Strength:
Ability to tame shrill sytems
Weakness:
Some veiling of the top end and deeper bass. These cables (MIT-2 Biwire) actually work quite well with "bright" to harsh sounding systems. They seem to tame some of the digital etch that causes listener fatigue. However as I upgraded my amp, preamp, cd/dac and speakers(over a period of years) I noticed that the cables seem to veil the top end and blur the deepest bass. They made my system (at the time) a little more listenable. I tried several speaker cables up to about $12/ft and none really trounced the MIT''s... until I built a set of pure .999 silver bi-wire with teflon insulation. |

Good cable, but do you know you can blow them. I didn't. Just played some nice and dynamic opera and down they are. So when you don't play too loud this cable is a standard if else take a MIT 750 |

Strength:
Proper balance between highs and lows. Impressive bass detail. No loss of signal on long run.
Weakness:
Large, but since it works, no real complaint I have a Bi-Wire pair custom length pair. |

Strength:
Opens that soundstage door
Weakness:
None so far, I'm still burning them in One word-WOW- I've been doing this audio thing for 25 years and each improvement is just that, wow. I've had the same equipment for six years now and have been doing a gradual cable upgrade. First it was AQ Emeralds, last year was AQ Forest. The sound was good, but my CD playback was still a bit edgy. I was thinking of a DA processor {still am} when a rearrangement of components required a longer interconnect. So in my search both used and new, Audio Advisor offered 15' lengths of Terminator 2's for a reasonable price. What the hell, if I didn't like them I could return them. Woah baby, these are keepers. Strength:
nice soundstage, smooth highs, tight bass, midrange is not exaggerated, no phase distortion! I put these puppies on my CD out and they didn't exaggerate the sound at all. They just sounded clean, and accurate! The lower members of the family aren't bad, either as I use the Terminater 4 for the tape deck. I make CD-R's of my Lp's and I use the T-2 for the analog transfers. Strength:
Thick cord,(looks like it can handle the most powerful signal)Noticable improvement in all frequencies
Weakness:
heavy and looks like a NASA Shuttle fuel line I have about 15000 dollars invested in home theater and audio equipment. From the beginning,(10 years ago),I believed the audiophile camp that states all interconnects and speaker wire sound the same.(provided you have the right guage in longer runs)...Because of this I basically used what I felt were well built but inexpensive speaker and interconnects..(Always avoid the cheap stuff that comes with electronics, these I dont trust)..However,three years ago I decided to make the jump to high-end cables.......WOW what a difference.!!!..As soon as I placed my first MIT5 speaker cables on,and outfitted all my interconnects with MIT4s I noticed an immediate improvement in sound debth, bass reproduction, high frequency clarity and accurate music reproduction....When I saw AudioAdvisor list the MIT2 speaker connects on sale for what I paid several years ago for the MIT5s I had to upgrade.....My conclusion is that the MIT2s have a slight edge in both high frequency and low frequency reproduction...After the break in period I noticed that I didnt have to turn up my Amp to the same level as the 5s to get the same sound pressure levels.?.Intresting......Anyway,sure there are many other high-end cables out there and I now believe that they do matter...However,at the MITs current price reduction,(in order to clear out old stock and make room for the new models) dont pass up this opportunity.!!!In my system they did make a difference!!! Strength:
simply an excellent cable
Weakness:
none so far I upgraded to the MIT T2 bi-wire speaker cables from the MIT T4 (non-bi-wire) cables. In only a week, the cables have lived up to the billing: improved definition in the low, mid- and high ranges and improved soundstage. Although I was initially skeptical that the T2 bi-wires would provide much improvement over the T4s, I have been more than pleasantly surprised. (System: NAD components, B&W CDM1 speakers, MIT T3 interconnects) |

Strength:
Smooth. But it is two sides of the coin.
Weakness:
Vocal is coloured. Losing details. This review is regarding mit2 interconnect. This cable smooths out the whole frequency spectrum and not does as it was adevertised (well defined bass, clear). its losing details and vocal is highly coloured. I am sure the network box is nothing but a couple of resistors and capcitors built to filter out frequencies. Similar Products Used: DH-lab, PBJ, Hero, straightwire chorus. |
