Weakness:

More bass maybe

I got them after reading reviews on this site and I can say I am not disappointed in my choice even though they sounded very harsh in the beginning. I think that most of the people were right saying they need to be broken down before you can enjoy them. In addition I found out that manufacturer recommendation do help he, he, he. I repositioned my speakers to stay 3- 4 feet off surrounding walls and sound improved considerably. However, these speakers do need a sub for good HT experience. I got Klipsch 12” for that but quickly found out that 12” is a bit too much, at list for my room which is 21x15. I am not even using 30% of sub’s power to get a balanced bass. These speakers are unforgiving when it comes to bed recordings. They will expose them right away but when recording is good you will enjoy it!!!! I think that these speaker will give its very best if given enough space to push the air around….

Strength:

Imaging, Detail, efficiency, dynamics, and transparency(sp?)

Weakness:

None, if you've got a good sub

I'll keep this short and sweet. I work for an authorized dealer, which is why I got them so cheap. But I get "accommodations" from all the vendors we carry, and still chose theese speakers. They are definately the BEST value for the money of any of the speakers I sell. We carry some pretty nice speakers too. Such as Martin Logan, Vienna Acoustis, Sonus Faber, and Mirage. And although they are not the best speaker we carry, they stand out as one of the best "sub-1500$" speakers I have ever heard. I have not recieved them yet, but I think I am qualified to write this review, since there is not a day that goes by that I don't listen to them. I try to put them through various tests with different material as often as possible, and have been quite pleased thus far. All I will say is that anyone that is concidering theese speakers needs to go to a local dealer and listen for yourself. Bring some of your own music and you will not be dissapointed. If they are a good company, they will have at least a 30 day "no-questions-asked" return policy. And after all, what better place to audition speakers than your own enviornment? I will finish this post by saying that Mr. Klipsch was not inducted into the Audio Hall Of Fame without good reason. Those who own theese speakers know exactly what I'm talking about. I give them a 6 star rating for value. And I didn't even plug my Co. ;-P

Strength:

Crisp, clear, clean and effortless.

Weakness:

They are pretty big to move around-not that you would, but it is prohibitive at close to 60 lbs each. I still may consider getting a sub, just for a fuller sound.

They are as good as advertised. Nothing in the price range is remotly close to these. I took the time, did the research, read everyones reviews, and listened. The RF3 2's are the best bang for the buck out there. As mentioned elsewhere, it does take about 40 hours before the bass shows up, and then they start to feel a little better.

Strength:

Clear and crisp highs, good bass. Music comes through as recorded.

Weakness:

very directional... i think this increases echo problems I have with my room layout.

These speakers are great. I have a 9x20 room and these work well. They are very crisp, and with good equipment (i have a harmon/kardon receiver and a sony sacd/dvd player), they sound beautiful. Vocals are especially crisp, and there is also plenty of bass. They are very directional, though, and where you are sitting changes the sound a little. I use them for both music and home theater, and they sound wonderful. I like quality in my sound, and I picked these speakers as a nice medium between the cheap stuff at Best Buy and high-end speakers. I am going to get the other Klipsch speakers in this series from www.acousticsounddesign.com, a site with the best price I could find that also covers the manufacturer's warranty.

Strength:

Acurate reproduction without distorsion or interference of any kind. I also use monster cables.

Weakness:

Are offered only in black finish.

I was impressed by the tone range and acuracy of these speakers. whether I feed them with a low or high signal, the reproduction accuracy is just outstanding ! The tractrix horn does a great job on reproducing accurately mid-high frequencies while the two cones just cover everything under 10K Hz.

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing. The more I read user and journalistic reviews, the more I knew I wanted the Klipsch References series speakers. My system consists of 2 RF-3 IIs, 1 RC-3 II, 2 RS-3 IIs and the sub : RSW-10. Klipsch's newer subs make all the difference, as I realized after listening. All the reviews were true. The bass is deep, rich, and wonderfully powerful. Turning the bass up only half-power will literally cause the floor to rumble. You will FEEL the power of the bass. I coupled the speakers with a Denon AVR-3802 receiver. After a short while listening, it's easy to hear why the Denon name is so appreciated in the electronics industry. I initially purchased these speakers for movies-I prefer the DTS-encoded movies. Movies such as Saving Private Ryan (Normandy landing) and Pearl Harbor (attack sequences) come to life like never before. After hearing these speakers at home, there is no reason to ever set foot in a movie theater again. You become a part of the movie. I've had friends over to listen and the usual response is, "Man that's f***ing cool!" I was most impressed with the sound from regular network TV programming. Like nothing I have heard before. Sporting events come to life as if you are sitting the the stadium, arena, etc. Crowd noise has never sounded sweeter. I listen to a lot of burned CD music, especially bootleg live audio, and the concert experience is wonderful. You'll swear you were there. The receiver and speakers make less-than-studio-quality music sound good. Trust me, hearing is believing...you will not be disappointed.

Strength:

Efficiency, clarity, overall sound quality

Weakness:

Grilles could be a bit more robust

Prior to purchasing these speakers, I tested out a plethera of different brands that fell within the same price range. Out of all of these, the Klipsch RF3s seemed to have the most realistic sound, and in particular the horn tweeters gave a nice smooth sound in the high frequencies that wasn't present in many of the other speakers that I tried out. I was surprised at how efficient these speakers are. Having a fairly powerful amplifier, I find myself setting the volume knob at relatively low settings so that my eardrums (and relations with my neighbors) stay intact. The sound is crystal clear, and the imaging is fantastic. Sometimes the lower frequencies are not as prominent or defined as I would like, but this is a pretty minor setback, and the addition of a subwoofer should round out the bass quite nicely. For these speakers, high quality speaker cables seem to make quite a difference. At first I was using ordinary everyday speaker wire, but eventually bought a set of cables made especially for biwiring. What an improvement in the sound clarity! Placement of the speakers themselves also made quite a difference. At first they sounded muddy, but once I moved them several feet from the back wall and toed them in somewhat, the sound seemed to balance out quite well. Overall I am pleased with these speakers. No major complaints about the sound. Cosmetically I would like to have had options other than that black vinyl similated woodgrain finish. The grilles could have been a bit more robust, but no matter, the speakers look great without 'em! I have not regretted buying these speakers in the least, and in my opinion they are a great value for the money.

Crisp clean sound, can handle alot of power, great for home theater use.

Weakness:

nothing

I am very pleased with these speakers so far. I first would like to note what a great experience I had dealing with www.acousticsounddesign.com They have great prices and swift delivery. Now to the speakers. I am currently running a Denon 5800 and these speakers are able to keep up with it. I am enjoying the crisp clean sound from the highs. I would recommend getting the center channel for the RF series as well
