sound You know, just like everyone else here, I was scammed... that sucks... but it taught me a lesson, and made me laugh at myself. As it turns out, if you're looking for some speakers to thrash, or just to watch "Top Gun" at 100 dB levels, these aren't really too bad... they pump out a lot of (poor quality) sound at loud levels. These days, I use them for end tables in my home theater... they make nice end tables, since that carpet soaks up all the moisture from a cold drink or beer, and they have a campy look that fits into the techy style of my theater... I can't imagine using them for actual audio reproduction though... Similar Products Used: none... |

My willpower Same old story guys, this time in south Orange County Cali. Got the line about the factory ordering too many, they were picking them up from the shipping company and had too many. Boss said that it was ok to sell them. I'm the dumb f*ck for buying it. Similar Products Used: Yamaha YST-M10 Powered Monitor Speaker |

If it's too good to be true then you'll be in a major pain:( I'm sorry to hear your stories! "two guys in a minivan, warehouse surplus and their boss..." I paid $240 for those damn speakers. They are still in the boxes. I really don't know what to do with them :( I thought that I was smart :( |

Everything I live on west 85th st. in N.Y.City. Today I decided to a stroll on my block. A pile of cars are stopped at a light and a guy in a white van asks if I am from the area . I reply I live here. He then asks if I would like to buy a pair of speakers. To myself I laugh I could not believe these idiots would try this scam in New York City. I replied when can I call the cops. The guy didnt bat an eye. He says in a some what cheery voice call whoever you like, these are great speakers-hilarious-what gall!! Needless to say when the light changed the van took off like a bat out of hell. Same M.O. as always 2 guys-a white van- the right rear bumper looks like some body put a sledge hammer to it- and jersey plates-JBV893. It is amazing the scope of this scam-nationwide. This would make a great 60 minutes expose. I suggest that one of the fine people that was unfortunately sucked into this hogwash should contact CBS. N/A Lol.. gotta admit the story line is definatly believeable. I paid as showed 100 a piece for mine, haven't tried them out, but by just looking at the wireing connectors I figured the second I bought them they don't have crosovers, they don't have amps. However at 100 a piece to have a box and screens put on it I would have paid that much anyways. So I consider it a lesson learned through monetary means. *shrugs* Similar Products Used: N/A |

I got scammed also. I was approached by two guys in a white Ford Expedition. The guy I spoke with was hispanic and the other guy in the car was anglo. I fell into the trap in buying a pair of Acoustic 9901 Professional speakers for $200 with a warranty and showed me the invoice on them with a code. He told me that he got an extra amount of speakers and didn't want his foreman to find out that he had received these extra speakers because the last time he turned over the the extra merchandise to his foreman he kept it for himself. He said he wanted to get rid of them before he heads to Dallas and wanted to know about any storages. He also told me the story that his sister can sell the speakers on e-bay for $1,600 and that I can do the same if I wanted tto. These guys approached me at the Diamond Shamrock on HWY 281 and Bitters. They guys must be caught and please let me know if anybody gets plates on their vehicles. |

Not so bad overall.
Weakness:
Need Time to be played in. Ned some power to be driven A friend of mine got "Ripped" of like this in NOrway some years ago... I think it was for four years ago. He have almost not used the speakers at all in this time. My friend payed 3000 Nkr nearly 350 US$ at that time. On the front of the speaker it stands "Acoustic Response 707 Series" The speakers look very cheap... I've borroved the speakers to test them, and after they was played in they don't sound that bad 12" Bass with enough punch and a very bright mid-range end high tone.
