Strength:

Imaging

Weakness:

Deep Bass

I've has these FrX7s for over 2 years now and I'm not at all upset at purchasing them over the BA 950. 2 channel stereo imaging is 1st rate. Bass is good for a speaker of this size. A sub is needed for earth moving bass in movies, though.....but you already know that.

Highs and mid range are strong. They really do not do anything poorly. The speakers are very heavy and well built.

You can probably get these cheap at Tweeter, they are probably going to clear them out for a new model from Mirage.

Strength:

Excellent midrange and highs adequate bass

Weakness:

Paid $499.00 this speaker has absolutely no weeknesses when compared to speakers in the $1000.00 and below price range.

These are the absolute best speakers I have ever heard that are within my budget. They sound like $2000.00 speakers. Incredible midrange and overall sound.
For audio use they are excellent. For home theater they work very well with my Klipsch SW12 subwoofer.

First of all,i'm very happy about my purchase.I have a receiver Onkyo 656 and a Toshiba DVD 2108.First,my priority was for the sound of a home theater, also for stereo music. These speakers look very well but i like them most without the front panel. The midrange is warm. The tweeter is the best i ever heard.the definition of the details is fine.Low frequency now:i was very surprise by the bass deep of these floorstanding two five inch. So,i'm satisfied by these speakers in this price range.I negociate these speaker for 825 cnd tx in.I'm giving five star for these price.

Mirage has set a new standard of performance and quality with these FRx-SEVEN's.When I paired them up with my Sonic Frontiers Integrated 1, it was like a marriage made in heaven. I didn't know which one to be most impressed with. The
low end on these little puppies is amazing and the highs never bitter. They image very well without a lot of fine tuning. These speakers simply disappear, and they will disappear from the Mirage warehouse when more people discover this
incredible deal.

Auditioned several loudspeakers (Paradigm Reference 80 & 100, Klipsch, Polk, NHT 2.5I/Super Two)before listening to the Mirage FRx7. Saved the best for last, or at least that's how it worked out. Cannot say enough about the total sound of this product. Dealer insists they will improve with use. Hard to believe since they sound incredible now. Future upgrade of MITerminator4 Bi wire coming this weekend. Run, don't walk, to the Mirage dealer near you.

An excellent speaker, well worth the money ($670/pr at Tweeter). A more pleasing sound than the the Boston Acoustics VR950s. The soundstage is excellent. Only one disapointment, one the the speakers had a deffective tweeter that "fuzzed" certain notes, quickly exchanged at Tweeter. I also picked the the FRX-C center channel speaker, and have to say I HATED it. The timbre did not blend at all the the L/R as advertised and dialog sounded hollow. I replaced it promptly with an OM-C3 that sounds much more pleasing, although a tad sharper than the FRX7. I would like to give 4.5 stars (nothing in this price range is perfect) but the deffective tweeter lowered it to four.

Got these at that crazy Soundsaround sale on Saturday for only $388/pr CAD!! Anyhow, these speakers are excellent!! This is going to sound cliched, but they have a very very nice expansive soundstage that literally jumps at you. The bass is surprising punchy and tight, and the midrange and treble are simply awesome. For the price, these couldn't be beat. As well, I purchased the FRXC. The person below must not have known how to place a center speaker, as to my ear the sound is exactly the same. Five stars for sure! Mirage, I love you!

Picked up the Mirage Fx7's last weekend as the first mid-high end component of my new home theater setup. Very impressive. My previous experience has been with PSB midrange speakers and these are cleaner, more responsive and have a deeper low end response. I've read how others were amazed at the low end comming out of two 5.5 inch drivers and I was astounded the first time I unwrapped them myself. A definite choice for clean, transparent mids, full and punchy base and decent highs.
Con: the ultra highs are a little soft and not as crips as I would like. I find myself liking for a little more edge in the ultra highs. Also, the lows loose a little range at lower volumes (the unfortunate dilema of apartment dwellers like myself)

Definite recommendation, brought my old amp back to life

Strength:

The tight bass combined with the clear highs.

Weakness:

-

These speakers are great. Just got them yesterday and spent the evening listening to different kinds of music. The speakers perform great and has the warm and low but still tight bass. This combined with clear and sensitive highs still not lacking anything in the middlerange makes this speaker a winner in the pricecategory.

Before buying the Frx seven, i listened to a lot of speakers but none felt right. I listened to cantons, dalis, b&w + many mores. Then finally i listened to the Frx seven and the first thought that came up was "i got to get me a pair of these!".

I also use a Nad receiver and a pioneer cd and this combination works great. The nad receiver is very powerful and makes the bass control even better.

I also like the finish and build quality of these speakers and the fact that they include spikes is great.

My advice: Buy them now!

Strength:

Great soudstage and clarity in bass and mid-range.

Weakness:

Tinny high end.

I bought my FRX7's about 7 months ago, after auditioning a pair then on sale for $500 (reduced from $700). For the price, I thought they did a very good job with low to mid-range, and were certainly more than adequate in terms of their treble response. AFter listening to these at home through my own system (Adcom 5400 power amp, B & K PT3 pre-amp), however, I discovered that especially on jazz recordings the sound at the high end could be pronouncedly tinny. High hat, cymbals, etc. repeatedly sounded thin, with no punch. I tried everything, from bi-wiring to running the speakers directly through the pre-amp, instead of through my Velodyne sub. But the end result was always the same: great clarity and purity of sound on horns, guitar, vocals, etc.; a much thinner sound on cymbals, etc. After reading many of the reviews posted on this page, I seem to be one of the few who has had this experience. In short, I'd say that while the Mirage makes a great overall speaker, it's deficiencies in the high end (subtle but significant) have forced me to start looking elsehwere for the right speakers for my set-up.
