While shopping around for a good set of fronts I found the Polk Audios to be lacking "presence" and bass. The Cerwin Vegas didnt quite have the clarity I wanted.

I auditioned a set of Paradigm Monitor 9 v2's, and they "hit the nail on the head" . Excellent highs, detailed midrange and a solid tight bass response, just what I was looking for.

I auditioned several systems in this price range, but could not even come close to the clean/clear sound of the Monitor 9's. By far a better buy for your money.

Anyone looking for new speakers should take their time and compare. After all, your going to be listening to your new speakers for several years to come. I went back and forth to several audio stores with my recordings to listen to the sound quality of the speakers recommended by the sales people. After several auditions, and days, I found the Monitor 9's v2 to be a great addition to my home theater system.

These speakers sounded just as good, if not better, at home set up in my living room then they did at the dealer sound room.

Very powerfull, Dynamic, Tigh punchy bass, very good highs, good midrange, beautifull look, superb soundstage, i like the grills! :)

Midrange can be poor if loudseakers are not well placed, VERY placement dependent

Well, these loudspeakers are completely incredible! I looked for something which would not cost me an arm and a leg and which have very good sounding. And as you certainly know, i'm very very demanding in sound. I listened to a pair of Paradigm Monitor 3 and many others bookshelf speakers. I choose Monitor 3 because of their beautifull warm sounding and their tigh, well defined bass. I know, B&W have better mid-range but who want to spend 500$ more for a little bit improvement? I'm not a sound freak at this point! I want the best speakers for the value. And yes, try to search for other speakers which have better value than Paradigm Monitor series. You'll spend many time to find... and surely, you will not find any better for the price.

After a couple of days, i wanted more power and more bass. So i decided to look for Monitor 7 of 9. I listened to both of them. Monitor9 to my ears push a fuller bass and also, they can punch more your stomac. So i choose them. Very good choice. I'm not disapointed and i think that i will keep them for some years. If you compare Monitor 9 to monitor 3, it's very obvious... it's not comparable! Just one thing... Monitor9 are very placement dependent. So sometimes, some will say that they are too boomy or some will say they lack of good midrange. Place them very well. Spend your time. And you will get astonishing results.

Finaly, they are not the best speakers. But they are certainly incredible for the price. Maybe, a little tuning on the midrange section and we can rate them 4.5... :)

looked for a new set of speakers for a 6 weeks and listened to
many and was not impressed {also went to four different hifi audio/video stores with 50 different salesman or it seemed with there you must spend 2000.00 or more bit}
with all the speakers in my price range these sounded great there are better speakers but not at this price range with a little break in time they are clear with great highs and midrange bass good for most music but with todays subwoofers who cares
