Strength:

size and price. voice matched with other JBL northridge speakers. They are colored white

Weakness:

not sure since I am not asking much of them in the rear sorround position

This review is for the N24AW. I purchased these speakers to use as rear sorrounds and to match with my N26ii front speakers in my home theater system. The speakers were easy to mount to my rear wall. It would be nice if they had more bass however they do the job. my system: tv: mitsubishi 55" HDTV Reciever: Yamaha 5440 (65Wx5) DVD: Sony nsp700 Speakers: Front main: JBL N26ii Center: JBL N-center Rear sorround: JBL N24AW Subwoofer: Yamaha yst 305 (dual 8" 200w)

Strength:

Cheap and sounds very pleasing.

Weakness:

Overloads on bass-heavy material.

Very good sound quality for the money, I was surprised on how these small speakers can cast a solid soundstage and play as loud as I can stand. This is the first system that I bought brand new, and I''m very pleased by it.

Strength:

Very nice sound. Even though I use them as rears, when testing them I hooked them up to the front got get a good test. The sound great for small speakers. Actually they even have some pretty decent bass considering thier size.

Weakness:

At first I did not like the shape or the plastic. I guess with that shape, it would be had to do in wood. Since I plan to mount them anyway, it doesn''r matter. They are bigger than I wanted but I would not trade them for anything else after hearing them.

I bought these to replace a pair of Bose 100s. I think they are great. I am using them as rears on a Prologic system and I wanted something that could handle the average 100 watts of DD/DTS system when I eventually upgrade. The sound is limited on Prologic but even still it is an improvement over what I had. Excellent highs and decent midrange. I never expect much bass from rears so this is not problem for me. I get my bass from the front. The rest of my speakers are JBL so now I have a complete set. JBL ROCKS! These are normally $199 and I got them on sale for $119. I got the last one and wasted no time picking them up. Excellent deal!

Strength:

Solid performers all around for a great price!

Weakness:

Lows are a bit muddy but as others have said, please don''t use these as mains. They really are designed to be components in your HT. The reason why I couldn''t give 5 stars is these sound a little bit plasticky...

I am using these as my Rear channels in my HT system. Presently their only company is a couple of AudioSphere Research (100W RMS) 3-way monitors but they are pulling their weight just fine. Clear highs and nice solid midrange considering their size and plastic (I hate plastic) cabinetry.. All in all a fantastic purchase for the money. Get them while you still can because I think JBL has quickly realized that they are too good and discontinued them =) (Just kidding... JBL is a great company I''m sure they discontinued them to replace them with something else for me to buy ;)

Clarity Responsiveness Design/Appearance

Weakness:

Cant think of any!

I am using these as my surrounds for HTS. I really couldnt be happier with them. Very responsive, good clarity, and the inclusion of wall mounts is a very nice touch. I would be a bit hesitant to use these for my main fronts, but maybe Im just chicken! Cant beat the performance for the price.

Strength:

clarity,bass for its size,mounts.

Weakness:

you might have go out to get a second pair....for another room.

The Best set of speakers I ever heard.I was a bit tentative a first about buying these babies........because I could have gotten much bigger floor speakers for the same price....but I that would have been a big mistake. I am listening to my old cds as if it was the first time. I have since gotten a second pair for my home away from home. The wall mount is icing on the cake.

Strength:

Clear and crisp sound, Price, Size, Design, Mounting brackets included

Weakness:

none that stand out.

Best speaker I found for under 250$. I am using them as my 2 fronts as well as my 2 rears in my HT setup and I have to say they produce incredibly clear and crisp sound. Combined with a sub, these work really well even for regular audio. Also loved the fact that they come with mounting brackets...Overall, extremely satisfied. The only drawback would be the woofer size, but if you plan on buying a subwoofer (which you really should !!! It makes the listening experience much more enjoyable) than this becomes a non-issue.

Affordable beauty

For the price these little speakers have great sound and imaging qualities. They compare nicely with others costing many times more. I had bought them through mczone.com for $119 pair. excellent value!

Strength:

Crisp output, good looks, good for rears

Weakness:

Not much bass, but who cares when it is used for rears

I found these pair for a bargain at only $170 CDN tax included, compared to $200 CDN tax not included in many other places. Good looking speaker that is very good at high frequency ranges. However, bass is not the best but what can you expect from such a small speaker. Overall, good buy, great price.

Strength:

VERY clear highs/mids.

Weakness:

Poor bass response, needs subwoofer - I chose the JBL PB12.

I forgot to mention that in the first JBL NSP1 set I bought, one of the n24 speakers was defective out of the box. The magnet inside appeared to have come off of the speaker and it was rattling around. This could indicate poor build quality, but it may have just been a bad set of speakers.
