I have owned this unit for about 9 months now and NEVER have had any problems with it. I am still very impressed with its performance, especially when playing 96/24 audio DVD's. If you haven't tried a 96/24 audio DVD yet, I highly encourage you to do so. THE SOUND QUALITY WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! I use to think all that audiophile talk about sound stage, depth, presence and spatial orientation was a bunch of balony, until I listened to my first 96/24 audio DVD. Then I understood. Here is a copy of the review I posted earlier this year if you want to configure your player for true 96/24 playback:
Weakness:
I have discovered none so far! An OUTSTANDING unit for the price. There is no better value out there! |

Strength:
Great product for a great price
Weakness:
Not any I can think of I've had my player well over a year now and have not had a single problem with it. The few disks I have put in that didn't play well were problems with the disks, not the player. Simply cleaning off the disks fixed it. For the price, this player just can't be beat. This has been an excellent DVD player for me. No problems for over a year, even plays the Matrix flawlessly. I like it, although I would hesitate to recommend it because of the problems ohters ghave reported. |

Last about 1 to 2 years Its so funny, but it lasted the warranty period, if you guys would have done your research you would have purhased the extended warranties. It lasted the expected 2 years the life expectancy of a DVD at the time. I did and I am so Happy with my 110 and panasonic. Its a GREAT company I know you all had the chance to purchase an extended warranty and choose not to. So dont blame panasonic for you thinking you knew what was what. Panasonic said 1 year parts and 90 days labor. You knew it you took it now you baught budget player and you get what you pay for I wanted a 4 years player so I payed 39.99 or $10 a year and I had it replaced already. OH WELL!!! None, unit only lasted a year.
Weakness:
Unit lasted as long as the Panasonic warranty This unit is the worst piece of electronic equipment that I ever owned. It started out working fine but after a year, the unit would not play anything. I called Panasonic and they were no help. They wanted $169.00 just to diagnose the problem. Then, I would have to pay for parts and labor. I decided to replace it with a Pioneer which I should of bought in the first place. I would not accept another Panasonic unit if someone gave it to me. Similar Products Used: Pioneer DV-525 |

Nice video, DTS, Good price at time of purchase.
Weakness:
Crapped out after almost 2 yrs. The A110 has been flawless the past year and a half, until two days ago. It froze in the middle of a movie and I've been getting the "no disc" message ever since. I tried the lube fix but it didn't work. But now that I've thought about it why do I want a DVD player that I have to crack open periodically to fix. I just happened onto this message board thinking my problem was just a fluke. But after reading a number of posts all I can say is that I will not buy another Panasonic. Great price, first DTS compatable unit, great picture and sound
Weakness:
remote I laugh at all the negative reviews, I purchased an extended warranty. Since DVD was still in its' infancy I thought it was a good idea. I had the unit serviced once, covered by the warranty, never had a problem since. The 110 is the second generation unit by Panasonic and from all accounts it is an above average performer. It set a new standard for price performance ratio. I will purchase a DVD-audio player once available until then I will enjoy the 110. After all I've seen similar reviews on the Sony and Toshiba players. The Panasonic didn't have as many firmware problems as the other units. A true SOLID performer BRAVO Panasonic, now just make a decent HD-tv. Similar Products Used: Pioneer 525 |

Strength:
Good, pretty standard DVD player
Weakness:
Someimes pixelates I actually have not had (knock on wood) the problems that many patrons of the board have had and have owned my player for nearly 23 months. It has been fairly reliable and as a result I have fallen in love with panasonic, it's done well by me. But ye, I have experienced slight pixelation, but I find typically that when I eject the disc and clean its surface, such problems evaporate. I am very scared now that I visited this site, but honestly don't expect that much trouble, maybe I got one of the good ones, i don't know. But in light of all of these complaints I will almost assuredly not buy another panasonic DVD player. Similar Products Used: Sony DVD |

Great Picture and Sound
Weakness:
After 16 months of use, no major problems, other than a slight pause during a couple of layer changes. I do get nervous sometimes hearing some of the problems others have had with it. I think it's a great player(so far). But since there have been reports of problems from other owners, I would probably tell people to purchase at their own risk.
