Strength:

Bass, power handling, and low, low price.

Weakness:

Cheaply contructed cabnets, but what do you want for 100 bucks?

I've always had shelf systems as stereos. One day I went to a friends house who had just bought a component system. Man, let me tell you, it rocked. I liked it so much I did some research and went out and bought one of my own. I was ready to drop 300 bucks on a pair of sony tower speakers when I saw this pair of KLH's on sale for 99 bucks. I figured hey, these will work for now and if I hate the sound, i'll take them back and get something different.
Well I got home, hooked them up to my sony STR-DE845 reciever, and man, I was amazed. They rock. Some people have complained about pour sound, but with the equilzer adjustments on my reciever, I was able to make them sound amazing. Also, you can turn the volume waaaayy up and they didn't distort at all. They just thumped out nice bass that shook the walls, and mids and highs were clear as can be. I have heard better sounding speakers, but if you are looking for something cheap, that sounds good, these speakers are for you. Go out and get them now.

Strength:

loud playing speakers. good looks.

Weakness:

muddy sounding. cabinet cheaply made.

As far as these speakers are concerned. I will never buy anything with a KLH label on it. Today I am taking my 3rd pair back to Best Buy. The structure of the cabinets are built very cheaply. Now I understand why they are so cheaply priced. Maybe it is because they cut back on the wood glue whe they are assembling them.

Strength:

Awesome sound for the price! Great bass and tons of power.

Weakness:

Box made of plywood.

Truly great sound for the price. I'm so glad I bought these. I'm unclear on the power of each speaker, but they are loud. I have them connected to my 400W receiver, so the power each can handle is a concern to me. I plan to be using these to throw all-dorm parties, and seem good for the job. Highly recommended. Only problem was with the shipping, 'cause when I got them, one of the covers was broken. But KLH is being kind enough to replace that at no cost.

Strength:

Can easily rip the KLH logo off so you don't get embarassed

Weakness:

horrible sound, I'm pissed for paying $120 a pair for them

I guess the only good thing about these speakers is that if you want to piss the neighbors off you can crank them real loud. When I bought these I just wanted some speakers for my room, but after a couple of months I counldn't take them any more. I moved them down to the basement I for only $80 more I bought Myself a pair of Paradigm Titans that really sound wonderful. Anybody even considering buying these things should really look around and you'll find that most bookshelf speakers in that pricerange sound alot better.

Strength:

they were very cheap, a quick fix

Weakness:

the boxes are very week, they rattle realy bad when barly turned up, and the drivers are paper. No way it can handle 250 watts, and the tweeter hisses realy bad. save your money and buy something else

i saw theses and thought they were a good deal at 70$ each, boy was i wrong, i should have saved my 140$ and bought some cv in a few weeks, dont buy these they are not worth the money or the trip to best buy, the only thing i liked about them its the tweeter and mid, is liqued cooled.

Strength:

AWSOME BASS! Good highs, nice and efficient

Weakness:

Take awhile to break in. Unsturdy cabnet.

For a hundred bucks you can not go wrong. These speakers really take the "k" the "l" and the "h" out of KLH. you could slap a Klipsch sticker on then and you might get caught but maybe a jbl or Cv and your good to go and you don't get ripped off.

Strength:

Price, sound quality for the price

Weakness:

None for the price

These are great speakers for the price. They are party speakers. Play them as loud as you want and you don't have to worry if you blow them out. That being said, they are nowhere close to being audiophile quality. You do get what you pay for. I coupled these speakers with my ARs and they now sound fantastic. By themselves they were lower than I liked. They have bass, but not near as much the Valdus speakers do. For college students and those wanting to get an entry level speaker these are great. My recommendation is if you are a serious music listener, look elsewhere for speakers. These are not what you would want. If you desire good, cheap party speakers, look no further.

Strength:

Crisp, clean highs and powerful bass. Attractive, slimmer design than most floor speakers.

Weakness:

None.

After hearing these speakers at Best Buy and seeing them priced at under $100 a pair I snatched them right up--even though I had just bought a pair of Optimus floor speakers on clearance for $120/pair a couple of weeks earlier (back to Radio Shack they went). I'm using them as the fronts with my Kenwood HTB-502 home theater system. The excellent highs and good mid-range complemented by the 100 watt Kenwood subwoofer rock the house. These KLHs are the best speaker bang for the buck you can get.

Strength:

The woofer, midrange, and tweeter work separately and effectively. Clear highs and smooth mids; strong, wide-reaching bass.

Weakness:

None

This is a great set of speakers. For the money, I guarantee that you won't find a better pair.

I'm sure this isn't nearly the best speakers you can buy, but then, these guys were never made for the audiophile market.

In the audio enthusiasts' and casual listeners' markets, which KLH targets, they're awesome. Some guys here say the bass might be a little weak, but trust me, they're not. Remember, you're not trying to buy Rockford Fosgate. These are ~$100/pair speakers. Do you still want to complain?

Big, hard to blow out
Price

Weakness:

Clipping
Crappiness
Build quality
Cheapness
Their KLH's. That's weakness.

If you like listening to music, these speakers suck. If you like listening to muddy explosions, or boomy dialouge, or distorted music. Than these are the speakers for you. If you like crappy stuff, than these crappy speakers will be nice. If you like nice stuff, than these speakers make decent firewood when listening to better equipment. They are cheap, but they sound cheap too. Save your hard earned money for something that doesn't suck so much.
