Strength:

Powerfull tight Bass

Weakness:

Price

I just bought a Sony DB830 (read review) which has sub pre outs. My old Sony DE515 (read review) had no pre outs so The Klipsch 50 watt was a line level in put, it really did the job but with a new receiver I figured a new Sub would go nicely.

I listened to AR, Infinity and the Velodyne and there was no choice as far as I was concerned althought the price was a stumbling block $429 at Cicuit City, Onecall and several other sites. It seems that Velodyne controls there price even on the net...
Due to a posting here on trying for an open box I gave Circuit City in Sarasota a call only a 35 min drive, guess what they had one that an employee took out for one day and returned it for a CT-120, lucky for me I got it for $369 minus another $10 for gas(just ask)....

Hooked up to the Sony db-830, Bose 201 front, Bose VCS10 center and JBL rears the CT100 does a great job.

I have it set at 1/2 volume at the rear and the fact you could set it to be used with the recievers Crossover or its own is very well thought out...

All in all its a great sounding Sub..
Definitly worth a try for an open box within an hours drive of home...

Good luck out there!!!!

Strength:

Good bass. Very clean and tight. Can rumble with the best of them. Shakes the house and floor.

Weakness:

Hard to get configured exactly right. Instructions not super clear.

I love this sub. It has good sound, good bass, good depth and can shake the house. I listened to several different models before picking this. (Of course, I'd read many reviews of it on this site.) I listened to a new model by Polk but wasn't impressed with the actual cone on the Polk. The sounds were very close and the Polk was a little more expensive. I'm happy with this sub, now that I (think) I have it set up correctly. I will say this, cable sure is expensive when you go to buy speakers. My wife keeps reminding me of this fact. Try this sub with your eyes closed when you compare it to other models. It has very good sound, even when side by side with bigger, more expensive models.

Strength:

Deep And Tight Bass Response, Distortion Free, Solid Build Quality.Anti-clipping protection,Great Value!!!!!!!

Weakness:

None in This Sub.

I mated the ct100 with paradigm's mini moniter's.and it screams the sub really feels in whats missing on the lower octaves.watching star wars episode1 on video, the scene where they are pod racing.it felt as if my whole room was being jolted by the massive out put of the ct100,it literally shook my listening room at ease, and with no strain or distortion.the only minor adjustments needed was with the volume and crossover settings,my sub is rolled of at 80hz,and the volume not even at the halfway mark.this is the one to get, trust me you'll love it.LISTENING TO JAZZ IS SO SMOOTH AND FLAT, BUT WITH DEEP AND TIGHT DEFINITION TO BASS.OH YEAH, AND YOU CAN DRIVE THE HELL OUT OF THIS SUB,GREAT VALUE GO GET IT

Purchased locally, Which is saying something since Billings dose not really have a high end stereo shop. CT-100 listes for 499.00 took the dealer a printout from abc stereo.com for 328.00 and they matched it. I am using the CT-100 for home theater set-up, already have a M&K sub for audio only. Compairing the two, really no difference but the price, about 300.00 bucks more for the M&K. Other components used are:

Sony 32" TV, Sony head amp and DVD, M&K Center Channel, Magnepan MMG's and Super 0's for surround.

The CT-100 really enhances the low end performance of the MMG's. Gives the low end without being intrusive or rumbly. For the money a great buy, would recommend to anyone at list price.

Strength:

tight bass, nice range of crossover freq, can use internal or external crossover, cannot tell where bass is coming from (ie: omnidirectional)

Weakness:

no binding posts for speaker level inputs, no high gloss finish

This sub is simply no comparison to the JBL sub that I owned in the past. This one outclasses it by far. The bass is nice and tight and definitey not boomy at all and blends in very well with my setup. Both music and home theatre sound very good.

It came down to 2 choices for subs: polk psw 350 and velodyne ct 100. I listened for a long time and decided that spending 100 bucks more for the ct-100 was worth it. The polk sub is good too but you can pick out where the bass was coming from and it didn't go down as low as the velodyne and lacked that extra low end punch. The polk psw 350 also made a slight humming noise when no signal was input. Very annoying.

Buy this sub, you won't be dissapointed.

Strength:

Very warm sounding Sub, blends with other speakers well

Weakness:

I bought this 2 days ago and I have to say that this sub is awesome! It blows away my old Polk sub. I also don't understand what some of the other reviewers mean when they say it doesn't sound good with music. I think this is a very well rounded sub. It sounds excellent with music and movies. It also blends very well with my other speakers. It seems to have brought out the detail in my Polk towers and center. Final word, this is an excellent buy!!!!

Strength:

price, base is not boomy, clean and tight

Weakness:

I purchased the klh from sams club just based on price alone for $139.00. This sub is not worth a penny. Have been shopping for new equipment and decided based on the reveiws read here and other articles to purchase the velodyne. Praise the lord its wonderful!! I could not be any happier. I would recommend the ct100 to anybody with a room size 16x20 or smaller. Remember, if this is not big enough you can upgrade at circut city within one year. Just pay the difference and your into a ct120.

Strength:

low bass, high value, easy to connect

Weakness:

cheap finish, questionable fiberboard construction

The CT-100 provides a very good value to performance ratio. I think the M&K V-75 is probably a slightly better sub, but it does not have the same ease of connectivity that the velodyne has and is not worth 50% more money. The velodyne blended easily into my system and provides excellent extension. Its a good balance of quantity and quality of bass at this price.

system:
main speakers - NHT 1.5
preamp - Mccormack
amp - Adcom
