I'm really not into flaming anyone but I can't help to notice that there was someone here that calls him/herself an "Audiophile" yet bash this product as if he/she is in the cooking network. Perhaps some educated detail about this speaker could give him/her some credibility.
The Titans are good speakers. They are cheap, but they sound fine. The frequency responses are flat and the stereo imaging is excellent. Midrange is a little bit unclear though. I had a pair for five years and they still sound perfectly well in my Audio/HT system. I'll give them five stars.

I use these as surrounds for a 5.1 channel setup. They are quite amazing speakers for the price. I'm even thinking about downgrading my 9's to these to save a 'wee bit. Probably not, though. Very good for the price, tight, and accurate. Titan's 9's, and CC-350 blend seamlessly with the Hsu 10V. Great budget system for the $1500 I paid. Planning on getting a pair for the bedroom. I'd bet everything would sound better as soon as I upgrade my Sony 925, but thats another review. I highly recommend these speakers.

I've had a pair of Titan v.2 for about 6 months, and to summarize my experience with them: excellent price/performance ratio, good for budget HT system, ok for music. I found the lower-mid range to be muddy (I had them ~14 inches from the back wall) and the higher range is also rather unclear (which makes female vocal less enjoyable). Also keep in mind these speakers can take in continuous input of 60watts, and the louder you play them, the less defined tones you get. I've recently replaced them with Mini-Monitors, which cost a bit less than doubled the price of Titan, but to me it's worth every cent of it. I give Titan 4 stars for price/performance ratio.

Please listen to these speakers and judge for yourself. After bringing home (and returning) a variety of speakers that cost a few dollars less than the Titans, I now fully appreciated the term "you get what you pay for". As for a bookshelf speaker, I can't envision doing much better! Many bookshelfs have a 5" woofer which I believe would never produce the kind of really nice bass these speakers can put out (with a 6" woofer, is surprisingly deep and involving]. Go ahead and put on some Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Mozart, Yankovick. The highs and midranges are 'there' with very acceptable detail. These speakers will do just fine as your only pair of speakers. They do have a 'rough' edge though, a less refined sound than something like the Tannoy M1s, but this is certainly a matter of personal taste: Do you pay attention to the details of what you are listening to....or; do you just sit back and let the music affect your psyche. These are best suited for the latter type "listener". I do agree that placement is paramount with these and that one needs to zero in on the right balance of treble and bass control...so that you can then leave 'em alone, and simply enjoy. Unless you're a habitual speaker shopper, you can feel confident that these will service your auditory needs for years to come. At about $200/pr. buy 'em. Five stars!!!

The midrange and highs are uncoloured. They don't have much bass but I didn't expect much. I currently use them as my surrounds in a Dolby Digital setup. They are also very nice with my Monitor 7's when I run all four speakers in A/B mode with music in stereo - room saturating sound. I find that these little speakers do almost as well in the mids and highs as CDN$1000+ speakers, and are as good there as my Monitor 7's. The latter speakers have more bass, but the bass isn't particularly tight. These Titans are an awesome deal for the price.

Bought them used for $150. Used them for both Home theater and music. Then I bought a new PDR-10 Powered-sub then I know I'm in love. I love them and my wife loves them. Now, my wife watch more movies than I do. I would say thesespeakers are a hell a bang for the buck. I highly recommend it.

Got these Titan v.2s as fronts for my entry level system. Compared them to other brands (including Bose and Infinity) at a local high-end audio store. I was amazed at how full the sound was compared to others close to its $200 price tag. The bass is very good for such a small speaker and the highs are also impressive. I love the back-firing vent.

Loved these speakers. Bought them used for $100 a pair and used them for HT. Bass extension is unbelievably low, which is excellet for movies with a lot of rumble. I'll get a powered subwoofer pretty soon, most probably the Paradigm PDR-10. Good job Paradigm

These are terrific speakers, and an amazing value. There is no question in my mind that Paradigmis #1 for price/performance ratio. A few people have noted a slightly muddy midrange. I think
that is an accurate assesment. If this is a problem for you, audition the Paradigm Atom. The Atom
gives you a little less bass, but the midrange is smoother and clearer. I prefered the Atom, and
purchased it. I'm sure I would have been happy with the Titan as well. I listened to a lot of speakers
in this price range (NHT, PSB, B&W, Bose) and a few speakers in a higher price category as well. Both
the Titans & the Atoms outperformed all of them. Both speakers use a metal-ceramic-composite
tweeter that delivers far clearer highs than the plastic tweeters found on most speakers in this price
range

Strength:

Good value, good sound well built

Weakness:

Gets confused at low end when driven hard

IMHO the Titans are a very decent speaker considering first cost then performance. I've had the Titans for over a year now. Originally used for rears in my HT system. The sound is good considering the size and price. But as my ear became more educated I have been able to hear the mid-bass hump others have talked about. But its not a critical situation and only becomes real noticeable at high volumes. Although I still have the Titans I have upgraded to the Mini Monitors which are super and really made my HT system sing out. But I digress, I have not been disappointed with the Titans and have no problem recommending them to anyone looking for a good bookshelf speaker. In addition, the Titans as with all

Current HT system:
------------------
Denon 3200 A/V receiver
Paradigm Monitor 7s up front
Paradigm CC350 center channel
Paradigm Mini Monitors in rear
Sony 530D DVD player
Technics cd player(came with a rack sys...will be upgraded)
--------------------
I gave the Titans along with the rest of the Technics rack system minus the cd player to my son for his bedroom...he loves the Titans. Hmmmmm.....should let him do a review..."they say out of the mouths of babes".....
