a very detail speaker for the price, and the bass is tremendous, especially from this tiny speaker.I'm currently using a pair of n24 for surrounds, and a pair of "century old" yamaha speakers for mains.when seeing movies, sometimes I feel the n24 out-perform the cheap yamaha!

trust me, it's really a good buy!

Strength:

Good Sound In Small Package/Nice Looking

Weakness:

Not Very Effecient/Lack of Insulation

This review is for the N24aw and not the N24. Although they have the same specs, they sound very different. Although it is a bass reflex speaker, the aw is tighter sealed for exterior use. The sound is more detailed, but not as full,as the N24. This is due to the enclosure and speaker driver treatment. I like the more detailed sound of the N24aw as they are being used as surrounds in my system. I did listen to the new Paradigm Stylus(in/outdoor)speakers. The 100 was nice but did not have nearly the spaciousness/bass as the N24aw has. The Stylus 150 is better but costs around $300./pair. The A-R was not in the same league as it was "hollow" in comparison. A side/side comparo between my RS min's vs. Stylus/N24aw was very clear in sound distinction. I opened up the N24aw and was surprised to see very little sound insulation. I added a small amount to the inside of each enclosure. This improved the sound a little
bit but well worth the 10 min in time. This speaker looks very nice and blends in well with off-white walls. The only real short coming is its efficiency. They must be "notched"
up a couple of db's to blend with the mains but this is not a problem with my 3300. For surround use these are great little speakers. They may be a little small for some mains in most systems. For $140./delivered(BestBuy best price $210./w tax), the price was right. Bought mine from Bestpriceaudiovideo.com and had them 3 days later. If you're looking for some solid, small surrounds check them out. Compare them with the N24's to hear the diff. They were rated very highly in this months Sound&Vision mag.

Strength:

Great for surrounds, good value, white, mounting brackets included

Weakness:

inefficient - 86db, lack of bass

These are real nice speakers, especially for surrounds. I got the N24AW, the all weather white ones. They have a nice tight clear sound that was missing from my cheap old surrounds. They come with a nice mounting bracket for wall mounting. The white color blends in well with my white walls, so they are not very obvious. If they were to be used as mains in a small home theater, a sub is a must (only a 4" woofer. These compiment my JBL HLS 610's very nicely.

Speakers:
JBL HLS 610 - mains (the greatest bookshelf on the planet!!)
JBL HLS - center
JBL N24AW - surrounds
JBL PSW10 - sub (still waiting for it to blow.....)

Strength:

Loud, crystal clear highs. Build.

Weakness:

Weak bass, wall mounts.

For the money these can't be beat, although you will definitely want to add a subwoofer. The wallmounts are cheap and one of them cracked after I plugged in the ball joint into the socket.

Strength:

Sound, installation methods

These outdoor speakers replaced a lame pair of RCA/RadioShack units. So, by comparison, they sound great. But, they DO sound good. I have them mounted above a deck, and they repoduce a decent amount of bass. All in all, you get what you pay for -- and these are worth the money. They come with mounting brackets, which means that they are about $30 less than many other speakers out there that do not include them.

These sound a lot better that the KLH's don't get me wrong these are EXCELLENT speakers just the way you all were talking on here thought they had boomin' bass but for $95 shipped I definitely can't go wrong. These are some excellent, I am using them as surround speaker and they are indescribable how good they are, definitely purchase them.

Great rear speakers, Also using as B speakers in office. Good clear solid sound, can't be beat for the size and price. Initially I had purchased all Yamaha stuff to place in the den and office I just finished in the basement. I loved the Yamaha reciever (HTR5460) and sub(YSTsw305)but the fronts and rears just lacked the clear punch of the JBL's. I had lots of time to figure out what was best while the basement was being completed so my wife and I made multiple trips to look and listen and agreed that the JBL front and rears (and center) sounded the best. So I returned the Yamaha front and rears and purchased the JBL N26 and N24 and am glad I did.

Strength:

Great for surrounds, not sure about as fronts, JBL quality, price

Weakness:

None for what they are for

Just bought these as rears in the following set up and couldn't be more pleased. Great for HT and music.

Rec: Onkyo TXDS595
DVD: Onkyo DVS555
Fronts: JBL S26
Rears: JBL N24
Center: JBL NCENTER
Sub: AudioSource SW10

I am in absolute audio/video heaven. Paid around $1,200 for all the audio and quality wire and hookups. Using a Sony 32" Wega Trinitron - KV32FV27 television. IMPORTANT: if you're going to spend the money on equipment - DON'T get cheap crap to hook it up with. Use the big, fat heavy stuff. It's more than worth it.

I was really nervous about all this coming in - but it arrived just fine mainly from www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com and secondly, 800.com. Both were a good experience - especially - BestPrice.

This system (N24's included) is amazing for the price. I researched for hours - mostly posts on this site and finally jumped into the "deep end." First DVD was Tomb Raider last night. I couldn't have asked for a better show of ear and eye candy to "Christen" my new system. Even the Mrs's was speechless.

Spend more if you must - but there is no need. If you are looking for a GREAT setup for the $$ - I can't recommend this combo enough. If you are looking for a great pair of $200 rear speakers for $100....look no further.
