I just bought this pair of speakers at Circuit City and I must say I am a bit surprised with its performance. They sound really nice with H/K AVR-40 that I have. For $250 per pair, it's a bargain that no one should miss.

Strength:

slim tower design, clear highs

Weakness:

lacking in bass

These speakers have good sound quality but do lack bass somewhat. With a sub they sound even better. Infinity is replacing their reference line so I imagine these speakers will be taken off the market soon. I compared theses to a pair of cerwin-vegas and these infinity's had a much clearer sound, although the CVs had more bass of course. The highs were much better as well. You can get them discounted online rather than paying reatin. Good speakers overall. They handle music well but are not as durable for home theater applications, especially in action movies.
Here is my system:

Strength:

Not overly bright, but a little bit brighter than usual. great bass response, very tight sound, very warm sound.

Weakness:

none.

plan to finish home theater with rs3's, cc-3, and infinity sub. will only buy from harmon international... hk receiver, cd, & dvd. only infinity speakers for music/home theater. would buy 5 infinity overture 1's if i could afford it, but i 'settled' =) for rs4's, and love them. amazed by sq and ability to bump, too.

Strength:

Outstanding Home Theater, Infinity Quality

Weakness:

A little thin sounding when playing music

Not really knowing what I was doing, I submitted a bid for 4 of these to ubid.com. Foolishly bid too much and paid $45.00 more per speaker than my smarter colleagues listed here. The killer though was the shipping charges came to about $150.00 for the set of 4. (Thank god they worked great right out of the box).

Thanks to Jerry at http://www.lightav.com/ I was able to match these speakers with an appropriatly matching center channel (BIC America DV62CLR - with 6 /12 inch speakers), and subwoffer (BIC America Venturi V-8 (8")).

Now that all is hooked up to my Denon AVR-2801, these speakers are outstanding for home theater! Unfortunately however, when playing music CDs/Radio, they sound a bit thin, i.e., not as full as regular full sized speakers. I guess this should be expected though, because these are really bookcase sized speakers, sitting atop an acoustic enhancing case/stand.

In conclusion I am very happy with what I have. My advice to ubidders though: don't expect to get the best bid on weekend/holiday situations. Bid on things that close on Mondays, etc., when the rest of the USA is not on the net.

Strength:

Great highs, good mids and good bass response for a 6.5" woofer.

Weakness:

None, if you have a good sub.

I just upgraded from a pair of DCM KX-12's. Those speakers had a lot of bass, but the soundstage wasn't as good as the Infinity's. The RS-4 has excellent highs and mids and even good bass response. I decided that after months of large speakers, I needed smaller speakers, so I picked up the Infinity's, and traded in the DCM's (I paid $20 out of pocket). I am currently using a Boston Acoustics VR2000 THX-certified 300-watt 12" sub that I bought at Tweeter for $500 a few months back (it was originally $1200). Well, I tell you, this set-up couldn't be better! The RS-4's take care of mids and highs, while the sub really belts out the low notes. Overall, an excellent value for the money and for anyone who wants to save some floor space.

Strength:

Not too big for a tower, excellent highs and mids, and for only one 6 1/2 woofer bass is amazing.

Weakness:

Maybe a little to high of highs if not tweeked properly...maybe.

I just bought the RS-4's to act as my fronts and I have RS-3's as my surround. Alone, the RS-4's have great bass and sound amazing for music (I like hip-hop and jazz) and great for hometheater. I also have a Velodyne VA8100X which when coupled with the RS-4's and RS-3's is absolutely amazing, together they bring my house down, so deep so rich the sound is truly amazing. I love Infinity, I think they make a great speaker for great prices. I bought these at a local dealer for apprx. $169 a piece (I haggled) They were listed for $199 a piece. The only problem I have now is that I have I Bose VCS-10 center channel which I despise and need to get an Infinity center. I have found a Delta for about $100, but would rather match my fronts with the CC2 or 3, but I have limited funds. If anyone knows if the Delta would match decently and sound good, email me and let me know. Otherwise I will have to save up and get the CC2 or 3. Overall these speakers are wonderful. High reccomendation.

Went out looking for the 2000.4's which got great reviews here, but was told that they were replaced by the RS4's. Took a listen and was impressed by the clean mids and highs and found that its 6.5" driver put out an adequate amount of bass for the type of music I like (jazz, classical). Enough so that I can often turn off my sub. They also perform great as my front HT speakers.
Best of all I got the pair as open box floor demos (in perfect condition) for just $162 each. Circuit City have them on sale today for $249 each so I'm grinning from ear to ear!

Bought a brand new pair of these RS-4s.....sounds great with my Yamaha receiver. There's quite a bit of bass from these units and the mids and highs were very clear. Highly recommended.

I had these speakers several months ago and thought they were pretty good. It wasn't until I upgraded my system to Rotel that I noticed how bright they were.
These speakers are good if you go with consumer brand receivers, but with better quality electronics I would get something else. I ended up taking them back and getting Paradigm Monitor 7. MUCH BETTER!
