BIG WOW ! Now this is what I call QUALITY……… However I bet it does not sound that much better than the “CARY” 300B tubed …… duel mono blast from the past .. and its made in JAPAN … beside the 1966 Toyota 2000GT I can’t think of ANY ThING made in Japan thats better than AMERICAN MADE in little ole CARY NORTH CAROLINA. Give me speakers from Hope Arkansas, and a Amp from North Carolina and my fathers old Garard turntable …. my 1961 Custom Esquire and my 1963 Vibroverb a fifth of “REBEL YELL” and leave me be.

    Coon Dawg -

So you’re saying – you place nationalism higher than quality?

“So you’re saying – you place nationalism higher than quality?”

Who says “quality” is equivalent with “foreign”?
Go on ahead and pay $28,000 for an amp that puts out a paltry 8w – and feel GOOD about it!

My AMERICAN-MADE McIntosh MA-6850 will not only embarrass this Japanese creation, but it does it for less than 25% of the retail price!

    Deo Vindice!

  • adam says:

but you know McIntosh is owned by a Japanese company, right?

Anyways – the point being – is that quality shouldn’t matter what country it comes from. If you like the sound and the budget is with in your range than sound is really all that matters. American made vs. whatever – just taking American made over the other for no good reason other than nationalism is just selling your ears short.

  • John Mayberry says:

And that the 300B is an old Western Electric (read AT&T) design?

    It gets confusing after awhile.

  • Sid says:

Anyone that judges a tube amp by power output is not a true audiophile.
