Strength:

Loud.

Weakness:

No bass. Small frequncy range. Cold sound.

I've boutght them for home cinema use (rear speakers). For this purpose they are good. But compeared to my Boston acoustics front speakers the have no bass and too strong middle and high. Jamo's are very loud but not as precise as the Boston. I will sell them and replace with Boston. Listen to Boston VR3 and you will discover why.

Strength:

dramatic

Weakness:

mid. freq. is too strong

verry stylish piece of furniture appropriate for big room. the sound is deep-toned , mid.frq. is strong and clearness. Made for modern dynamyc music like a Drum'n'Bass , not neo metal for optimal sound picture and dramatic effect recommend ampplifier YAMAHA AX-496

Strength:

Excellent manufacturing

I bought them four years ago. Although they are called "Classic" I use them mainly for listening to the popular music. The main reason for buying them was 4 Ohm impedance to fit them to my Sony amplifier. On the beginning I was a bit regretting this decision but finally I get used to their sound, which was quite a unusual for me.
The very good side of this set is bass, which is clear and strong thanks to the double bass speakers. I miss some of the presence of the higher frequencies, which are sometimes too soft for me, while I would prefer clear and even sharp sounds.
I have to mention that since I bought them I changed my apartment already four times and in each of them they sound differently.
In general it is very nice set and I am quite happy with it. I give only four stars because I have heard already a better set. Unfortunately it was two times more expensive than my Jamo.

These speakers are rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bass is too loud, the treble is muffled and as for the midrange pathetic!
Notice how Jamo don`t publish frequency responses

Strength:

Great speakers. I bought them at the sale - two for the price of one. Look at the retail stores, prices are often much much less for these speakers (including Classic 4, 6 and 10) than on the internet.

Weakness:

I have not found any yet...

They also fit as a nice pieces of furniture. I got mine in cherry finish and I like them a lot. I hook them up onto SONY STR-DE945 receiver and everything looks and sounds perfect. I recommend buying decend cables for these. Also, look for 4 ohm amplifiers since these speakers are 4 ohms speakers - this should not be a problem (I have a switch on my SONY 4/8 ohms...)

Strength:

Deep bass in slim casing. Love them in home theatre mode.
Many people think I have a Subwoofer hidden under the couch. I don't. =)

Weakness:

Too much bass when playing standard stereo sound (i.e. music CD:s). The midrange is a *BIG* weakness. It is far too low, sadly. =( But maybe it depends on the system components (CD/AMP).

Nice price speakers. Slim design. Much sound at a fairly low cost. The bass is incredibly deep.

Strength:

pretty good bass for this size, very nice looks, bi-wiring/amping

Weakness:

bad mid-range and treble, something seems to be missing

i had to choose between jamo classic 8, magnat vector 6 and quadral qlx 215 (which look extremely good) (probably not well known speakers outside germany/austria)
i finally took the jamos, and i regret it a little bit now; they look very good, there is tons of bass for this size, but there seems to be missing a great portion of sound, especially when you´re listening to rock, heavy metal (black Sabbath for example);
good for jazz, blues and rave/mode´rn music, bad for anything else in stereo;
very good in surround mode, especially when you use speakers of equal size for rear channels, no need for a sub, no maam´!

Strength:

Home cinema and techno/trance in stereo...

Weakness:

bad midrange but who cares for that price... (and yeah... I have crappy english... not my fault... i'm a dumb blonde!!)

I bought these speakers for my first homecinema. Got them for nothing and I didnt really listen to them... not as much as I should have I'm affraid.... My main purpose for these speakers was to have them lined up with my Denon AVR-1801 and my now SONY NS-dvp400D DVD... a pair of surroundspeakers and a crappy center... just so I could atleast enjoy my DVD's a little more... I wasn't after something even near a HiEnd-system.

So far I'm pleased with my classic 8 speakers... as long as we are talking about homecinema... In stereo they where a big disapointment. Drums have an uggly habit to dissapear. Not even the intro in Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana is very good any longer... this is not something a sub can make up to so DONT by these speakers if you are looking for a stereo setup... They dont stand a chance against speakers like B&W dm603 Sx or Dali xxxx... Great for parties though... LOUD is the word... BASS is another... hehe...

(the value rating is not for the $250 I paid...)
