. x) Sincerely, nahC eikcaJ & nemssenisuB gnoK gnoH retpahC uL ehT

Looks like a cheapo Made-In-China clone

This scam has reached South-East Asia. Amazing though because this is the home of many imitations. People here are more honest about real goods and imitation goods. The vendors here will tell you if this is a cheapo (we call it 'chapalang' here) 'Abidas' or a real 'Adidas', and show you 2 different prices for them.

So it is surprising that these white van guys are peddling their stuff here, as they are flooded with competition from the real 'JDL', 'Rogets', 'Nakachimi's from China.

I do believe those speakers you suckers got are not made in USA. The cost would be too high. They actually probably came from China or even here.

Mind you, anybody who has been to China will tell you they actually do make good imitated stuff.

Anyway, I advertised for a good used amp and speakers, and got a response from some guy who wanted to sell me these Acoustic Response 8212 liquid cooled speakers. I said, 'Liquid cooled?!?!?!'. He says they were given as collaterals by his ex-customer for owing him US$ 2000.

So he wants to cover his losses for US$ 750. The ex-customer told him those are high-end speakers from the US, and are about US$2900 new. He went to a Hi-Fi shop to check if that's true. The twit salesman there told him yes, they are high-end ... probably confusing with Acoustic Research!

Good thing that I did a search on the Net for this brand, and found out about this scam. So I told him, and it looks like he was the one who got conned!

Later the guy took some photos to show me the speakers, and they look really cheap. It is unfortunate that the poor bloke couldn't tell a dud from the real stuff!

I am still wondering how did those stuff end up here in Malaysia, since we already have many many 'honest' imitation stuff made both locally and from China that sell a quite reasonable prices for the sound they produce!

A word of advice, if you are really looking for a bargain, you should go to China. They really have a lot of no-name but decent stuff that are most probably direct rip-offs from the foreign big-names having factories there.

The cheapo US$30 30W amp that I bought there actually sounds alright.

Cheers!

I want to say one thing to you guys, those speakers are not piece of sh*t. When I moved to dorm, I wanted to get new audio system, then my friend said "Get a reciver man, I can give you a pair of speakers for free, but piece of sh*t though" I bought a Kenwood-AR304. and he gave me his speakers. Those are gray carpeted 3way system, and says "Acoustic USA" I hooked up them and listened. Oh well no bass, and unclear sounds... But I had known what I had to do, "Get an Equalizer" I went to pawn shop soon and found 80's AKAI-EAA7(eaulizer) for $15. Now all of my friends say "Damn good bass". Also my next door guy who loves "bass"(he has awesome system in his car) wants to get this scam speakers from me! Think about this way, why all of mini-system have an equalizer? I have a pair of JBL-LX44($1000) in my home, but I needed equalizer for them too, because that JBL had too much bass. "Brand speakers" and "Your Favorite sound" is not always equal. Try to get an Equalizer, if you couldn't effort brand new equalizer, go pawn shop and find cheap 80's one(around $15) Ok maybe Real con artist thinks "Hahaha those speakers are trash man" but why does he know abour sounds? Do you believe their audiophile? oh my speakers are real scam speakers, because 3month ago, me and my friend went to bestbuy, at parking space, "white van guys" asked us to sell their speakers. well those were exactly same speakers as mine. Anyways I'm kickin' ass this floor(dorm) with my scam speakers because "kick ass bass", I have a pair of KLH-900B in my room, but their "bass" are weaker than my scam speakers. If you have any question about scam speakers "how to get more better sounds from them" then send me email. Don't be stereotype.

Like most of all, hate those guys who like to cheat others. Like most of all, hate myself why can so stupid.
Anyway, compared to the speakers I got, like: Akai, Panasonic, and, even the Rogers 101, it's not so bad. Its still functional (I have already thrown away the AKAI and the Panasonic months ago). I don't know why !

These guys are back in Austin! They caught me on the way back to work. Apparently their boss ordered 4 speakers and ended up getting 4 pairs of speakers instead! They were looking for "a cool guy" to unload a pair to, and the other pair they'd sell in the classifieds. They need the money for college...one guy says his parents cut him off since his grades have been slipping (violin, please). The guys went by the names Jake Friedman and Derrick. The only reason I don't feel totally ripped off is because I told the guys I'd hold the "extra" pair of speakers while they met their boss. Now I've ended up with four speakers for $200. Not bad, until I checked this review site...

Anybody want a pair? I'll be scoping for these guys (I was too stupid to get a license plate number).
