Strength:

get loud without loosing detail, price nice bass not to boomy at all, extremelly nice looking, very well made too

Weakness:

non really just takes a while to break in.

I'm 15 And like it loud. Before I met the paradims I thought big was louder and better. I looked at some JBL's ND310 and cerwin vega , both lacked simpel details, and were very big and bulky. My dad owns a pair of paradims and are very nice. So my dad and I too k a trip up to canada to listen to them. When I first say them the looke of the speaker was very unique. The sond was nice too. The speakers were smaller then the vegas and JBL, but get as loud and have 5 times more detail, and better looks.

Strength:

True reproduction of source material, crisp clean highs, smooth mids and solid, tight bass.

Weakness:

none

Because I listen to so many different types of music from rock to classical, I needed a speaker that could handle all of them and sound good. I found that speaker in the Monitor 9's. You can play them loud with any type of rock music and feel like you are at a concert. The imaging and definition is awesome. With classical music the speaker needs to handle a wider frequency responce and greater dymamic range and the Monitor 9's do it with no effort. They never sound like they are straining. The mid range is what really impresses me because I think this is were speakers have the most problems. The Monitor 9's are smooth without giving up presence in the mids. This is really noticable with violins in classical music which can really grate on the ears if the mid range is not produced properly. Also piano sonatas really test a speakers mid range capabilities and the Monitor 9's reproduce the piano faithfully. I have my Monitor 9's hooked up to a Harmon Kardon AVR30 and the combination produces unbelievable sound. I would recommend the Monitor 9's to anyone without reservation no matter what type of music they listen to. You should of course hook them to an amp or reciever with lots of head room that sends out a clean, uncolored signal for the best results.

crystal clear highs, good bass, power handling

I have owned these speakers for about 2 years, and have no complaints. For the price, I feel you can't find a better speaker. The same applies for the CC-350 center-channel and Mini-Monitors I used for surround. These were also a great way for a poor college student to have great sound. I just upgraded to Paradigm's Studio-series of speakers (Studio 100's for mains, Studio 60's for surround, and Studio-CC for center), and couldn't bear to get rid of the Monitors, so I sold the set to my parents, replacing their Optimus speakers. Now we have 2 great sounding rooms in the house. I highly recommend any of the Paradigm Monitor speakers (or studio's for that matter).

Strength:

great highs,power handling

Weakness:

none yet

great speaker can handle anything I through at it.High
are clean and quite clear.Bass can be great at loud volume.
In this price range you can't ask more from a speaker.I just
had monitor 5's and this is a real step up,the volume level
that the 9's can go to are unreal.A real nice step up from mon 5's's.

Strength:

Great for home theatre and music. Best sound for under 750.

Weakness:

none

These speakers absolutely kick the pants off any other in this price range. These speakers are noticeably better if they are bi-wired with a high current reciever. They get real loud without losing any detail.

I strongly suggest these speakers.

I bought these specifically for the fronts of my new surround-sound setup. I also have the cc-350 and the Mini-Monitors for the surrounds. Like almost everyone else here I think the Monitor 9's are a great value, and they are perfect for my setup, in which I can't use a subwoofer because I live in an apartment. I know I'm missing some bass under 35Hz or so, but what they're giving me makes up for it. As others have said, dialogue is very clear (in all the Monitor series) and the bass is definitely not boomy (unless the source material intended it that way). They pretty much let you hear everything that is on the the DVD, except for the really, really low bass (like when the buffaloes get shot in Dances with Wolves). I recently bought the Matrix, and it sounds fantastic on these speakers.

These are incrediable speakers. I listen to a huge variety of music and they sound great playing everything from techno to jazz. My Monitor 9's sound great even on my cheap Aiwa reciever. These are great speakers that a teenager like me can afford and enjoy.

Strength:

Very clean tight bass. Treble is clear and bright, and sometimes painful if turned up loud enough. It has bi-wiring capabilities. Comes in different finishes than just plain black.

Weakness:

-----I can't think of any right now...

I think these speakers are way cool. These speakers completely bury my Phantoms. I love the twin 8" woofers. I often take the grill off, crank the volume, and watch the woofers dance to the beat. These bad boys have better bass reproduction than my subwoofer. I can't even hear a difference when the sub is on. Even without the sub, the whole hous shakes. I have them hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V595, and this thing can push them to ear-drum shattering levels. The treble is what hurts. The bass punches you in the chest. I am saving my money for a Paradigm PW-2500 subwoofer. I am quite anxious to hear it. Until, I can afford more amps, and bigger speakers, nothing I have can compare to my Monitor 9's!! I also got them for a bargain price of $650 which made me very happy indeed.
