When I thought about buying a subwoofer I decided to look at no other brands other than cerwin-vega. I had recently bought two e-310's and was very pleased with their preformance. They delver and incredible amount on bass. After using them for a long time I began to get used to the amount of bass that they put out and decided I needed something extra. I saw the lw-12 at a local store and decided to listen to it. When I heard I knew that I had to have it. It puts out a ton of bass. I love it. I compared to the lw-10 which has a ten inch woofer and a 100 watt amp. It hit pretty hard but it didnt compare to the lw-12. I recommend this sub to everyone.

I feel like I needed to post to raise the average back up. Maybe he did buy a defective model. I've been very happy w/ the sub, and it certainly has added a lot of depth to my system. When we watched the first Jurassic Park, my next door neighbors came over, because they had gone outside thinking there was a thunderstorm, but it was us. I'm not bragging, I'm not in it for the shock factor, but that sub really delivers. It's probably not the best "musical" sub, but that is not what I bought it for. I bought it strictly for movies.

Sound improves after an hour or so burn-in. Bass is clean and clear. More than enough for a big-sized room. This is my third sub and I'm very pleased. I can't imagine anything better at this price. Must be auditioned before buying anything else. I've seen these cheaper but then shipping charges put the total back up to where you can just run into Best Buy and take it home for about the same. Sears, too if you can get them to price match. Five stars for value and performance and not just because I layed out the $$$ for it - this really is a good product at a good price.

I went to Best Buy looking for something to hold me over before I can afford an SVS in a few months. But I got more than I bargained for. This baby rocks. For the money, Ive never heard anything better. Try it out.

This sub is awesome. Its ability to get low and shake the room is equal to its ability to punch out bass crisply and cleanly without owerpowering the room. I was watching the bombing scene in Pearl Harbor when it shook a picture off the wall. Great for music and HT. No need to pay more. This will be the last sub you buy.

I am currently building my dream system, but due to a house I am having built I have to take it easy on the $$$s for a while. I never stepped into a Best Buy to look for audio equipment, but based on what I read here at Audio Review I went out and picked up a the LW-12. My friend and I got it home, hooked it up, and put in J-Park III. We were laughing out loud at how good this sub sounded. The base is tight and powerful. It would be nice to have a remote as the sub needs to be adjusted depending on what source your listening to, but for the price who’s complaining. I have heard many subs, many better than this one, but for the money I have to give this sub five stars. This sub cost a tenth of anything else in my system. If you are younger/ and or are trying to put a good economical system together, this is the sub for you. Because life with a subwoofer is better than life without one.

This subwoofer is a great value. I have it hooked up in a Stereo system with four JBL control 5's.
The Vega blends in admirably - good accurate bass on music and powerful transient response on DVDs.
Not at all over-wroght as some might expect from Vega. It is powerful but well controlled.

What a great drone!
