Strength:

looks, finish, quality of sound

Weakness:

heavy

I bought a pair of mahogany KSP-400's about two months ago from an AAFES Power Zone here in Germany. (military store)
They were having a close-out on most of their Klipsch speakers and I got mine for a little over $900.(I also bought some KLF 20's for less than $300 - I caught the wife in a generous mood.) To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed at first. I loved the looks and finish of the speaker but it did'nt sound any better than the 20's. After a few weeks of 'playing' them I arranged another face-off with the 20's. This time I was impressed. My wife and I both agreed that they sounded smoother than their less expensive siblings (as they should for 3x the price).

The 400's are powered by a Yamaha 2090 and sound wonderful. While they are capable of removing pictures from your neighbors walls, I most enjoy them at a low to moderate volume listening to my favorite cd's for things that I have not heard before. (the 20's are now the worlds largest surround speakers) If you can find a good deal, I would highly recommend them.

Strength:

There isn't much to say that already hasn't been said about these speakers. They have turned my living room into a movie theatre.

Weakness:

Induces severe loss of sleep due to the irresistable urge to listen to these speakers all night and all day

Well first of all you caint have the "wife factor" with these speakers combined with a sub, unless she likes it, they will shake your house, iam using a pioneer VSX 37TX and it sounds amazing with it, iam also using the KSW15 sub from klipsch, the main speakers were abit tricky to set up with those 3 knobs the manual was not verry clear on how to set it up, but the way i got it now sounds great, i might tweek it more when i get a better room to put them in...i recomend them to all now that they are discontinued they are much cheeper than what i paid, the bass pounds but not as much as my sub, but the perfect amount, i have them all in the front and the bass fills the room much better than with just a sub, i give these speakers a 6 out of 5 :-)
