Shane's description of 'crisp and pounding bass' is right on. I bought the mahogany models from United Audio at a close out price. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about making the purchase; wondering why no one else I picked them up before me. But after the first track of the Pat Metheny Group's 'Imaginary Day' practically brought me to my knees, I knew I had to have a pair of them.

I recently purchased the KSP-400 Towers with S6 Surrounds, & a C6 Center. This setup is phenomenal! Each of the speakers is excellent! The towers are fantastic! I was worried about hum that I had heard about problems with or a muddy sound as some reviews may suggest. However, I immediately purchased the cheap 3 to 2 prong adapter plugs from radio shack & I haven't had any problems. The sound is definitely not muddy either. The subs can be set easily for your listening taste. The bass is crisp & pounding. I have not had the pleasure of bass this solid and impressive in a home setup. They also offer a nice space saving design. I would definitely recommend these to anyone considering them!

To whom it may Concern, I have recently purchased the KSP 400's and I am quitepleased with them. I had previously owned a pair the Chorus II's and Had sold them years ago. Upon going to my Klipsch Dealer I found these KSP 400's in Mahogony Finish. I for one was a little leary of this progressive design but desided to give them a shot. I am so glad I did!!!! The soud was clear, Loud
and crisp! In fact I think they are more crisp than my previously owned Chorus II"s. I did find however that the powered sub needs to be tuned to your listening prefrence. When I demo'd them at the dealer they sounded muddy. But upon setting them up at home I found that a little tweeking on the sub was all that was needed. I would recomend these to anyone looking for a high performance
speaker

Strength:

Bright and Loud

Weakness:

Heavy and difficult to move.

I'm building a new home and wanted to set up a home theater system. I was going to buy the AR-1's but my local good guys had this on closeout because it was a demo in mahogany after hearing this speaker I had I had to have it! The sound is spectacular. The powered sub woofer will rattle your fillings out if you let it so watch out. It can handle all the power on my Pioneer receiver but I'm in the process of setting up home theater with the Denon AVR 5700. Will do this when the home is built in November. If Klipsch is used in movie theaters it's good enough to use in my home!:)

I have to say that this speaker is really powerful. It would shake your house if you live in small one. Although it has much power output, it seems to lack of tremble. To improve it, using it with combining some speakers that have good tremble, such as Infinity, AudioPork, or NHT. Final words, Excellent speaker.

Strength:

Excessively tight pounding bass! Mixed with crisp clear highend at all volumes. Very efficient use of power.

Weakness:

Back problems later in life from moving them. Discontinued by Klipsch.

I just found a pair of these while testing out Klipsch RP-5 and RP-3 speakers. Needless to say the KSP-400's blew away Both RP's. Why did Klipsch discontinue these speakers? It doesn't make sense to me. I plan on keeping an eye out for another pair of these speakers.

None. No speakers can compare to these. Definitives maybe...

Strength:

Tremendous BASS!!! Using a pair of these speakers requires no other outside sources of bass as the subwoofers provide more than enouph low, deep, bass. These speakers sound great with any speaker combination.

Weakness:

How could you have a weakness with these speakers.

You can buy these speaker for cheap because they are discontinuing this line. I got mine for $1000 at ubid.com. They have a 5 year warranty from Klipsch. These things rock. If you love bass, these are the speakers to buy.

Strength:

Clarity, Detail

I auditioned speakers for over a year, and I always came back to the Klipsch.
They reproduce detail in the mid and high region very accurately without any harshness.
Many speakers came close, but none could match them, I highly recommend them to anyone who likes and appreciates every detail in a movie/sound track.

Strength:

Awesome powering thunder is provided by the subs. The surrounds are just a great sounding.

Weakness:

When I had questions with the multiple choices of installing the speakers I asked Klipsch directly over the web site www.klipsch.com. They have yet to help answer specofic installation questions about the speakers.

The speakers are awesome! I bought the surrounds with the package and they are great as well. They complete package is exactly what I expected and would recommend to all. The customer help line over the web is a great downfall to the overall experience. I give the speakers a blazing 5,customer service help, I rate them a balmy 1, and the installation instructions with all KSP series are just as bad as the customer service line, a balmy 1. Klipsch needs to learn from there competitors about help lines. If it was not for the poor installation instructions and customer support I would give an over all rating of 5 but there is more to sell then just a product!
