Price, picture clarity
Weakness:
Rough on layer changes on RSDL discs Good solid inexpensive DVD player. A little rough on the layer changes of RSDL discs but for the price is a good deal |

Strength:
Picture quality
Weakness:
Layer change problems on some disks I've had this player for over 1 year and I've read alot of good and bad experiences from other owners. I consider myself on of the lucky ones as this player has given me minimal problems with layer changes and pixelation. Great value. |

Strength:
Price, Quality I've had this DVD player for over one year now and am still Impressed with it. It works great with my Yamaha Rx-v2092. I have only encountered the skipping chapter on a layer change a few times and no other peoblems. A must buy if you can find it. Similar Products Used: Panasonic A120 |

Strength:
Great value and performance if you don't get the occasional lemon.
Weakness:
Ergonomics The reports of lemon A-110s and Panasonic's response to these are troubling, but I've had no problems with mine so far. I've also used it for 1000-1200 hours without any pixelation (except for one dirty DVD) or glitches. The audio output is excellent, and the picture quality is great. My JVC had big problems with pixelation and shut-down - on Casablanca - but the Pioneer 515 and this player have been exemplary. The Panasonic beats the newer Pioneer's audio output; the Pioneer's was a bit grainy in comparison. That open button next to the play button on the remote is the biggest flaw I've found in the A-110. Strength:
GREAT PLAYER FOR THE MONEY.
Weakness:
HAVEN'T HAD ANY YET. BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS PLAYER I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH TRYING TO FIND THE BEST PLAYER FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I WAS WILLING TO PAY. SO I CHOOSE THE PANASONIC A110. I HAVE NO REGRET. |

Strength:
Passes both DD and DTS signal; low price
Weakness:
Remote Unit is not intuitively laid out. The Panasonic A110 was one of the first low-cost DVD players on the market that could pass both a DD and DTS signal. Although many early purchasers had trouble playing a number of discs on it, a firmware upgrade seems to have cleared up the problem for most users. My unit has performed flawlessly. |

Strength:
Good Picture Quality, Good Sound Quality
Weakness:
Somewhat cheap remote, but adequate Have had the A110 almost a year and have not had any major problems with it. I have a couple of times noticed the layer change pause that others have experienced, but it only lasts about a half a second and then continues. I have had no pixelization problems. Proactively I have done the software reset that is mentioned much earlier in this review list a couple of times through the year, though I don't know if that has had a positive effect on performance or not. Anyway, I am pleased with the unit. I use it in conjunction with the Technical DD/DTS decoder. Overall has been a good player. |

Strength:
Great picture and sound when it worked. Lots of handy features.
Weakness:
Besides the fact that I'm out $400 and no longer have a DVD player, the remote control is difficult to use. As many others have stated, my A110 worked fine for nearly a year and then one day the pixelation and lockup problems started. It has now been at the Factory Service Center in Cincinnati for over a month now. First I was told that it would be fixed entirely at Panasonics expense and that I would have it back in a week. Now it is a month later and I am being charged $90.00 labor to fix a faulty "Traverse Unit" that is on "National Backorder". I am very disappointed and will never buy anything from Panasonic again. I am considering just having them send it back to me unrepaired and pitching it in the rubbish. |
