UN@%$#ING BELIEVABLE

Weakness:

none some people complained about the stands but hey i paid to much for these to be throwing them around I sat them on the floor and had no plomblems, and some people complained about the bass they have good clean bass, but hey thats why the make the powered subwoofer.

I just got these and I have to say these babies ROCK!!! I also bought the RC-3 CENTER RS-3 SURROUNDS and the RSW-10 these are the greatest speakers I have ever heard a little pricey but after hearing them the price was well worth it. I will never buy another brand of speaker. when I want to add to my stero next is 7.1 only one word KLIPSCH

Strength:

Awesome speaker for the money. Sound quality is beyond anything I've heard for under $1000.

Weakness:

Cheap grills.

I just bought these speakers about 2 months ago. I shopped around a lot, read reviews on this site like a madman, and finally decided on these after actually hearing them in person. For the price, the power of these things is unmatched in my opinion. Great highs, mids, and just enough bass. Sometimes I wish there was just a tad bit more bass, but they still bump if thats what you're looking for. I currently have them set up in my 12x11 dorm room. Lets just say that everyone on my floor can tell what I'm listening to if I want them to..hehe. If you're looking for an all around good pair of speakers for the money, you won't be dissapointed by choosing Klipsch RF3II.

Strength:

Deep, Tight and Contolled Bass Very Detailed Midrange Very natural and transparent Highs High quality crossover and internal cables (Monster Z-series) Very loud even with a 2x50 watt AB class amp! note the 98db SPLWm Great Stereo Image High build quality Great value for the money (even 1400Euro here in Greece) Great for music and movies too They sound great even in low volumes

Weakness:

Grills are on the cheap side but who cares? The speakers are really beatiful and stylish without them! The bass response of RF-3IIs isn't that extended as I would like but that's why subwoofers are for!

Although I haven't bought them yet (I will for sure later or soon) I was really impressed by their sound. Many people say that Klipsch horns are harsh or sound too bright, but I think they haven't ever heard real high frequency sounds just like the Tractrix horns ones! When I visited my dealer I threw in one track from Bartok's cd,one from Vivaldi's,one from Verdi and finally one with psychedelic music. As I said later the sound coming out from the RF-3IIs was amazingly impressive that can't be described with words: First of all the Violins and the human voices in the Vivaldi and Verdi cds respectively sounded really naturally, clearly and transparently that you felt the sound wasn't coming from speakers. In Bartok's Complicated music the speakers sounded fairly great and without distortion at any volumes. Finally when The Shiva Psychadelic cd was inserted, the deep and well controlled bass almost made my go on tears. My new system will be consisted of KLIPSCH RF-3II maybe Energy Veritas 12A subwoofer ROTEL RB-1070 Pre-Amp ROTEL RC-1070 Amp 2x135 SONY CD-player -I hope I had more money to buy more- As about Klipsch RF-3II and RF-5 comparison, I think you don't have to spend that much money to buy the bigger model as Reference models don't have extended Bass Response as other speakers do. So even if you had the money to buy a pair of RF-7s, a sub would be needed. Either way these speakers sound amazingly and they won't disappoint you. Note: Greek Hifi magazine Hitech gives it a 8.1/10 for sound quality and 10/10 in comparison with speakers in it's price range (800-1400Euro). The first note (8.1) indicates that it's one of the best speakers even when compaired with perfect ones like Magnepan 20.1(21.000Euro) or Nautilus 801 or Tannoy Dimension D12 or Klipsch RF-7 that take 9.9, 9.4 ,9.5, 9.0 respectively! It is rated as an 1400 Euro speaker :p

Strength:

Very efficient.Good price for the sound you get.

Weakness:

The grills are a little on the cheap side but who cares.THEY PERFORM!!

After several years I decided it was time to upgrade my km4's to the new RF311's.After countless weekend's of listening to all the brands that are now available.I still went back to Klipsch. For the price there awesome. And standing beside a pair of $4000 Polk Audio. They were like a dream. The mids were alot better than the Polk's and the bass was tighter.Although they were a little brighter than the polks they were louder than the polks at lower volume.

wonderful sound for a speaker that retails for under 700 hundred a pair !

Weakness:

not availble in real wood

I am very pleased with these speakers ! and would highly recommend buying a pair . I really lucked out finding a pair at a pawn shop for 390 bucks , they are brand spanking new ! And sound great ! At first I thought they sounded a little bright in the high end , but after I broke them in they sounded sweet ! Very good mids and the bass is just fine .

Strength:

Nice smooth audio spectrum response to the ear. No glaring problens in lows , midranges, or highs Excellent value for the money I paid.

Weakness:

Bass needs adjusting to plesse one's ear. A bit more mid-range 'presence' would be pleasing. These speakers do not sound as good when played at low volume. recommend at least moderate sound. Both shipping cartons arrived with problems (damage) but contents were fine.

After previewing various spakers at audio shops for well over a month i settled on the Klipsch RF3-II's from www, acoustiv sound design.com at $579. plus shipping. This amounted to a savings of nearly $200. over the best price I could get quoted in my local area. My budget precluded srending more than $1,200 for new stereo speakers (I am a retiree) so I wanted something tht played well and did not break the bank. Overall. the 3's had one of the smoothest response styles ranging from deep bass through the mid-tones to the highs. For my listening evaluations i used my own discs that I had played regularly. I should mention tht all my evaluation is based on classical music and opera--no other type of music was auditioned. The speakers I received sounded exactly like those I auditioned in several local shops. Overall evaluation: An excellent speaker for the price. Lows--some roughness at very low bass at volume such as from an organ (the 5's were a tiny bit better here). Mid range--Quite good. One might want a bit more "presence" but that is up to the listener. Highs; Smooth without being overly bright. I found, as a common problem, tht many speakers i heard have very bright highs, but also "sizzled" (ssss or zzzz sounds that did not belong there) and were especially disruptive when listening to opera. Dynamic response: quite good. From very quiet to very loud comes through clearly without distortion. I used the last movement of Mahler's 2nd symphony as my dynamic response test. Overall, you can spend more money and still get speakers that do not sound as good through the entire audio range. I would recommend the 3's over the 5's which seem to use the same sound producing elements, but based only on price

Strength:

Very pleasing sound. Accurate bass and crisp highs. Very efficient. Sounds great even at very low volume. Very attractive (I don't mind the grills!) The company that produced them is outstanding and has been for quite some time... Run, don't walk...buy these babies before Klipsch decides they really could sell these for double the price!

Weakness:

None

I am a long time Klipsch owner and fan, having purchased a pair of Forte II's in '92. Since then, I have purchased additional Klipsch products and have always been completely satisfied. So when I wanted to add a set of magnetically shielded mains for my new HDTV, I knew which company to buy from. I hooked up the RF-3II's alongside my faithful Forte II's to compare the sound and I must say the RF's matched the Fortes very nicely. In fact, the RF's produced fuller bass that was actually more true to life sounding. I believe they sounded a bit brighter than the Fortes, which can be good or bad depending. I used to like a lot of treble in my younger days, but prefer warmer sounds now. These speakers did not dissatisfy in any way. They are wonderful to look at, especially the copper woofers. (I am trying to convince my wife that I really don't need to use the grills!) The sound is typical Klipsch - clear, crisp, accurate, and as comfortable as a speaker can be. They have a small footprint and can be bi-wired. I don't know what else a speaker any where close to this price range could do better.

Strength:

Very good sound stage. Good sound reproduction. All in all, a very good value!

Weakness:

Cheap grills!

I just purchased these babies about a week ago, and WOW! I am impressed. I listened to everything under the sun, before I found what I had been listening for. They are a bit bright, but every Klipsch product I've every owned has been to an extent. Anyhow, I'm no audiophile, but I know I like the sound of these better than an thing I heard for under $1000. They sound better than the Klipsch Cornwalls they are replacing and take up about 1/4th the space. I am also pleased with the efficency they have. The small McIntosh speakers I listened to first would require more power than my system delivers, and they're $2000 bookshelf speakers!!!!! I know they say you get what you pay for, but I couldn't hear the difference. I have paired my RF-3ii's with a SW-12 sub, and Quintet center and rear speakers. They sound great for a budget system. I however, listen to 2 channel music more than anything else, and the RF-3ii's are a best buy in my opinion. If you have $600 to spend on a pair of speakers that could have easily been priced $1500, BUY THESE!!!!!!!!

Strength:

very efficient, great bass, copper colored woofers look awesome, dynamic range (vocals are amazing) and the list goes on

Weakness:

grills could have better look

I'm not sure I can say more than what's already been said. These speakers are awesome. Sure, you can buy better but not at this price and probably not at twice the price. I just wish my budget allowed me to buy the RF-7's instead. Oh well!!! I bought these at www.acousticsounddesign.com and although it took about a month and a half to get them (thanks to UPS damaging 2 pairs and losing another) when they finally did arrive they were brand spanking new and sound like a dream. I'm so glad I didn't give in and buy these at a retailer. I have these teamed with a Denon AVR-3802 and they can take all it can give. Now I am off to buy the rest of the Reference Series.
