REVENGE

It happened to me too, but I got them back. I had the exact same encounter two days ago. A guy caught me at the atm with this great deal. Of course like all of you I fell for it and I fell hard. They got $300 out of me for two speakers. But a stroke of luck fell on me. The very next day I visited this web site and of course I was disapointed. I finally started felling a little better by the end of the day. Then it happened I was at a Subzone getting something to eat right next to where I had bought the speakers the day before and I saw two guys in a grey minivan across the parking lot talking to two other guys and showing them something in the van. Of course I new what it was. At first I was just going to drive over there and tell the two guys that it was a scam but then I had an idea. I drove over and went up to the driver and asked him what he had going on over here. Luckily it was a different guy than the one who had sold them to me the day before. He said they had some speakers and asked if I would like to take a look at them. I said yeah sure. They gave me the same crap as the day before about the doubled shipment and their boss. I said those speakers look nice and that I would give them $200 for 2 of them. I new that he would take it after reading these reviews. We argued a little and finally he said OK do you have cash. I said my bank is right there. It was across the parking lot. He put the speakers in my car. One in the trunk and one in the back seat on the drivers side which was the door that I had opened for him. Then he says can I ride with you and I said sure. I new exactly what I was going to do. I started the car put down the parking break and leaned over like I was going to unlock his door but instead I punched the gas. I took off with two of their speakers. So I ended up with four speakers for $300. I still don't feel like I got the deal that was talked up to me but I feel a lot better having ripped off the cons. That night I called the local news station and told them about the scam that is in town and about this website. They souned pretty excited about the story but I don't know if they ran it or not.

Same story but in Chico CA, just posting this so if anyone has info on the two guys they can let me know. Were driving a red s-10 blazer. I think they live somewhere in chico because I seen them while walking one day, got 2 inches from busting out their back window but they ran the light and got away. If anyone knows anything about these guys let me know would like to get my hands around their neck.

Last time i heard they were in Santa Monica area in CA (my friend was offered in front of his apartment, luckily he did not buy from them).
I wish i get their license plate. But I will keep searching. I'll let you all know when i get it.

Strength:

Decent woofer

Weakness:

Mids and highs

I got ripped off, just like the rest of you, down to the "beer"! I paid $190 for the pair. The guy who sold them to me was about 6 foot tall, white(tanned), brown hair, no goatie, medium build, driving a white minivan. He claims to work for Empire Music. Whether that's true or not, who knows.

Anyway, I opened mine up. The woofer has a decent magnet, but not as good as Punch speakers or other big brands. The mids and highs are cheap like the ones that were in my Kenwood towers, before I customized them. Same cheesy 3-way (crossover?) circuitry.

I've had cheap speakers before, and I know if you use passive crossovers on the mids and highs, and a choke coil on the woofer(before they blow out) you can usually make them sound good/decent. All of that stuff is cheap at Radio Shack.

I'm thinking about emailing this info to all of my friends. Maybe if we all do that, we can put an end to these con artists!

I bought two speakers for $325 from two guys in a blue van, who used the names Mel and Vinny. Fortunately, I the check I wrote was no longer active, and therefore was never cashed. My speakers never worked and when I looked inside, found a bunch of wires loose.

Now let's begin, I am no way affiliated with these very bad sales idiots, maybe if they were honest about there products from the get go they would probally do a good business. I have recentlly aquired a pair of these speakers from someone who was crying the same sob story that I'm hearing hear.Having worked with just about all speakers know to man, I have to say you guys are half right in what your saying. These speakers are definatley not the best I've heard, but there not the worst either. I noticed someone mentioned Fisher speakers, still trying to figure out why you would even consider buying those. Anyway, lets get to the point, if your installing these in your home system, i.e. a little sony boom box, they are going to sound like poop, as would any speaker. the problem with these is that whoever is making them did not take into account the wattage verses hertz ratio. Basically what these means is that without an eq, and at least 100w per speaker your not going to get the correct sound. I'll say it again just to refresh your memory "these are not the best speakers i've heard", but with the right eq and a good amount of watts (at least 100w) per speaker they sound pretty ok. I currently have them hook into my studio rig, they sound pretty good, with a little modification to my eq's.

I do have to say however, to those of you who paid more than 100 bucks for the pair, oopps, but don't go completely postal yet. You can make these speakers work. I've modified crossovers and we can turn those highs down. If still have them and want to make them work get in touch with me on this site and I'll do my best to help you out.

In the future though don't buy somrthing you can't hear first. Use your heads, if it sounds to good to be true it probally is.....

Weakness:

They suck

Yes, I too just got scammed, the worst part was that I thought I had scammed them by getting the speakers for 300-400 less than they wanted. That should have tipped me off right away. Too bad, but I guess I can be thankful that at least they work.

Strength:

loud, carpeted for out door use,the 12'sub hits hard

Weakness:

a bit overpriced, i only paid $400 for two, the guy said they are worth $1,600/ they need a good amp to run them

i was at the atm when two young guys yelled at me to check out these speakers they "accidently" got from the store.
i thought they were stolen or something, but the guy gave me his drivers license, and his home phone number, so im not worried about that, anyway these guys wanted $600 for two,i told them $300, and he said give me $400 and ill load em up for you. i said ok, thinking i just got $1,600 monitors for $400, cool. i took them home and they sounded
like ass in my house, i had them hooked up to my sony es
dolby digital receiver, and my heart sank. harsh highs, good mids, but muddy bass.i was mad at these punks, so i called the guy who sold me these things, he said "does your receiver have an eq/crossover"? i said "no" he said "get an amp. thats 150wattsx2 plus use an eq." so i went to circut city and got a sony 2 channel stereo amp plus a sony eq.
can i say "wow" these things came to life!! with some adjustments on the eq. im extremly happy. ive used these for two parties so far, both outdoor, and i love these things.our parties play tecno/rave music, so we play the speakers loud. they handle the power and play loud and claer!! i read the other reviews, and everyone complains about how they were scamed, but the speakers work great.
i admit the guys were not "completly" honest, but who is?
