I finally figured this sub out. I have Rf3's as front stage which are capable of very good bass, this sub seemed to hide and not produce much bass in 5.1,the fix was setting it to 180 out!

Also I placed it in the front stage on the left side in adjacent to an open doorway which opened up the deep rolling bass from movies. And musically it now has punch and the boominess is gone.

This sub is a monster and good at what it does, you just have to work with placement and adjust correctly with your mains.

This subwoofer is much better than my other 12 inch subwoofer. There are some aspects of bass sounds that small sized speakes (even with electronic enhancement) cannot reproduce. This subwoofer kicks...highly recomended. DSG, Musician / Recording Artist

Strength:

Seemingly unlimited and effortless power. Good construction quality. Totally controlled during Dolby digital and DTS movies.

Weakness:

None really to speak of.

This powered sub is absolutely powerful in every respect. I love it everytime I watch a movie. For music, it may be a bit on the boomy side but I bought it strictly for home theatre use and in that application it rivals subs over twice the price. This sub has tremendous output easily crushing the room its in. Watching movies has never been the same as proven by the opening explosion scene on the landing platform in SW ATOC. It provides bass you can feel from an 800 watt digital BASH amp and a strong 15 inch driver. I even modified it by installing a heavy duty spiral wound silver core cable between the amp and driver which provided more output at the extreme bottom end.

Likes to dance on the hardwood floor. When i crank my La Scala`s up, it`s like the sub isn`t there.

Strength:

POWER. Accuracy for a 15 inch is great if positioned proberly.

Weakness:

Needs carpet spikes or super glue on hardwood because it likes to dance around the floor.

Absolutley Incredible Sub...paid $800 cdn. This sub is capable of knocking out your windows. I've broken many glasses an pictures with it. It is quite sensitive to positioning but that's pretty minor. If you want a sub that can't be beat under 1000 dollars buy this one. You won't be dissapointed.

Strength:

Insane amounts of rumbling bass. Scared my cat the first day.

Weakness:

None that I've heard. Maybe a little muddy, but spend another 2 grand on a Velo with servo control if it's that important. You'll get mud with everything else under that.

Bought as part of a Refrence package purchase. Was skeptical due to the amount of negative review on some audio message boards but purchased anyway because it was at least worth the deal the salesman gave me. Brought system home and setup sub a bit hotter than main speakers. Put Attack of the Clones DVD in and hit PLAY. This thing shakes the walls, couches and kitchen, and I live in a concrete apartment (floors, ceilings, walls, no wood) with steel doors and anclosed in brick. I was worried about this place absorbing all the bass until the Queen's ship flyover in the opwning scenes. And the sub didn't protest, crackle, clack, or fart. Top Gun is the same. I guess because I usually listen to bass heavy club music, I don't notice the "muddiness" some complain about, but the sub is cleaner than the 2 older 15" mud boxes I've got in another room. Heard a Sunfire and a Velodyne servo sub. Sunfire sounded goog for it's size, but less output and 3x more expensive. Velo sounded good but didn't have same kick (maybe I need to hear a little distortion to enjoy it?) Good sub, not $1400 bucks better. Definitely worth the purchase price.

Strength:

Very clean, hits hard.

Weakness:

None that I've found yet (but I'm always listening).

I have this hooked up with a Sony V555ES Receiver, and Bose AM-15 speakers. The bass hits really hard when it needs to. The blinds across multiple rooms will vibrate when bass dominates the music, but I have heard nothing but clean sound from the sub. The sound fills a very large room. The main weakness in my system is the lack of crisp high frequencies from the bose. I don't think it's worth the retail price, but for around $500, I can recommend nothing better

Strength:

DEEP BASE. Responsive to both music and movies.

Weakness:

none

I have found this sub to be most effecient and responsive. The previous person rather dogged the sub but I have to question how he has the crossovers set up and also the bass management in the system. This ksw-15 will rock the house. I find that I have to urn the DB levels down to control it, if not I am afraid I will literally shatter a window a meer 5 feet from it. Does what it supposed too....Rumble and respond.

Strength:

bass you could feel, weaken your knees once a full moon

Weakness:

no bass to fill in the ranges below/under my main/center speakers

I AM EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED! WHERE IS THE AUDIBLE BASS??? will put it up for sale... I was looking for a 15" sub that have a nice design, small footprint to replace my jbl 15" sub, an extremely huge box. The Klipsch 15" is like a 6 string bass guitar where the lowest string (B)rumble the house structure but the other 5 strings are missing. The E string''''''''''''''''s range is most musical (50-70Hz range). I don''''''''''''''''t want to wait to feel air movement once a while during movies, I want the constant audible bass to scare me or to fill in the ramge below/under my main/center speakers, like the Hsu. I have to crank the volume knob full to get the bass. Very dissapointed!
