Strength:

Smooth, rich sound, yet lots of sonic details

Weakness:

Will likely not work in every situation

For some, this will be the ultimate interconnect to use between a cd player or dac and preamp. Would likely also work great between a solid state preamp and solid state amp. However, this would not be my first choice to try add some zip to a laid back sounding system or I would not use it to feed a tube amplifier.
This cable presents a rich, full bodied midrange, very good (a little loose) bass and smooth highs. What makes this cable unique is that it presents this tonal balance but does not seem to sound like it is acting as a filter. If you listen to a lot of acoustic intruments and want to hear the full body of a guitar, violin of piano, try this cable. If you think digitally reproduced high frequencies sound bad, try this cable. If you don't like the sound of silver cables, try this cable. However, try before you buy-this cable sounds different than most others.

When I bought some Martin Logan SL-3's speakers, I had to replace almost everything in my stereo system. The only thing left is my 12 year old Yamaha radio tuner. As I was replacing everything, I wanted some good wires and Digital Ear in Tustin CA. told me about Harmonic Tech. Precision-Links copper wires. I connected these from an Acurus ACT3 Pre-Amp to an Adcom 5503 3 channel 200 watt Amp for the rear surround sound and center speakers (Martin Logan Scripts and Logos). I wasn't that pleased, but later I found that there was a better product from Harmonic Tech; the Truth-Links. Once I replace the Precision-Links with the Truth-Links, my system came alive. I then went through nearly my whole system replacing my old Monster Cable with this fine product except the VSR, radio, and HDTV receiver, which I left with the Precision-Links. My thinking was that with these types of stereo equipment, the Truth-Link would be over kill (why waste the money on not so good sounding media). With any Pre-Amp to Amp connection, I used the Silways, another great product from Harmonic Tech. I just love these interconnects and they out preform any Monster cable product that I use to have. The purity and balance can only be revealed in experience and I am wasting time writing about them. GREAT Product. P.S. see reviews on Precision-Links and Silways.

Strength:

Grainless, detailed, low-noise

Weakness:

System dependent

As with most other "components", these cables will sound perfect in some systems, and be a horrible match in others. With that said, in my system, connecting a Well Tempered Reference table/van den Hul Black Beauty cartridge, CAT Ultimate preamp, and Atmasphere M60 mk.2 amps, the Truth Links are excellent cables.

They provide a silent background, as if a layer of noise has been removed. They are very detailed, without emphasizing any particular part of the musical spectrum. They enable the rest of the system to float an image that is comparable to some of the best cables out there. It was immediately noticeable that the Truth Links were superior to the Cardas Neutral Reference cables in each of the areas noted above.

The fact that the price of admission is far below the competition - which is around $2k - makes these cables a true best buy. Definitely worth a try, but again, I wouldn't expect any cable to provide a universal solution for all systems.

Please see my (non-commercial) site at http://www.21stCenturyServices.com/Audio for more information.

Thanks, JerryS

Strength:

Smooth treble, natural midrange, precise bass. Great level of detail and microdynamics. Wide and clear soundstage. Great build quality.

Weakness:

Sonics: None detectable with my gear. A little stiff due to thickness- take note if you have limited rack depth.

After a year of using the QED Qnect 1 interconnects (about $ 40) and being reasonably happy, I started considering upgrades. My goal was to increase the detail levels, smooth the treble out, improve the soundstage and hopefully have a more natural midrange. The latter was less important, as the QED cables to very well in this area, given their price.

A fellow audio enthusiast encouraged me to listen to the Harmonic Technology products, and the Truth-Link in particular. He felt the musicality of their products was outstanding. Many reviews backed this up. I had a chance to hear the Harmonic Technology Precision-Links with JMLab Mezzo Utopia speakers, Conrad-Johnson amplification, and an Audio Refinement CD player. They were originally set up with Analysis Plus' Silver In, which costs about $ 600. When inserting the HT cables and hearing the same track (Cassandra Wilson's "Harbor Lights/Blue in Green", from "Traveling Miles"), the differences were less than obvious, impressively enough. Then we used the QEDs as a baseline, and that made the step down pretty clear. Percussion lost decay, highs became harsh, and the midrange lost its palpable nature.

I found a pair of used Truth-Links on the Internet, bought them, and have only used them for a couple of days. However, as they are about two years old, they are fully burned-in, and the difference is incredible, even in a budget system like mine (see below).

All the tonal improvements I expected from my research happened, along with more precise bass, wider and more accurate positioning of the musicians in the soundstage, and excellent improvement of detail. I have read references to these cables as "musical". I believe this stems from two qualities; the natural midrange and the level of detail, which allows the basslines and drums/percussion to come forth. The emergence of the rhythms causes your toes to tap. The soundstaging allows you to pick out shifts in positioning that are remarkable to behold. I couldn't stop smiling when playing my favorite CDs, and the goosebumps I used to get when the system was new returned once more.

The build quality of the Truth-Links is impressive. The RCA connectors are locking models with gold plating, and the cable itself is about as think as the RCAs. The wires are wrapped in black plastic mesh, and look more utilitarian than anything- but who cares, it's a cable. They are pretty stiff, however, and require proper clear space behind your components (4"-5", at least).

In short, I love these cables and they were well worth the investment. The cost is a bit high for budget audiophiles, however, so if used Truth-Links are hard to find, the Precision-Links are great cables as well for about half the price ($ 130). What impressed me the most is how well their little siblings, the Precision-Links, compared to cables several times the price. Unless I purchase gear that does not synergize with the Truth-Links, they might just be my last intercoonects. Naysayers who believe cables don't make a difference should try Harmonic Technology products.

Highly recommended. Now I just have to upgrade my speaker cables... (Tara Labs RSC Prime 500s are my goal right now, though Harmonic Technology makes speaker cables as well)

My equipment:
Source: NAD C520 CD player on halved squash balls, mass-loaded on top
Amp: Cambridge Audio A3i integrated on halved squash balls
Speakers: PSB Century 500is on sand-filled Lovan Ballet III stands
Cables: Harmonic Technology Truth-Link interconnects and Tara Labs Prism Omni speaker cables

Last spring, when a got a Rega Mira integrated to go with my Rega Planet, I was troubled by a slight brightness in my system. The Mira/Planet combo was doing some great things in terms of sound quality, but was also bringing on some listening fatigue. I decided to address this problem by replacing my Synergistic Alpha Sterling interconnects with HT Truth Link. Good decision!! The Truth Link's sounded good from the beginning and continued to get better after 30+ hours of burn in. The brightness I heard disappeared, along with the listening fatigue, but the detail stayed. I now have a broad, deep soundstage with excellent front to back imaging. No need to search for any other interconnects.

When I compared these to the nordost blue Heavens I noticed such a diffrence that i felt no amount of money was worth these cabels. I am not sure that the nordost cabels are the right cabels either but I was bored with the harmonic techs after 20minutes.

Strength:

Natural and unforced. Great weight- overall a superb cable.

Weakness:

If your system is laid back to begin with, this cable isn't the best choice.

I've compared the Truth Link to the Pro-Silway Mk.II- I've had both in my home. Both are very fine cable, and are seemingly more system dependant then I've experienced previosly with other cables. If your system is rather laid back, then by all means, investigate the Pro-Silway, but if you are looking for great neutrality, or if your system can tend towards the up close and personal side, the Truth Link is the cable in the HT line to use- and it's a good deal less expensive then the Pro-Silway to boot.

I will rate these cables a 5/5, in the right system. I think the Pro-Silways would rate a 4/5, also for the right system.

Strength:

Smooth,lack of grain,great bass

Weakness:

Not the most open sounding

This is a really great cable,it has great bass, smooth treble, cymbal crashes sound real, not brash,or phase distorted. Not as open as the Pro-Silway II,but it will work better in systems that are slightly tipped up in the treble,or need really great bass

Strength:

Very high benefit to cost ratio

Weakness:

None known

Here lies the arch-skeptic, defeated. I must admit, sheepishly, that I have been a strong skeptic of the benefits of cables and interconnects and resisted buying any for a long time. I am an engineer (not a EE) with a basic understanding about circuits. I refused to believe that wires would significantly affect the sound.

One day, someone with a very high end system and a budget to match told me about Harmonic Technologies. He said that has owned all of the kilobuck interconnects and cables, but found that the Truth Link interconnects were the best overall performers and had a moderate price.

After A LOT of research, and with some hesitation, I ordered Truth Link interconnects for my system which consists of ADS 910 speakers vertically bi-amped with an active crossover and a pair of Hafler DH200 amps and a mass-market CD player. (I know, I know, it's not exactly state of the art.)

When the arrived, I hooked them up and turned the system on, hoping that I would not feel too foolish for throwing money away.

WOW!!! I felt foolish all right, but it was because of my ignorance, not because I wasted money. The overall improvement in sound surpassed my greatest hopes. In EVERY AREA, improvement was significant. All of those worn out accolades applied. The improvement in detail was stunning. I don't only mean in the high frequencies, but everywhere. For example, on one Sousa march cut, I thought there was a triangle being played with the band. But I found out that it was a glockenspiel immersed in the band, but playing the melody. In a cut from Messiah, I could actually hear the soprano shaping her mouth to create the sound she wanted, something I have never heard before except at a live concert.

I could go on and on, but what would be the point. These interconnects alone improved the sound of my system AT LEAST as much as a significant component upgrqade for a fraction of the cost.

Are they better that any of the big-dollar competition? I don't know and will probably never find out. The bottom line is that I am more than satisfied and would recommend these interconnects (and this manufacturer) to anyone. They were very helpful to me and answered a long list of questions in numerous phone calls.
