Strength:

Warmth, size & flexibility, ease to use terminated or unterminated, price-to-performance ratio.

Weakness:

None so far.

I am not a wire connoisseur, but having read tons of reviews, I was seeking a wire that would complement my system while warming up some of its brightness, all at a reasonable price. I got these for 2.50/ foot unterminated. Because they are solid core wires, they are easy to use without spade or plugs -- in fact they are probably better this way, since you get a close connection.

These wires work perfectly. I run two 8-foot pairs and a 67-foot strand to my center channell with:

Yamaha 795 A/V receiver
Energy eXL 25s - main speakers
Energy eXLc - center channel
Infinity bookshelves (old) as rear surrounds
No sub yet
Toshiba 1600 DVD
2M Monster Coaxial digital audio interconnect to receiver

Clearly, I didn't want to overspend on cables. For a comparably-priced system, I'd have to say that these cables are great. I noticed the improvement over my assortment of crappy zip cords and 14ga. generic wires immediately, and after the AQ's broke in, they sounded warm, they diminished the brightness I was getting from my system (from either the Yamaha or the eXL 25s, never been quite sure). If you want to improve your system for a reasonable price, go find these cables, or buy them from Audioadvisor.com. Skip the termination, unless you need it for some special convenience purposes.

Strength:

Strong bass, clarity, detail, smooth mids and highs

Weakness:

Slightly toward the dark side of neutral

I purchased a 6-foot pair of Type 4 with spade termination from Audio Advisor. This is solid core wire and as such sounds different than the multistrand stuff so many are used to.
I'd have to say it's a big improvement over the Original Monster Cable I was using. Bass is much tighter, mids and highs more liquid and smooth. This stuff greatly improved the bass from my Mission 701 speakers.
Type 4 is a natural sounding cable that is slightly on the dark side of neutral. I don't think you can do much better for the price. Used with entry level audiophile equipment this is the best cable around!

I owned a true bi-wired pair of these cables for 2 years. For the money, they're quite impressive. They don't sound anything like what I have now, or any high priced audiophile quality cables, but being nealy as cheap as a pair of Radio Shack cables, they're a steal. Neutral sounding, solid bass(not boom), and good imaging. I now have a pair of bi-wired Straight Wire Duet cables, which cost over 10 times as much, but I wouldn't say that they're 10 times better.

I've got a set of AudioQuest Type 4+ speaker wires, and they're WONDERFUL! I previously had the Type 2's. The 4's are a MUCH better beast. I'm VERY impressed with the crispness and quality of sound that I'm getting with this. If you are looking for some great wire, do yourself a favor and give this stuff a listen!

Strength:

Great detail, rich and tight bass, full imaging with depth

Weakness:

None

This speaker cable is great. It works very fine with my budget system of Technics CD player, NAD integrated amp and Tannoy speakers. I use the Type 4 with bare wire connection (no termination). It gives great detail, rich and tight bass, and full imaging with depth. I tried DH Labs T-14, but T-14 didn't give the rich bass and full imaging with depth that Type 4 does. So, I decided to keep the Type 4.
I want to know if there's any better speaker cable at the same price range (Type 4 is $2.50/ft).

Strength:

Price, Deep Bass, Sound Field Producing

Weakness:

none found

i bought it at US$2 for a DIY set
that means no plug on it
i just plug this into my speaker and AV receiver

before the cable wss warmed up, i could find that the bass is much improved. After that, i know that it's worth. It really tell u how a good sound field is produced.

for a better budget, u may choose CV4
but it's US$7

I am really happy with these cables. I have them between my Denon 2700, and a pair of Polk RT55's and a Polk CS400 center channel speaker. In particular, acoustic music is enhanced with these cables in place.
Hey Audio Guy From Hong Kong, if you still have your Type 4's and still hate them so much, how about selling them to me?

Strength:

Great overall sound and value.

For the money this cable cant be beat. It is a great step up from the monster cable that I was using. The bass is much more tight and well defined. Overall sound quality has been improved greatly, espically after the break in period

Strength:

Clear highs, good mid range response, tight bass

Weakness:

NO LOW BASS CAN GET THROUGH THESE WIRES >_<

Okay, to test how good these speakers wires are, I hook my pairs of PSB 6Ts to my amp. One speaker used the radio shack wire, and another used AudioQuest type 4+. I truned the blance nob from right to left, listened back and forth.
I foud yes, they do improve the high range and mid range JUST A LITTLE BIT, and the bass is tigher and more refined, HOWEVER the bass response of AQ type 4+ is so tight that the deep bass respons the radio shack 14 AWG P.O.S. wire sounded 3 times better. I regret buying this cable, too much money for such an litte tiny tiny improvement.. NOT WROTH IT, LISTEN TO THEM YOURSELF BEFORE BUYING, MAYBE JUST MY EARS DON'T LIKE THEM :)
