Strength:

The two seconds of thinking you are the man for the sweet deal you got.

Weakness:

The rest of your life to know that these stupid things exhist and having to eventually throw them away.

Not only was I duped by the same scam as all the others, I entered my household triumphantly declaring the sweet deal I had stumbled upon. Oh what a smooth savy guy I was, picking up these speakers for practically peanuts. Needless to say, I was mistaken. I should have known when I saw the blatant tan line from his sunglasses that he had been out all day rounding us up. Well, I must admit these guys were polished. The had all the bells and whistels they needed to convince otherwise intelegent people that this type of deal exhists. Kudos to them. The only thing we can do is hope that they die in a fiery crash while sweeping the country with what was the easiest money in the world. If you two scum bags are reading this, I am glad you have my money because you will need it to pay for the prostitutes you will require since you are two ugly ass mother fu@kers.

Strength:

Cheap and sound great for the money

Weakness:

It''s a little bit shaddy buying speakers from a white van in a parking lot, or maybe it is just me.

I don''t understand what all this talk about people getting ripped off is about. Listen, if you got these speakers for anything under $500, then you got a steal. If you go in a store today, you cannot find speakers with remotely the same quality for less than 800. Stop complaining about getting ripped off, it''s a great system, everyone should buy a pair. Especially if you only have to pay those guys in the white van $200 plus an extra $20 for a case of beer. I think the people that are reviewing them bad, are the people that payed over a couple hundred and really got ripped off

i just don''t know. i knew i was being taken and i let it happen. that''s what kills me. i haven''t hooked mine up yet but when the the kid had the speaker hooked up in the van the sound was definitely coming through. (DAMN! AND I KNEW IT WAS WEIRD THAT THEY HAD A SPEAKER HOOK UP AND AN ADVERTISEMENT) i could feel the air being pushed by the bass though and he had it up pretty loud with no distortion. BUT HE DID TRY TO TAKE BACK THE ONES HE PUT IN MY CAR! i think that''s the key. the two he tested, he boxed up and put in the car, then he says he wants to give me two others that are sealed. i said no (i didn''t want to get stuck with a box of rocks) it''s POSSIBLE that some of the reviewers out there that are saying they''re good got the test speakers. thinking about it now, that''s exactly what i would do. hook up good speakers, put them in the car and then pull a fast one and take them out again. perhaps this is wishful thinking on my part. i''ll hook them up tomorrow and find out. does anyone know if there is a training school for these guys? because i got two young white guys that were definitely from long island as they knew a few things that out-of-town con men wouldn''t know. this could be bad for them, because when i see them again...

Strength:

They were free

Weakness:

Sorry i took them

These speakers were added to my existing home system (jvc) which is never turned up more than half. After 3 months they were useless, shot, gone, done, blown to pieces. These were the worst speakers i had ever laid eyes on. Back in high school i bought a stereo system from radio shack and the speakers would out perform these anyday, sorry i got rid of that system could of used the speaeks today.

Strength:

Pounding Bass, crisp highs

Weakness:

my wife got pissed...

So I was approached by two hucksters in a blue van on a saturday morning, at first I thought it seemed a bit sketchy but I figured, what the hell, I'll check them out...They showed me the brochure and the sheet and told me the same story as everyone else, and I figured that these things do happen so I might as well get in on a good deal (we just finished our basement with a 52 inch TV and new chesterfield and needed a new set of speaks to finish the room) They guys wanted $1000 for the pair (CDN, said they went for $1500 each) I got them down to $700 but one of the guys broke a vase in the foyer carrying the things in so I gave em $680.
I was pretty impressed overall with the way they sounded (they're the MTS 2210 Towers) and have had no problem so far .They beat the hell out of the JBL's I checked out at Bay Bloor Radio and sure beat the price too! So overall, I'm totally happy with the set I got.

Strength:

1-excellent power handling: I run 300 watts of pure JBL solid state power to each speaker. the tone is a lot of headroom and great dynamics. remember these speakers are rated at 150 watts each. I haven't blown them yet.
frequency response: nice fat bottom end, smooth non-piercing mids, and accurate highs.
+ or - 2db controls for highs, mids and lows: these work very well, although I run the speakers flat.
Appearance: They are dressed in a beautiful all black-modern finish.

Weakness:

not applicable because I bought them off two guys out of a fan for 220 dollars and they sound better than most speakers 4x their price.

These speakers are so accurate I hear distortions on old recordings that other speakers don't reveal. I feel like I got a great deal. Of course, I was skeptical at first because of how I purchased them, but I'm actually very happy with their performance. MTS is actually a real company from New York. Their customer support is good and responsive. The Bottom line: for 200 bucks plus 20 bucks for beer, cigs and a porn mag, these speakers are the best deal around. Do yourself a favor and look for those two young tattoo'd guys in a white van with no windows, pull them over and buy a pair of 2012s.

Strength:

sound good for about a week

Weakness:

they blow out and you're screwed

Yep, I got suckered just like lots of other people here. Two nice con-artist kids in the now-famous white van talked me into these when I was on my lunch break from work in Sherman Oaks, CA. They were smooth talkers and I fell for it hook line and sinker. I learned a lesson though and perhaps my loss will save everyone reading this from a similar fate. The speakers sounded pretty good for a week or two but then they blew one by one and I wasn't abusing them. Now they're worthless except that they act as shelves to elevate my 15 year old Bose speakers which aren't any picnic either but still kick ass over the MTSs.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM EVERYONE. DON'T BUY SPEAKERS FROM GUYS ON THE STREET NO MATTER HOW SWEET THE DEAL SOUNDS.

Strength:

Good looks, impressive literature

Weakness:

Sad that I purchased a product from a bunch of kids that were scamming black-market buyers.

When approached by the two guys in the white van, they asked for $500 for each speaker, showing me the catalogue and literature which indicated a retail price of $865. It was quite convincing.

I offered them $50 for one of them (I had no interest in speaker or audio systems) and after some heavy negotiating, agreed to $150 for a set of speaker systems. Then when I went to take out the money once the product was already in my car, I only had $120 so I said "take it or leave it".

After seeing all of your comments, I was a bit disheartened that I was involved in a scam. However, my purpose was either to give the speakers as a birthday gift, or to resell them and turn a quick profit. I havn't decided which I'll do.

Sadly, people selling black-market items shouldn't scam black-market buyers. It just isn't right.

Cheap, look good

Weakness:

Blown speaker in 2 hrs!

A friend picked these up for me, figuring I could use new speakers (true...). I hooked 'em up, and after two hours of medium punishment, one blew--deconed, actually. I was pissed, to be sure, but... The funny thing is that the other one is still withstanding daily heavy punishment as sound reinforcement, and actually sounds alright--better than my friend's JBLs, in fact. I don't understand this at all, but there it is.
