Strength:

strong hard hitting bass and good price. LFE switch.

Weakness:

none

I recently purchased the JBL PB10 and it does not pop,hum or do any of the crazy things that others have experienced. I have it connected to the Onkyo 575X and it really sounds great. I have not run it full tilt yet because the neighbors have complained twice already. The LFE switch is really a plus on this model. My other speakers are Bose AM5,VCS10 and Bose 100''s in the rear. If you want solid bass in your H/T and even while playing music check this sub out.

Strength:

Price, sound, styling, Ease of use.

Weakness:

Bought this product with some concerns regarding the quality. Several reviewers hve had problems with this unit in the past. Thusfar I have had no problems. No humming, no pops, clicks or other sonic problems. I am using it with a Onkyo 595 reciever and the ability to "tune" the subwoffer output of that unit really makes it easy to integrate a subwoofer into your system. This is my first subwoofer and I hope it will be my last.

Strength:

Great Sound, Nice Punch, Easy Setup, Controls for cross-over freq, LED color change to determine sleep mode

Weakness:

none, but did shake a picture off the wall.

Nice sub for mid to small room. Priced just right. I was leaning towards the PB12, but kept the cash to put on the receiver. At 150 watt output, it is loud enough for my tastes. Works good in both audio and HT. At low volumes, has a slight problem waking up from sleep mode. But once awake, it will rock the house. I could hear the thump from the end of my driveway.

Strength:

Price, performance, size

Weakness:

No physical on/off switch like the PB12

This sub-woofer rocks. The PB12 was just too much and I didn't really need it, but I'm very happy with the PB10. It blends really well with my set up and is perfect for an apartment. Also, I was very satisfied with etronics.com and the $220 price for the PB10 (found using mysimon.com).

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T USE LetsGoDigital.com, I was given the run around big time when I ordered my JBL S-center speaker and wound up canceling my order with them and ordering the S-center from etronics!

For the price, quality and performance the PB10 can't be beat. I know it has an auto stand-by mode, but an on/off switch like the PB12 would be nice.

Strength:

Very good response to LFE and plays nice and loud with no distortion. Has a digital amp and is solidly constructed.

Weakness:

The lights in front of the subwoofer can be bothersome while watching a movie in the dark because you see these two green light on throughout the whole movie. But I guess that isn't really a weakness:)

Like I said, it performs very well and has a lot of power for my needs in a home theater. Sounds are clean and low. Was thinking about getting the PB-12 but I already heard how loud the PB-10 could play at Bestbuy's speakers testing area and I knew that the PB-10 was enough for me. I also like a subwoofer to be a small as possible but produce lound sound and the PB-10 does it! The PB-10 could out perform bigger subwoofers with higher wattage, price, woofer size, and cabinet size.

Strength:

Good build quality, direct LFE input, digital amp, small input, good customer service even when out of warranty

Weakness:

one of two LED's already not working, JBL still does not have great movie/music mix down yet.

I got a phone call one day on my cell from my neighbor. One of my older JBL PSW 1000 subs had gone "mad" and was shaking the house. The amp had shorted out and the sub burning up. Needless to say, almost had a fire. I sent the sub to a repair center and the amp had totaly melted. It was going to be $300.00 to repair. That's what it cost new!
Anyway, it was 4 months out warranty on electronics. I called JBL and they where so concerned that it almost caused a fire, they would not let me fix it, and paid to have it shipped back and sent me the new PB10 for replacement. The sub was 4 months out of warranty! NOT BAD AT ALL. They felt it was unsafe, and did not want that product in my home, even if they fixed it at factory. Just be warned of the quality of new PB10. Yes, they do all HUM. The safe way is to get a switched surge protector such as a Panamax 1000+. That is what I have and I works great thru the delay outlet!

Strength:

Just about everything. It's good looking just like me, deep bass down to 27hz, rivals my old 15" subwoofer with 200 watts. It's very musical and perfect for my gaming needs. My computer likes it very much, that it sometimes faints and tips over from the subs good looks. I have the best computer sound system.

Weakness:

My computer crashed after a couple of faints. I don't blame the sub.

I got this at http://wholesaleproducts.com. it was a very good deal at $199 + $20 shipping. It plays very loud in my small room, I hooked it up to my computer. The sub looks very good, goes low, and pounds hard without losing control.

Strength:

All around performance, low end response

Weakness:

None

Very impressed with this sub. Listened to many subs from Velodyne, Infinity, DCM, Polk Audio, and Yamaha before deciding on this one. For the price, it's the best sub out there. Low end extension is very good with a good deep resonance down to around 27 Hz. Not muddy at all, due to the properly tuned port firing out the back. This could be a slight downfall, though, if the sub is put too close to a wall. Port air noise may result. In this aspect, the Polk Audio sub port would have been better. But could not justify spending an extra $250 for something as mediocre as the shape of the port. Also, one of the best warranties in the business (5 years, just like the rest of the JBL line). Matches up perfectly with my J2080s purchased back in 1993. Again, another top notch product from JBL!
