Strength:

Deep solid base, music/movie selctor switch

Weakness:

None discovered yet

I use it in a room with no solid walls, large open plan and three huge windows and a sliding door, yet this sub still delivers. When using setup tools which really drops the base down to 20Hz you could really rattle the room. I manage to give the roof plates and burglar bars a could shake. No jokes. If you are a person who likes the room to rattle with explosions, etc. consider buying this sub. The base is not perfect for audio cd`s but runs great with music dvd`s. I am yet to discover the weakness to this sub.

thumbs up for this product! ;-)

One of my friends has the ystsw160, and I thought it sounded great. I then purchased the 320, and I was impressed. My system simply got more power! This Product is a knockdown! I don´t regret my investment

Strength:

Extension, Power, Looks, Size, Volume

Weakness:

Heavy!

Had this little Nuclear device less than a week. GREAT bass. The only weakness i've found so far is that when I play it at my sort of high volumes, it looses speed and there is some port noise, but this is at like half on my amp, and full bass on the sub. It goes LOW aswell. Tracks like Leftfields Dusted, and Prodigy sound PHAT. Buy one - they impress your mates! Both of mine that came round to see it said out of 10 it was off the scale. Another interesting thing is that when it's on full bass, and fairly loud, look at the driver, i had Prodigy on and u just get a torch and look underneath - the driver's barely moving!!! wow! It's all good exept for very high volumes. That might just be me though - so 5 stars it is.

Weakness:

easy to blow out fuse?????

It has good looking but problems. The first one blows out the fuses(i guess so cause it produces irregular sound like hard door knocking) after 2 days. Then I get an exchange. The second one has the same problem when I turn my YAMAHA RXV800 receiver a little louder. Anyone knows why and has the same problem? Email answer to me at hanbochen68@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Strength:

Build quality, design, price, and of course great, tight bass

Weakness:

Um...not the tightest sub for demanding, musical bass.

Recieved this great sub about two weeks ago and am very pleased with its performance. I'm only seventeen so my budget was rather limited. Let me say that for under $300 you get a sub that looks, feels and sounds much more expensive. It's a well designed, solid unit (weighs 38 lbs) with a potent amp (250 Servo controlled watts) and a great 10 inch woofer in a down-firing design which allows some variation in the placement. Also the cutoff (40-140 Htz) and volume knobs are located on the front of the unit.
For HT it is amazing, I was blown away the first time I put The Matrix in my DVD player. The floor shakes and the window panes rattle, and thats just on the menu. I had to make special bumpers for my pictures so that they stopped vibrating on the walls. For my smallish 22x17 bedroom any thing more would be unrealistic. As it is I only have it turned to 60 percent.
For music it's also good I think but can be a bit sloppy(but not boomy) at high volumes. I listen to all sorts of music: Hip Hop, Jazz and Rock primarily and I finally relized how much music I was missing. I keep the crossover at 80-120 htz (depending on music)and the volume at half-75% and it blows me away. Every thing sounds fuller and deeper and it compements my Polk RT3s well. Listening to music will never be the same.
For under a thousand bucks you can't beat Yamaha's YSTSW320 (unless it's the YST800, but go figure). I recomend it highly.
My meager system:
Onkyo 484 DD reciever
JVC combo cd/md player recorder deck
sony 530D dvd player
magnavox vcr
sony 27" TV
Polk RT3 front and sorround speakers
Polk rt275i center channel

Strength:

good bass for a small sub

Weakness:

port noise at low frequencies

Altough i am quite satisfied with this sub, i must say that that the 250W amp which Yamaha claims to have in this sub is a bit misleading. If one checks the back of the sub, one finds that it has a power consumption of 60Watts !! So how can it have a 250W amp in it ?? Clearly the power rating of the amp is not measured in RMS but some other unknown rating..

Strength:

Tight, clear sound, looks great, Great value.

Weakness:

None yet....

I cant compare it to higher end subs but this or any other sub for that matter...but I am pleased. It is every thing I wanted or needed to finish off my home theatre/music system.
I can go on and on.................But I wont..Bottom line if you are building A system and you love great sound and cant afford Top Draw stuff buy this sub...I did alot of research and sound tests for the money you cant beat it..this thing can even run with the big dogs.
