Strength:

Improved bass and they look really cool.

Weakness:

Color

I purchased these because of the discounted price and was really not expecting and sonic improvements. I was wrong. After two weeks the bass seems....well....let's just say it sound better. It seems to have more impact. I would recommend you give these cables a try.

Price discounted dramatically at Audio Advisor $130 10ft. Retail $499+

Weakness:

Large and bulky

First I want say that I was actually looking for Analysis Plus- Oval 12 just because of their impressive technical data, but after reading reviews on MIT cables and especially Terminator 2, I went to their web site looking for their data; I was curies about their network Box that they use on all their cable line. I was more impress with MIT research then Analysis Plus, I recommend you read their "MIT White Paper on Cable Testing & Performance" at http://www.mitcables.com/pages/page51.html.

My first cable was a 12GA Monster Cable, I thought ; just buy a thick cable to hold the high current and that it. Period. After treading good reviews on a home made Category 5 cables; I build a pair just to see if there is any different; to my surprise it did sound different. I was happier with the Category 5 cables but I thought it was too bright at the top. (And that from a tube system with a tube CD player.) So I looked on...

Since I saw Audio Advisor selling them at so low prices and their 30 days money back guarantied , I ordered a 10 ft pair, terminated with gold banana plugs.

Connecting my tube integrated amp. the Jolida 502A 60W per channel (Highly recommended) to my Magnepan MMG speakers was a snap (banana is not favorite by audiophile but no one will argue about their convenience). Although I knew that a break in period is required I wanted to hear the before and after sound. Right out the box the sound strike me with its fullness, super low ground noise, highly detail without the annoying brightness/grannies that the Category 5 have and the bass was deep and fast; I was in audio heaven. The only thing need a break-it is the mid which was a little rough at the edges , after only 20 hours the sound was perfect smoootttthhhh from to bottom.

To all of you who think it is all B.S. are either lucky enough to have an un-audiophile ears (like my wife) or didn't use the right cable in their system - matching is important. Some confuse brightness with detail, the MIT cable show me that.

I becomes a believer, I will never buy a cable without a network box. It's ugly and bulky but its important if you want to hear the full potential of your system.

Of course highly , highly recommended!!! Get them now before Audio Advisor will ran out those babies.

Strength:

As satated on the box, Good in High note and bass is tight.

Weakness:

Hard to find, no complain at this price

After break in the cable follow the 2by2 rules from MIT. The first CD to test is Yoshi Kimura, a very famous guitarist from japan. Well I never realised that it can be so dynamic. Compare to the Cardas that I use before, the MIT create a very solid and clear sound reprodution.
I use both Interconnector and speaker from MIT. I believe this will please my ear at least next 3~4 years.
Worth to try out.

Soundstage, vocals

Weakness:

ugly ugly ugly

I have the T2 Bi-wires, and I love them...and maybe it is just my "cheap" (non-tube under $10,000) system, but I think they add some warmth and depth that is lacking in many recordings without muddying up anything. Why didn't they just make the boxes on these suckers red? The white color is awful against my black Lovan stands, and you can't hide these monsters. Also, my value rating could be a 7 with the deal I got on these that other have mentioned on Audio Advisor.

Strength:

They sound very nice

Weakness:

They are a bit obstructive and they can not be elonged.

They add a clearer bass and richer sound overall, they are costy but worth the price.
However, since I don't crank up the volume very often it took a little more time to "burn" them.

Has any one have a chance to compare the terminator 2 2000 either interconnect or speaker cables with the old terminator 2?

Strength:

Good bass control, convincing instrument reproduction

Weakness:

No high frequency extension, image that is confined to a three inch tall band between the tweeters, big fugly boxes and garden hose insulation that severly limit bending.

Review is for an 8' pair of Terminator 2 biwire speaker cable. Please realize that I detest this product. I purchased it for $200, though the list at my local shop was closer to $700. I thought I had found the most awesome deal ever.

There are two types reviews; those that rave about a product, and those that lambast it. The following review is surely a member of the latter classification. Do not think thatI have a grudge against this brand, even though I might, I would not do anything less honorable than to tender my own personal experience truthfully.

I got into audio because I love music and wanted to experience it more fully. I found a wonderful local dealer (if you ever venture into Memphis, Underground Sound is agreat place) and promptly spent the majority of my meager income there. I am 18, I work at Schlotzsky's, I have no money. I bought a wonderful setup that includes NAD C350 amp, NAD 541 cd player, and B&W CM4 speakers. This was a wonderful combination that communicated the heart of the music to me, even with the $7 per 50ft Radioshak speaker cable. For the first time, I was hearing depth in music with voices and istruments that floated above the spekers in their own unique bubbles. My dealer sold MIT and had been explaining the benifits of such a product to me, and I was convinced that I would buy some Terminator 4 biwire
cable when I ran aacross some disposable income. In looking for revies of those cables I found reference to Audio Advisor's good deals. I promptly purchased a pair of Terminatior 2's biwire for less than I could have bought the 4's for locally. I was happy.

I was happy, that is, until I plugged them in and let them break-in. I noticed a lack of very-high frequency detail right off the bat along with a lack of soundstage height and width. I attributed it to not being broken in and decided to wait for the instructed 2 months. After that time, there was no improvement but I thought that I hadn't been playing enough during the two months. So I waited longer. Nothing improved.

There was some good. Instruments were detailed and sounded real. I could here the different weights of picks on acoustic guitars and the fretboard buzzings. Bass instruments were weighty without being uncontrolled. the midrange was clean.

I finally got fed up and put back in the radioshak wire. Much better, indeed. I then borrowed some Kimber Kable, and found out what people are talking about about high-end cable. Everything just sounded better, was in its right place, and the speakers did not reveal their positions.

In addition to the bad experience with the cable, I have a problem with the company itself. They didn't do anything to me except offend me with their propaganda marketing. Apparently, the guy who founded MIT craps Hi-Fi Ice cream, and the worst MIT product is so much better than the best of their competition's it renders all other products obsolete. And don't get me started on that stupid EEAR rating and those diagrams of the image in the brochures.

I had a bad experience, you might not. In my system, in my room, these cables were terrible. I would have given 2 stars to be nice, but the descriptions of the 2 star rating were much too nice. 1's all around.

I do know that there is at least one excellent system that uses MIT cables exclusively. It costs about 50K and is at Underground Sound. Spectral also requires the use of MIT products, and Spectral is good stuff.

Complete system:
NAD 541 CD PLayer
Kimber PBJ 1m
NAD C350 Int. Amp.
XLO Ultra 4 used as jumper on amp
MIT Terminator 2 biwire (thankfully, not anymore)
B&W CM4

This review is for the MIT T-2 bi-wire speaker cables. I have had them for almost 5 years and they still are worth the $500 I paid for them is '97. Any audio system I have in the future will definatly use MIT cables as well. These make even high-end Monster Cable sound like $1/foot cables.
