great picture, cost, decent audio

TV as big as 36", side mounted speakers cause this.

Got this TV just before DirecTV hooked up. Picture much better then w/old cable company. Picked this TV over the other JVC (not D series) for the better audio (not viewing ht). As the other reviewer, this set is temp. till digital TV's become more affordable and tech issues worked out.
At this level TV's only Sony seemed better.

After a bit of research on this site (Thanks Norbert), I chose this TV. Originally was looking for a 36" but the prices scared me off. So, out of the 32" models, I think this was the best value. I can't talk in technical terms - I thought a comb filter is for getting rid of errant hair.
Anyway, the picture looks great. Not as good as a Sony, but then this was at least $300 cheaper. Add in the component inputs for watching my DVDs and I'm happy. Sounds good too. I'll have to buy some speakers though to get that 5.1 sound.

I originally bought the Toshiba 32A40. It died on day 5 of ownership - so I took it back and went to Circuit City to get the JVC. You can't beat this set for the price. The picture is great through cable, s-video and component inputs. Good choice until digital televisions are more affordable.

ugly looking remote

Great set. I compared it to a 32" model for both Toshiba and Sony and saved money for what I thought to be a better looking picture.
