Deep bass in Stereo

I first bought the lower model, The Classic 6 which did quite well with a Rotel amplifier. But when I started Home Theater, I bought the Classic 8. First impression was good, definition was honest, and there was no need of a subwoofer. But if it is more than correct in multichannel mode, the stereo listening' is not that good. Bass are too presents, too deep. Finally, the main problem come from the range' name : is it NOT correct at all. It is a very good speaker for Modern music, no for a Mozart symphony.

These speaker have excellent basses.
I highly recommend them to everyone.
The size speaker fits nicely into my flat.

Good sound for price (950 DM) with ONKYO TX-8511 Receiver.

Very strong and tight bass. The speakers are also nice looking. Bi-wiring and spikes enhances the listening experience. Quite good speakers for home cinema use!

Midrange and treble elements of low quality.

Midrange and treble are not up to my standards. I have used the speakers for a number of years with 3 different amplifiers and a number of quality signal/loudspeaker cables, cd-players etc. I still haven´t found a combination that produces decent midrange/treble performance. Perhaps my taste has improved since buying my Jamo Classics, but in my opinion Wharfedale Emerald 97, in the same price range, sounds much better!

I´m generally not very impressed with Jamo loudspeakers. In my opinion you have to spend at least twice the cost of Classic 8 in order to get a decent Jamo loudspeaker. Two stars for good home cinema performance. One star for poor value compared to close competitors.

power handling,looks,great balance for sound

does not provide balanced sound at high volumes when driven by a high power amp.

This is a great pair of speakers when driven by a good amp like Denon 1500rII.good for all kinds of music,specially the Dire Straits,Santana,all kinds of jazz&rock. There may be a loss of balanced sound at high decibel levels.but Iam talking real loud volumes ,which is not normally required unless you wake up your neighbours as a practice.
good pair if you get it as I noticed in most reviews at approx $500. India is more expensive due to duties and levies,hence my $950 figure.
